Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 вер 2024
- My ownership review of the Mutant 2.0 (Mk.47 Resolute) after 7 months and roughly 1200 rounds through. Part 2 will include a higher round count and other oddities that I notice. Can I trust it's reliability as a go-to rifle?! Share your experience down below in the comments if you own/owned one!

Thank you taking the time to put this video out! We appreciate the feedback on all fronts and apologize for delay in our response. Customer service is something we take very seriously and are always striving to improve. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any future questions.
Regarding the naming, we'd of loved to have kept what we originally called it. Unfortunately due to legal reasons we cannot continue using the name.
It lives on in spirit ❤️. Thanks for the response, made this video to provide honest feedback. Hoping this Mutant 2.0 provides many more happy range trips!
@@ExtremelyAverageMan Honest feedback it was, Agreed on most all of it but then again, I WASN'T THE ONE WAITING FOR A REPLY OR TRYING TO GET MY NEW GUN SORTED OUT.
Looking forward to Part 2 & it was nice getting a response from CMMG, SUCKS ABOUT THE NAME THOUGH, FREAKIN Lawyers.
Best 7.62x39 AR channel out here.
Thanks for the kind words!
Good video! Sorry to hear of the issues you had. I looked at getting one of those when it first came out, but the cost was a deterrent at the time for a unproven plat form. Hell my most expensive single gun purchase has been my Ruger SR 7.62 at $1600. You need to look into the the Palmetto KS47 they are around $800 for a complete rifle, I'm actually ordering parts to complete a lower I bought from them years ago. Keep up the great content and reviews. Your videos make me miss the mountains even more then I all ready do, I'm now living Texas.
Thanks for sharing! Yeah I love it out here, but it's getting so darn expensive. I worry that I'll regret it if I move. I'll have a part 2 at some point, but want to put more rounds through it and give an honest assessment first.
Very comprehensive. The rifle needs more development. No question.
great video and these bumpers for liking and subscribing is really a nice touch
Haha thanks for noticing! I hate asking people for things, so I figured I'd do it in a fun and entertaining way. Makes for a good segway as well.
I just received a new MK47 Resolute that came with a bolt stop/release installed. This is not the Dissent! It’s not a last round bolt hold open due to the AK magazine but it’s still a good feature for those that were complaining that the platform didn’t come with one.
Whoa, is this a feature on newer models or a third party modification?!
@@ExtremelyAverageManI just got mine and it also comes with a bolt stop installed so I think it’s on them all now
Extremely Average Man WENT WAAAYYYY ABOVE AVERAGE ON THIS ONE.
But to be fair he did sell a few firearms to get it, THAT SUCKS, I'VE BEEN THERE.
GREAT REVIEW, AN HONEST REVIEW but IMHO the gun is overpriced, has some crap parts as he mentioned, stock, trigger, muzzle device all should be better quality etc. for the price.
NICE DAG IS THAT AN Akita Mix ? LOVE ME DAGS.
Maybe I'm jealous since I can't afford such a gun unless I save for a year or so ? Or like he did sell things.
I'll stick with the poor's group & keep my now flawless BCA guns.
In my experience lately Customer service & shipping is SLLOOOOW TO RESPOND NO MATTER WHO YOUR DEALING WITH.
Amazon just delivered a package in a RENTAL VAN, WTF ?
The driver said THEIR SWAMPED & HAD TO RENT VEHICLES TO TRY TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND ?
THANKS FOR THE VID. VERY INFORMATIVE & AS ALWAYS WELL DONE, YA I'M OUT OF SHAPE ALSO, WELL I DO HAVE A SHAPE BUT NOT THE ONE I THOUGHT I HAD, LOL.
I agree with you-this was certainly an aspirational firearm for me, and I do think it is overpriced....1.9-2k with a Milspec trigger, uncomfortable stock, non-adjustable gas block (although mine cycled fine but still) and the cerakote doesn't seem great-might point that out in Part 2 and issues out of the box and very slow customer service to top.... We did one of those dog DNA tests and he came back Pit, German Shepherd and Husky...but I do think he has Akita in him as well. Thanks for watching!
@@ExtremelyAverageMan Thanks for the reply, looking forward to Part 2 on this Rifle.
Doggy DNA Test, LOL, We love our dogs don't we. Chewy boxes higher than the ammo we have stored, SSSSHHHHHH. OH Amazon boxes as well, can't forget them, Hell I'm surrounded by both, every month more boxes, LOVE CHEWY. I LMAO when you mentioned that in your previous vid. Like your use for them on different guns, nice Illustrations. My recyclers won't take ( PICK UP ) cardboard, WTF ? I have to take it down to their place on Wednesdays on a certain time, It's like a MAD HOUSE TOO.
YA, Rango ( GREAT NAME ) Does look much like an Akita, has to be some in him ? I can see the others mentioned though.
Looking forward to Part 2, THANKS AGAIN & PET UR DAG FOR ME.

I wish that they still produced this handguard. The new ones are so PSA.
So, get an AK then, lol. Great review my man.
Naw, the resolute is easier to accessorize.
You should check out the Wolfpack Armory WP-47. At my local gun store it was $800 brand new, but just from a cursory look over it gave off a cheap feeling. Idk tho could be a more budget friendly competitor
Whoa, absolute steal! Aren't they pushing $1000 or more? Yeah it appears they're going after the Mk.47 from an aesthetic standpoint...are they equally as reliable?
@@ExtremelyAverageMani haven’t shot one yet but when I held one at the store I noticed it didn’t feel as well crafted as the CMMG. I inspected them one after the other and there was a noticeable difference. I rolled the trigger and it felt pretty fudgy compared to the stock trigger on the MK47. It also came off the shelf with parts I’ve grown to dislike, biggest example is the buttstock and pistol grip. It’s the bear creek arsenal AR of mutants. I’d say it’s not worth $1000.
ALSO is there anywhere you’d recommend I buy Bakelite mags from?
@@ExtremelyAverageManrecently I got to see the Wolf Pack WP47 Elite Rifle, that thing is the real deal. It’s awesome. Only thing I had a slight issue with was that it’s designed for p mags only, has a very hard time with other models of AK mags if not outright being incompatible.
@@Techn0mancer I would ask around in some AK groups, there's people that have much more knowledge than I do when it comes to Bakelite mags...mine happens to be a Tula. I bought mine a few years back because I heard how scarce (and expensive!) they were becoming, so I bought mine for $100 at a gun show. To be fair, I replaced almost all of the furniture and the trigger on my Mutant, so if you plan on doing the same to the WP-47 and as long as the BCG and internals are solid, it might actually be a better investment than the Mutant haha.
@@Techn0mancer A bit disappointing, but not a complete deal breaker. At the range, and for my more serious "go-to" mags, the Gen 3 P-mags are some of the best when it comes to weight, durability, reliability, affordability, and commonality I would say.
I have to ask before I can watch the whole video, how did CMMG address the breaking of extractors when firing 7.62 from a 5.56 bolt?
Ill be walking the dog a listening. Thank you.
Well with the Mutant/Mk.47, it's actually a properly-sized but proprietary bolt. It's essentially a scaled down .308 bolt (or scaled-up AR-15 bolt) that has beefy bolt lugs and extractor. It solves the AR-47 shortcomings!
“Customizablity”
@@punkinblack361 😆
I remember at one time you mentioning different variables can effect the gas charge and without getting too specific can you share what round about area you are in the USA please?
You must've watched my AR-47 video haha. I'm in Colorado. Many of the ranges I go to are national forest or BLM land, so even higher
@@ExtremelyAverageMansure did and I’m trying to decide which AR47 and literally almost bought a resolute yesterday. I don’t mind having a few teething issues, but obviously trying to keep them to a minimum. I don’t plan on shooting mine nearly as much as you shoot, but also don’t want to be let down. Thanks for the reply.
@@cowroy64 Good attitude to have. Yeah, so far it seems I've resolved all the issues with an extra power hammer spring and the double feed ramp that they warrantied. I agree that a premium rifle should be perfect out of the box, but if you have experience in building AR's (especially AR-47s) then you should know how to resolve any issues you may encounter
Is the gas block adjustable?
No, it comes with a non-adjustable gas block. I'm sure you could swap in an adjustable gas block, however my ejection so far has been good and I haven't needed one yet.
@@ExtremelyAverageManI’m planning on suppressing it so it’s starting to feel like I’m in over my head. Do you know any brand that would make such a gas block? Would it be a 308 gas block of AR-15?
@@Techn0mancerI’m sure you can use an Ar-15 gas block, from what I’ve been reading a .750 gas block should work I plan on doing the same one my suppressor gets out of jail
