I'm a 50 year old who enjoys discovering new places off my bucket list, through solo open boat camping adventures. Appreciating the silence of the mind, magnificent natural scenery, flora and fauna, with background music provided by the pure sounds of nature. I'm learning how to recreate my real-life ASMR no talking sort of experience.
I work full time. My boat camping trips are my hobby, editing my videos a bit at a time at night.
I'm interested in lots of things and try fishing, bow fishing for a bit of fun, spotting wildlife and amazing scenery along the way. I'm having fun figuring out how to have a great camping experience on the boat and the challenges it presents. Like how to have a campfire, eat well, and be comfortable. I'm always on the lookout for the next thing to try.
I find this peaceful and helps me switch off from the daily work pace. I hope I can pass some of that on to you and help you experience things that you might not get the chance to see.

Camping on the boat - cosy and comfortable adventure secrets | Unintentional ASMR - No Talking
I haven't been well and some subscriber friends took me out on the water in their new Black Watch Marine 22 foot Long Boat to get some tips do some camping on the boat. I took them to see a historic site and test out their boat in shallow water. Some tips came to mind from my previous trips to help them have cosy and comfortable adventures, which I share in this video.
ASMR - No talking, so just enjoy the peace with us.
Free camping on your boat does not need to be difficult. Keeping things simple, low cost, very comfortable, and easy are important to have a fun and relaxing time.
Long boats offer a lot of boat for comparable prices to other recreational boats. More boat means more room to set up comfortably without the expense of larger boats and the larger tow vehicles needed for them. They also give you lots of room to set up your camping gear without feeling cramped.
I hope you enjoy the trip.

I Googled my symptoms, it turns out I just needed to go boat camping! 🤣 Summer heat and health kept me from camping on the boat alone for a while, so it was really nice to find time to get back out there. I didn't let the heavy rain and high winds stop me from going on this adventure. My setup was tested for the first time in these conditions though. Trying different clothing for these conditio...

Not in a hurricane or heavy rain, or under a handkerchief with my pregnant girlfriend. I’ll leave that to all the others. Relaxing sounds of nature, POV style. This is what I do when I can’t take my big tinny camping. Maybe you could call it survival, surviving the rat race! Paddle, sail, camp coffee, camp food. No ice or fridge needed…

My first mouth-watering Red Claw CATCH and COOK, camping on the boat. I was lucky enough to get a travel window between gale force winds and severe weather to get into the outdoors. Traveling 260km inland to a lake that was at 25% capacity a week before, to arrive at over 100% capacity. It was hot! 37 degrees Celcius and 70% humidity, with swarms of insects. My methods of surviving both are a l...

What a change of scenery! Sounds of nature from the deafening sound of cicadas to the sounds of beach and ocean waves. Another month of work and finally got out to explore an area 500km away. I was racing three metre tides (sandbars coming out of the water so quickly!) but relaxing in nature was my priority :) I had planned to camp on the boat overnight but severe thunderstorms with damaging wi...
Compact Campfire Smokeless for Camping on the Boat - Camping Hack - ASMR No Talking

Getting that campfire feel on the boat when camping on the boat is tricky. It needs to be compact, safe, quick to put out, and cool down fast. The areas I explore do not allow wood fires because it's such an environmentally sensitive area, and wood takes up precious space if I have to take it with me. This is my upgraded attempt at how to make a campfire on the boat. Trying to get that "log loo...

@@AndrewPortway-io6fu that’s right, Noosa Everglades. Thanks for watching 😀
I love these videos. What's an approximate price range for a boat like that?
@@penhdog2207 I’m not sure these days as I bought it several years ago. Thanks for staying tuned in 😀
My favorite boat camping channel. Adventurous but peaceful and quietly inspiring.
Such a great way to enjoy and share your outdoor adventures, so different and peaceful without a commentary! I would really love to know the model and size of your Darche tent for my next boat camping adventure? Many thanks!
@@Tinwoodie100 thanks for watching and glad you like it. The tent is a Nebulae.
Nice just need a mozzi net
Yeh, lucky it was winter… my new tent seems to work much better if you check out my more recent trips. Thanks for watching 😊
Awesome video, no music and so peaceful. Well done, wish I found it sooner.
Thanks for tuning in and glad you liked it. I hope you like the others ☺️
might have to take out my boat and try this too
Awesome , well prepared
BRO!!!!! You're back!!!!!
@@scottmathis6849 yeh, hopefully will get to go out more often with some mods and friends. Thanks for tuning back in 😊
So nice to see you've returned to us! One thing I need to mention, though-- those charcoal briquettes contain a host of chemicals (used for for binding and igniting). Better to use chunk charcoal. Cheers! Hoping to see another cruise soon.
Thanks for tuning in again 😀. Thanks for the tip on the charcoal, I’ll have to research that and look into using the chunk charcoal…
I hope you're feeling better!
It’s nice having friends who can help me get out there. Thanks for tuning back in 😊

Love the boat gonna try and find one with a similar layout in the states. What tent was that?
Cool, I really like the completely flat deck for ease of cleaning and the high bow for rough weather. The boat tent I use is a Darche Nebula. It’s a little on the heavy side for me to handle but top quality and strong. Thanks for watching 😊
I need a boat 🤦🏻♂️
Nice set up camping boat! 👌 What size is you aluminium boat?
It’s a 7.5m/24ft aluminum boat. Thanks for watching 😊

what is the make of that tent? Its perfect for this boat camping.
It’s a Darche nebula canvas swag tent. It’s pretty heavy duty and awesome for boat camping. It’s hard for me to lift and set up though. I’m working on an upgrade that I hope takes comfort and ease to the next level camping on the boat. Thanks for tuning in 😊

I loved this. So good to have a "POV" film rather than some egotistical d***w*d mouthing off constantly about how he built everything from rhe boat to his hat and annoying music playing over fast edits.
Love it! Peaceful to watch.

Great vid, showing the beauty of Aus. A little backup power pack wouldn't go amis, just in case. If you continue to show close-ups of flora and fauna, some identification would be nice. Great to see a vid with no background music, loved the peacefulness and tranquillity. For a first video, great effort.👍
Thanks for the suggestions, encouragement, and watching 😊
2024 i am 44 year old... i hope when 50 year old i can enjoy my life same like you ....from malaysia
Yes, things can be busy and other challenges that stop us getting out and doing things we like. Maybe you could try enjoying nature in little time slots now rather than waiting until you are 50. Thanks for watching 😊
cool never thought about river camping like this before. something to add to the list
Yes it is cool river camping like this, I find there is much more to see and explore than out in the ocean. Thanks for watching 😊
I love your boat and how open it is what kind is it
It’s a 7.2m/24ft plate alloy boat. The fuel tank is under the floor and it has self draining decks, that’s what makes it so open. I had it made to my specifications. Thanks for watching 😊
true about the power you talk of. God bless and be save!!!!!
Thank you 😊. You too!
Awesome
Thanks for watching 😊
The floor looks great! What did you use? Or does it come standard with the boat?
I used RV composite/sandwich panel offcuts for the casting deck. I got them from an RV manufacturer who just normally throws them out. Really easy to work with, strong and super lite weight. Thanks for watching 😊
@@riveRecon Sorry, I should've been more clear... I actually meant on the overall floor of the boat
@@hxBass oh 🤣. The floor matting is vinyl tube flooring I bought online. It’s heavy enough that it doesn’t need to be glued down. It makes it easy to clean out the boat and keep an eye on the underfloor structure… thanks and hope that helps 😀
Can you tell Me about the Bimini top? Very interesting design!
It’s an Aussie made Kingfisher Eclipse. It allows access around the boat pretty easily compared to others and has a huge coverage area too. You can also deploy just one half if needed for more fishing rod swing space. This is my second boat with one. They’ve sponsored one of my videos, if you go to them let them know about riveRecon. Thanks.
I found the site and going to reach out to them! I fish out of a Carolina skiff, basically a 20’ barge and this would solve a lot of the Bimini issues with better coverage than the t-tops. Thanks!
That's fricken awesome mate. I like how you took a recording of the river and overlay it on the satellite map. Did you use a video editor to do that or some other software?
Thanks, I’m glad you like it. It took a bit of work to transfer the sonar to images and then overlaid it on Google Earth and recorded the screen. A bit mashed up…
@@riveRecon Well done! That's the first time I've seen something like that I'm pretty sure, it's pretty awesome!
Oh, you have the best videos! I sure wish we had such inland waterways here in northern Japan, but I guess we'll have to rely on vicarious cruises and camping by way of riveRecon... Thank you!
You are too kind 😊 Thank you for the encouragement 😀
