    Hi^^ You get the symbolism of the MV^^ The monsters represent the stage fear trying toi hit the kids ; the 4 stages into the kid's head represent emotions who are kicked one by one unbtil the only left is joy (the joy of performing, the joy of music) I had kind of the same music / rock journey of yours... and maybe is it the reason I love the SKZ so much

    I going to start by saying I'm 59... I discovered BTS by accident just after Danger was released and curiosity got me to listen to more, Captions on, from there I was lost. They are fantastic musicians, they can sing, rap & dance, they often write their own lyrics and are often involved in the production. Their lyrics, often focus on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work also often references literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. "BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents," They started out as a HipHop group in 2013, (they have 3 rappers, 2 of which were from the Korean underground rap scene & 4 Vocalists) but actually cover so many genres of music in addition to HipHop, invluding Pop, EDM, Rap, RnB, Rock, Urban, Trap, Ballads... they say not everyone will like all BTS songs, but there is a BTS song for everyone. For anyone willing to find out more I recommend taking a look at what they have to offer and suggest the following: Butter (All English) Dope Fire Danger DNA Idol Blood Sweat and Tears Mic Drop Black Swan Fake Love Not Today Save Me Truth Untold Spring Day (which has spent 5 consecutive years in Goan's Digital Chart's, you also need to watch Italian Armys video on how it rekates to the Swol Ferry Disaster) Your Eyes Tell The Cyphers if you like rap Then solo works: Jungkook - Euphoria, My Time, Seven V - Singularity, Stigma (live version), Sweet Night (the first and only song in history to top 119 countries on the worldwide iTunes chart), Love Me Again, Rainy Days, Fri(end)s Suga's alter ego Agust D - Daewitcha, Agust D, The Last, Shadow, Haegeum, Amygdala RM - Persona, Joke J-Hope - Boy Meets Evil, More, Arson Jin - Epiphany, Abyss Jimin - Serendipity, Filter, Crazy

    As an old Army, I don't recommend Taylor's video on BTS as she is new Army and the video consits of a lot of the Big Hit propaganda, and persona that they created. The better videos on who BTS are and the struggles they face are by Xceleste, she is old Army and high up in the BTS fan base she also has a many videos explaining the BTS Universe that runs behind their discography. Personally as an old Army I really am annoyed of this pointing to Taylor's video, it's like the new Army's want to erase BTS's real history.

    Trust us, if you watch any western boyband/Timberlake/Usher dancing vs BTS dancing live, you'll realise how far off you are about the dancing being similar. Good job learning the rewind 5sec after pause rule rofl I never ask for it, but always appreciate it when reactor does it. One thing I think to remember is to be mindful of what you're perceiving vs what you're understanding. They're wearing cohesive outfits and look pretty, why is that? Watch any group video where the outfits of members aren't related, it's a mess. Members that all look good? Avoid problems like Backstreet Boys/Nsync/1D where ppl only recognise the "hot" member. They're in the pop genre - but what do the lyrics say and what emotion have they put in to their voices? They're dancing, but like you picked up - they're dancing to enhance and emphasizing the music and portray a story/theme/feeling, not because they're trying to look cool. The difference may seem subtle on surface experiencing because of course, they do want to reach as many listeners as possible so those elements are incorporated and used to gain popularity but BTS show how you shouldn't use it as your end goal, or your only selling point. Pop does not need to be only brain rot, mindless dribble. Boybands don't need to be aimed at only females, selling love or flashing pretty smiles. Music and dance can transcend language, idol groups can have autonomy and be artists not just dancing dolls managed by evil corporate money hungry power tripping millionaires. BTS' popularity prove all those things, and the band themselves say even more with their music.

      Yeah I’ll be the first to admit to having VERY little familiarity with US boy bands so that’s obviously not a great comparison at all… but the only one my metal brain could muster. I don’t mind the mismatched outfits as I always found it easier to know who was who (I could tell the difference between Sporty Spice and Posh)! But I agree, there is something aesthetically pleasing about uniformity! I need to watch more dance honestly. It doesn’t connect with me now but I think it’s like learning algebra. I don’t really get it, I know it’s hard and one day I think it’s going to click.

    I'm sure others have already said it, but this is why RM chose to drop the Rap Monster name and goes by just RM now. He grew up, and realised that the name Rap Monster was weighing him down as he is so much more. He absolutely can hold that name, but as you see from this song he is so much more than that now. Instead of rapping haters under the table, he wants to be a sturdy/resilient wildflower that can withstand hardship, instead of a firework that makes a big bang then burns out in to nothing in a flash. Check his song Joke or Do You, to see the old Rap Monster.

      That makes sense. It’s kinda funny. I was honestly expecting some serious rap here and instead I got this insanely beautiful song! I gotta say I’m not disappointed but I think I really do need to check out some older rap too!!!

    Ah yea... RM has some edgy pieces too. Pieces that have raised issues bc of their content, but that still represent an insane amount of skill in writing and rap. And are pretty darn edgy. Joke comes to mind. It's straight up harsher rap than this, by far, and was a clap back for some people that were being, honestly, quite rude to him and Suga after debut, because they got their start in the underground.

    The cultural and story references are great, but they're not necessary. At least, for me, they were not. That part came later. Personally, those things enhance the experience of listening to the music. I've listened to American music the same way. Did I grow up knowing about the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and Richardson? No. Do I still sing my heart out for American Pie every time? Yes.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock 5 днів тому

      I’m right there with ya… although I did know about the crash as I grew up on oldies and my dad was sure to tell me about it every time a Buddy Holly song came on. I am interested in the cultural aspects, but I’m so new to all of this that if I chase down those meanings now I might miss large parts of the song itself.

    Agust D is a great producer who has always absolutely killed it at integrating traditional instruments into his works as a producer across many genres (he's so good, one of his nicknames has been the hand of midas for how he can make anything gold). It's more than likely not your style, but Autumn Leaves (aka Dead Leaves) also demonstrates this. Along with some insane not common chord patterns and progressions and circular synths that aren't common in modern music. However! That's not a must. I just adore it as a musician bc it's put together so insanely well, lyrically, production wise, instrumentally, etc. Thank you for always being honest in your reactions and giving thoughts to it. It's refreshing and I appreciate the honesty because nobody always loves all their music across the genres 1000%, but when you do, your honesty makes it all the better and more joyful for me as a watcher, because someone else truly loves a piece of music that I love.

      You don’t ever have to worry about recommending songs that aren’t “my style”. So much of what I’ve been listening to isn’t my taste or style (or at least what I thought wasn’t) but I’m really enjoying this musical journey and have been blown away by how much music I thought I’d hate and ended up really enjoying (such as BTS and James Blount!). I’m not sure I have a style anymore… and if you look at my attire, you might argue I never did. 🤣😂

    If you do the Taylor guide, maybe you can consider pausing and then editing the final to accommodate your doggie. Some people will pause to talk about each member after their segment is done (especially because the ads tend to fall close to those locations). I think you might able to take a break every couple of members and then just edit that out? I think people would understand,especially since it is a long video.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock 8 днів тому

      That’s not a bad idea. On one hand I’d hate to take myself out of it constantly but on the other hand, the ads would likely pull me away a bit mentally anyway and if it’s broken out topically than that would be easier to do. Hmmm. Solid plan! 💜💜💜

    Huh. You might be the first person I’ve seen who would have preferred the music video to the kinetic manifesto film (which is basically a dance video). The choreography of this song has a very high degree of difficulty and you don’t get to see much of it in the music video so most people prefer this one. One thing that the music video does is demonstrate through the symbolism that this song isn’t just a fun little dance tune but actually has a very deep meaning that is based on psychology, specifically the psychological theories of Carl Jung. Still, if this song is too dancy for you I have been wracking my brain for BTS songs that you might like better. Most of the ones that come to mind do not have music videos although many of them have live performance videos you can watch. If there is no live performance you can find color coded lyric videos on UA-cam that translate the lyrics into English and also show you by the color of the words which member is singing. One song that does have a music video is Mic Drop. So put that one on your list. Fake Love also has a music video you might like that one. But I think you might also like: Pied Piper (live performance, look for one with English Subtitles), Anpanman (live performance), Run BTS (live performance), Louder Than Bombs (lyric video, don’t do the one with the picture of V holding the cup. The translation is word for word and the idioms don’t make sense) but especially Louder than Bombs I think you will like. I’ll see if I can find a link to a good video. Here’s a good translation video for Louder than Bombs. ua-cam.com/video/I1Pcj3CHun8/v-deo.htmlsi=f3Ke1zIm7wFPxmiW

      Thank you so much for the info and the recommendations! I’ve said in prior videos that I LOVE videos that tell a story. This was the dance version of a rock video where the band is up on stage playing the song. It can be a hard song to play and have amazing guitar solos but it just doesn’t move me the way a story does. I guess I like seeing deeper visual representations. That said, I also don’t really understand or have any real experience with dance so while I’m sure there’s deeper representations there, I’m just to dance-ignorant to understand what I’m seeing. Much like my dive in to music outside of my norm, I’m sure more exposure to dance will help connect me to it… but for now, I’m at the “it looks cool but I don’t get it” phase. Also, to my defense, I covered some REALLY great solo vids that had REALLY deal stories (August D, V, Jin, etc) so I think to go from the deep emotional storytelling to the upbeat dancing made for a completely different vibe. I didn’t hate it and I think more exposure would be good for me!
