    the leak is between the governor and the unloader in the compressor(or out the purge valve) when it blows off the purge valve is opened, your video shows that happening, the tanks will not loose any air pressure, if you are starting a how too youtube channel you really need to learn about the items your going to make videos of.

      @youtubeisawesome2487 In this case, the leak was at the relay valve on the trailer. But you might be right. Maybe I should work on these things for ANOTHER 25 years before I try to help people.

    I've been driving a tractor-trailer since 1991. It's almost every day. I see a truck that the driver is not in control of it passing brake smoking and they never look in their mirrors to see it. It's getting to the point. I'm having to decide whether I'm gonna give up a job, I love.

    How do the legs even become unsynchronized like that in the first place?

    • @ToxicTrucker
      @ToxicTrucker 5 місяців тому

      @sdoieqwfjhweoiuhasdo General wear and tear, mostly. If it's happening often, the set should be replaced. It can also get out of whack by dropping the trailer on uneven ground too often. Many maintenance mechanics don't grease the landing gear, and that will cause wear, as well. Gears need grease, but a lot of people skip the kickstand, for some reason.

  • @sdoieqwfjhweoiuhasdo

    Why is it so important that you cut the hose straight? I dont have an airline cutter but I use a box cutter and I cant get it super straight

    • @ToxicTrucker
      @ToxicTrucker 5 місяців тому

      @sdoieqwfjhweoiuhasdo It doesn't have to be cut exactly square, but you should get it as straight as possible. The ends should fit fairly squarely inside the fitting to prevent leaks. I've done it in the dark with very little slack to spare, and it turned out fine. You just don't want it to be ragged, that's all. Don't stress too much on it.

    Im new to trucking.. will this pass an inspection or it’s just to get back on the road? Thanks in advance

    • @ToxicTrucker
      @ToxicTrucker 5 місяців тому

      @issy3735 This will pass inspection, as long as it isn't leaking air. Once you're finished with it, apply air to that line & spray it with soapy water. If it doesn't bubble up, you're good. If it does, tighten it some more. As for applying air to the particular line, you'll do that from inside the cab. If you're checking the service line (blue gladhand), use either the trailer hand brake, or the brake pedal. Put about 25-30 psi in it, at least. If you're checking the trailer brake line (red gladhand), just push in your trailer brake knob (yellow). Then hop out, spray the new connection that you installed, & see if it bubbles. I also recommend that you perform your brake check test (COLA) from the driver seat, as you practiced in CDL school. Do that test throughout your career, each time. Thanks for watching the video. I hope it helps.

      Meth would not cause someone to wander into a field & freeze to death. That's one thing. The other thing is the mystery of where his body was the whole time that people were scouring the area, how he got into the field without leaving boot prints, why the tracking dog lost the scent right at the point where vehicles access the field from the road, the list goes on. I guess the shirt answer is that there is plenty to call bs on. And by "plenty," I mean virtually every detail.

      Well i wont answer about the dog, or the foot prints, because i have no way of knowing. But as far as him walking out there, he was sleep deprived, on meth, and only two reasons i can think of why he went out there. Meth causes paranoia, that is well known, and if he hadnt slept for a couple days on top of that no telling what was going throughnhis mind. Maybe the voices were telling his those pigs were really federal agents in pig suits,lol...use your immaginatiion all the crazy things he could of thought. My second guess, he haf to take a dump. Walks into a field away from the road, and just passes out. Got to 30 that nighf, he just froze.

    You've called it right too!! I have the GOD given gift to " see" things at times. In January I called the authorities in the town where David went missing because a few hours earlier I had a vision of the EXACT FIELD David was in. I told the authorities I saw a Sinclair gas station in my visionI described exactly what the field looked it, the height of the grass and the FACT that a highway runs parallel to the field he was in. Now I live in NE Texas we have not had Sinclair here in over 60 years. I can barely remember those stations. Anyway after I described what I saw to an investigator his exact comment was and I quote" how did you know this? This is the exact field we searched by the Sinclair and we did not find him." I told him again I have the gift of seeing things at times that others do not and to GO BACK and search that field. He said he would get one of the other investigators to call me ( remember I'm in NE Texas and I have never been to this town where David was.) Well I never got a phone call from anyone. I was shocked! You mean to tell me the authorities get a phone call with info like I gave them and they aren't interested in following up on it? Sounds a might bit fishy.

    I agree totally on turning the truck off! Even if he stopped to help a woman on the side of the road, he’d pull over, but not turn off lights or truck. I’m not sure of anyone these days that gets out of the vehicle- for any reason without automatically grabbing their phone, it’s second nature. Correct me if I’m wrong but a driver normally takes a heavy coat off inside the cab 🤔 although he was only a few moments down the road. Curiously also it was a very distinct coloured truck, not easy to hide if stollen. If his cargo was electronics or cigarettes, alcohol, ok, but piglets ???? Feels a little bit more personal to me. Just my opinion! Thoughts with David and other drivers. My brother drives Road trains in outback Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

    Before I retired, I was a maintenance of repair supervisor for container chassis yard for a large company. I have seen some very scary repairs done to the trailers electrical systems by fokes that should never have had a tool bag in their rigs. With that being said, I wish that drivers would have left notes in the doc holder explaining what they had done to at least give the mechanics a fighting chance to make their flat rate money to go to fix the problems. Just found your channel, will keep watching, good luck.

      That's probably the best price you're going to find. Truck stops jack up the price on everything, so I would avoid that, if at all possible. Remember, though, that the only part that is NOT re-useable is the ferrule/crimper. If you can grab a bag of those, plus maybe a couple whole sets, that ought to do you fine.

    Sometimes stuff blows after your pretrip, while you are driving. Using the flashers to cover for not having tail lights, just to get to a safe place to repair or get repaired, is a good way to NOT get hit. Please do not attempt to repair your lights while stopped on the shoulder of the road. Use the flashers to get to a safe place.

      You make a valid point. After all, it is the vibration which most often causes wires and hoses to rub through. My concern is for those drivers who just keep pushing instead of stopping at a rest area or service shop to address the problem.

    • @ToxicTrucker
      @ToxicTrucker 9 місяців тому

      My philosophy is that company drivers should never pay for tools that stay on the trucks. The carriers make (& hoard) plenty of money, & they benefit greatly from drivers who do their own repairs instead of calling for roadside service or having a mechanic do it all. Unless you have a company credit card linked to your online shopping accounts, you're spending your own hard-earned money on tools which the company should buy. That's just my thought on it. Of course, drivers certainly benefit from a tool bag, as well, because, in this industry, time is limited & miles are money. That said, I will consider your suggestion, though my channel is hardly large enough to make any difference.

    I just finished watching your thoughts on this case and I agree with you 150% sir. I think he was taken and he was taken by some sort of surprise endeavor to boot. I have watched some other trucker's thoughts on this case as well. There is a couple on here who truck together and I believe do or have trucked separately as well. Some of their experiences while out there made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I have been thinking on what you said and I have to also wonder if whoever did this thought initially maybe they would just steal the truck with the pigs in it? The reason I say this is because I live in a town with a meat processing plant (hogs) and a few years back some people did just that. They stole 3 semi trailers from a JB's plant at 7 in the morning. I also completely agree with your thoughts on them getting into the truck and realizing they were not going to be able to drive it. The fact that his coat/jacket was found on the ground tells me that he did not go willingly. If LE did not process the scene, as it was found, properly or thoroughly then they likely missed out on some important clues as to what happened. NOBODY leaves like that, like you said, turns off the truck, leaves their wallet, jacket and cash just to be leaving on their own free will. For one thing, IA winters are frickin' COLD. We've also got a LOT of illegals in this country now and they keep coming. The other truckers I watched were speakinng of people stopping the trucks or blocking the roads to stop the trucks.. The guy said he had an experience where he saw what was happeniing or got a weird feeling and did NOT stop, only to get by them and see at least one other guy come out from behind the vehicle. If he'd stopped who knows what would have happened? I think truckers are mostly good hearted people who would stop if someone acted like they need help. That's got to stop brothers. There is just too much meanness and dishonesty going on out there now. Please stay safe and I pray that soon this man's loved ones will have the answers they so desperately seek.

      No. I used to use an attorney network 25 years ago, but I found that it just wasn't worth the money. These days, I just try to do my thing at a high professional level so that I avoid all the legal drama from the start. I do see the value of those networks for newer drivers who perhaps haven't learned to slow down, stop completely, drive passed cones instead of over them, & inspect their equipment as if the cop will be the next person they see. Beyond that initial learning curve/ mistakes period, I would hope that the veterans could save the expense of lawyers and pocket that money. Beer isn't cheap, ya know? 😆

    Strange things in that area for sure. Few weeks ago, I shut down for a 10 at The Mill T stop off of 20 / north of Holland, IA. Rolled about 2 am, two LH turns and I'm heading up the entrance ramp to get back on 20. Car on shoulder blacked out w lights off comes into view (I'm thinking it's broke down possibly, not a big deal). As I get closer and grab gears the lights come on, 4 way flashers come on suddenly. As I drive past and continue to pick up speed, the car goes back completely dark, all lights back off. I believe someone was trying to get me to stop and let curiosity get the better of me, to see if someone inside might need help. I continued up the ramp, caught a few more gears and headed off into the night toward my delivery. I felt it was strange where that car was sitting. Because they could look across the divided highway (20) and watch truckers do their pre trip walk around and who might be heading out soon. This isn't my first strange encounter either. Be safe drivers, and watch yourselves.
