Wait to watch Sticky and Sweet tour an the energy of argentinean crowd.
I was so obsessed with this tour that I bought Confessions Tour book with all the photos. The visual around 5:43 is also included in that book and it's my favorite pic :)
ua-cam.com/video/h8vT8KLt3NA/v-deo.htmlsi=ajLYO_q2WCfAhGAn ✨️The RAY OF LIGHT/SHANTI *VMA 1998 performance. The movements you are referring to are showcased expertly! (HINDU-esque, I believe) Beyond AMAZING, NEXT LEVEL!! enjoy!!! 💫
I was going to suggest this also! Sooooo good! I really hope they react to this!!!
Hi girls, how are you? I have a strange relationship with Ray of Light. I love the studio version, I think it's a masterpiece, but the live versions never manage to deliver what the studio delivers. Maybe the live version of Oprah is the closest to that, and that version I like. The version of Le It will be that you will watch below is a remix by Styart Price, but make no mistake, the album version is very different but equally incredible. Have you listened to the album yet? Kisses
I wanna see this whole building jumping I wanna see all London jumping I wanna see the whole world jumping Come on M.Fs !!! Pure Madonna attitude! ❤
ROL in all of her live tours have always been an eye-popping spectacular, jolting performance that conjures a cosmic, stellar imagery bursting with energy perhaps evoking the “Big Bang” moment of creation that unfolded an eternal cycle of birth-death-rebirth of stars like all life in this material universe. I agree with you, her choreo of male dancers that got behind her and did those arm movements with the sun rising in the background is most likely Madonna’s artistic portrayal of the Hindu mythic astral sun god, lord Surya, leading the original 7 solar gods (the Adityas), who in later Vedic texts was replaced by lord Vishnu. This was the long period when Madonna was fascinated with Hindu/Buddhist mysticism and yoga. Her use of the mf’er slang word popular among inner city Blacks is a dual edged sword: it’s usually a cuss word when said with anger or contempt, but in her use here before her adoring fans-it’s a term of endearment. That high tech stage flooring that “swallows up” dancers as they jump and disappear into it-is amazing! An artistic detail that enhances some of the performances in this tour that Madonna no doubt envisioned to include. Shared in your awed reaction to this number.❤😊
While she was rehearsing for this tour she did a surprise performance at Coachella. The setlist played out the same as in Koko club. However she performed Ray of Light, just as she would later perform in this tour! Even the dancers were there doing this very same routine
Such an electrifying performance! My favorite live version of ROL.
The dancers disappearing into the stage floor: I don't think it's special effect. I think it's lighting technician. I saw the musical Les Miserables in London in 2022 and the character Javert disappeared like that, seemingly jumping off the bridge.
At this point, we all can agree that every song (even interludes) are pure art; an incredible performance; and that is the best She does. Also at this point, we all can agree that when the confessions tour finish, we'll miss our daily trip with you ladies, hehe. Big love from Barcelona!
This is my favorite version of this song. Thanks you so much for this reaction. Greetings fron Paraguay ❤.
Oh Yeah, Great Performance!❤️ Saw LIVE in Philadelphia Just Amazing!😵 Nope wasn’t sitting down. Thank you ladies for this wonderful reaction. #BigFanInMichigan #MegaMichiganMFan84
Bonsoir! Oh i write the second commentary. 😊😂 We dance we dance we dance, we clap our hands and we jump we jump we jump..... 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I love this version.... I was waiting your video tonight!!! I have a very good moment!!! Thank you and have a good end of sunday... With hugs and kindness from little frenchy boy 😅❤
The dancers on this are absolutely great!!!! I don't understand the fans that don't like M on the guitar because they would rather her be dancing. But she can do both! Love it! Brenda, it's so funny you mention the choreography with arms reminding you of Hindu. On the 1998 MTV VMA's she opened the show with that exact thing. She began with Shanti/ Ashtangi. Three large screens projecting Hindu imagery. The women dancers were wearing a lehenga choli and their forehead adorned with bindi. At one point in the choreo they were all behind Madonna and you could only see their arms, moving around so precisely. It was really a cool thing to witness.
I’m from Australia and the first time I travelled overseas was at the age of 22 to see this tour in NYC. I saw the show 3 times and it was great seeing this song performed in the city it references
Hello, on one of the stages of this tour during the song I Love N.Y. Lenny Kravitz took the stage for a guitar war on stage
Nothing more rebellious than suggesting you go to Texas to suck the d* of the sitting President.
We can see a hint of Debbie Harry in this performance. Madonna has always been a fan of hers and since this concert has roots in the 70s, it was great of her to pay homage to one of her idols 😊
Love the interludes!
Just like you, luv it when she draws on her early NYC punk/rocker roots. She found her perfect guitarist in Monte Pittman who revived her guitar playing interest beginning with the 2000 Music era (Don’t Tell Me)…followed by the punk rock vibe opening of her 2001 DWT. It was Pittman who has a heavy metal pedigree who’d teach her the electric guitar licks and riffs she showed in this I Love NY number. Before joining Madonna, Pittman was a guitarist for the heavy metal rock band Prong, and his guitar playing technique was influenced by the lead frontman of Pantera, another heavy metal rock band. We’ll see more of this rockstar Madonna in her 2008 Sticky&Sweet tour and 2012 MDNA tour. Some of her lyrics in this song captures her rebellious, angry response to her critics:…”If you don’t like my attitude…Then you can F off…Just go to Texas…Isn’t that where they golf?…New York is not for little pussies who scream…If you can’t stand the heat…Then get off my street!!..Get off my street…You get off my street!!..”. Yep, you go girl!! Just let it out and let it rip!! ❤your reaction here, sheer fun and appreciation of her punk rocker persona.😊
Bonsoir! Yes we were mad during this rock part in the public! We jumped everywhere, we danced, we sang the lyrics.... we didn't see coming the GB things 😂 It was unforgettable. Just a word about the interlude..... i realise that nothing changed since 2006.... 😢 it's so dramatic.... So thank you for being a ray of light 😂😂 (what? I spoiled next video?? 😂😂😂). With kindness and warm from your little frenchy guy 🎉❤
Rock Madonna!!🔥
I am ashamed to be an American right now and for obvious reasons. I can’t believe hate won, but it’s ok. We will all heal. Thanks for another great reaction video, ladies! 🥰🥰
Omg I’ve been wanting a rock album from Madonna for years now. I’m glad you both agree. I’m not a huge fan of this song but this rock performance was amazing!! Have you heard the headcleaner remix of American Life? It’s really good.
The Sorry Remix video was her first “political/social” interlude on tour. This thype of video would return on the following two tours!
11:25 - 11:58... she's such a BAD A**... 😮❤🎉😊
george bush was getting wacked left and right by her back then im living for it
I LOVE NEW YORK is My FAVORITE SONG ON "CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR" **it has this "ROCK AND ROLL TECHNO CLUB" sound to it ❤❤ (and she's REALLY PLAYING GUITAR too 😮😊)
I love the album version to death 😩
@ArmandoDimanche ABSOLUTELY YO
Many people don’t know are forget that Madonna was once a punk rock lady so many think she doesn’t actually play the guitar
Love that you get a little bit of everything in this concert tour. Thanks for posting! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
Hey girls! How are you? Did you listen to the whole album Confessions On A Dance Floor? when they finish To see the Tour, you should listen to the only two songs that are not on the Confessions Tour, which are "How high" and "Push". I would have liked to listen to the entire album with you, and see your reactions. I like to hear their sensitivity and seriousness in their reactions. I love them. love from Argentina❤❤❤
About Sorry: All those images were generated by our current system of exploitation, invasion and slavery. We will only be heard when we come together again as a community and not through the personal success of a few depending on the hunger of many. Kisses girls...
The Sorry Interlude pissed people off because they hated that she "got political" as if Madonna hasn't always been poltiical. and that she was hating on religious leaders...i think its her interludes that set her even more apart from the rest. she keeps the energy going and provides quality performances and most the rest just don't do it. The third act i think is her confessions on fame. opening with her pay homage to where the fame all began NYC and her roots in The Breakfast Club and Emmy and the look paying homage to her idol David Bowie
🙌🙌💪💪👏👏👏👍👍 you’re totally right!!!
Hi again! Remember when you did your reaction to this song during the Koko Club performance, you said that all she needed was a guitar? I remember thinking "just wait until they see the Confessions Tour!"
this song was the dud on the album for me,usually skip this one.
no pop star nowadays is brave enough to include politics in their shows like this anymore
Great reaction ladies. I also love rock Madonna. She’s so great with a guitar. Very soon you will see her doing Pantera riffs on her guitar. That’s Sticky n Sweet tour. And I can’t wait! C A N D Y 🍭 But for now… more Confessions. When you first reviewed Substitute for Love, I commented how much I loved her performance from Confessions! Very excited that is coming up. Monday! 😁 Have a fabulous evening ladies. Have you confessed? 🪩 💕
Great reaction once again. Thank you. 😎👍
Somewhere on UA-cam there's a pretty in-depth interview with Monte Pittman (i think it's backstage at the MDNA tour) It was for some rock music channel. He speaks in detail about all the various guitars they use for different songs in the show (literally dozens) and why they choose them for their particular sound. Most of it was very technical and way over my head. But the funny part was in the comments, all the hard core rock guitar afficionados shocked at learning the level of musicianship involved in a Madonna concert. Along, of course, with many disparaging remarks. But it was quite obvious none of them had ever seen one of her performances.
I think I'm in the minority but I love Madonna + guitar 🎸 ❤
I love the interludes in the concerts. The only thing is there is not a proper break / pause to go to the toilet. The concert never stopped. 😅
I enjoy reliving the shade to W. Bush!!!!
Agora vou assistir!! ❤❤
Interlude Queen! Sadly this was Donna De Lory's last tour with Madonna. Niki Haris's was Drowned World Tour. For this one, Donna sang along with (Madonna newbie at the time) Nicki Richards, who would go on to tour with M multiple times.
Eu sou o primeiro a comentar e curtir!!! ❤
