I got laid-off one month after starting, along with 40% of the company. At that point, I could not take the company's leadership seriously, why did they hire me in the first place... And completely agreed, it also made me want to be self-employed or at least have another source of income, no matter the work it will take.

Hi Madeline - This video came up in my feed (not surprising as I've been watching a tonne of videos like this as I'm about to start my own YT journey!) and I suddenly realised I'd seen you before, specifically, your car video where you got laid off? I THINK I commented on that one if memory serves? 🤔 Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all the best in your continued growth and eventual financial success. I believe you can do this because you have the hallmarks of many content creators that I've seen on here, who were all in the exact same boat and now they're seeing the fruits of their labour. And earning $130 for basically just creating videos and uploading what you love to do? That's not "nothing" in my book! That to me just shows what's possible. I was laid off on Friday the 13th this past December 2024 2 weeks before Christmas, my position was deleted due to an organizational restructure. I was unaware of even being laid off & didn't see it coming, luckily I was given severance which allowed me to pay off my car loan and that has allowed me to become "debt free". While I am debt free, I live at home with my elderly parent and I am their caregiver which alienates me from providing for my elderly parent. Luckily, I am child free and I live on a minimalistic budget but I am mentally grieving for a new job. I've went on countless interviews with no follow ups until yesterday, I finally received an offer letter & start tomorrow. Forgot to mention, I'm also petitioning for bankruptcy, so realistically I'm financially bleeding out until I can get back on my feet.
