CSX Kentucky Derby Train chase - May 4th, 2024
On Derby weekend, my friends and I followed CSX P001, the Kentucky Derby Train from Frankfort, KY to Louisville, KY. It was a great chase, and my first time following it to various spots, and more countryside shots this time. It really is different to see this train in its new B&O paint scheme. Interesting enough, This was taken on May 4th. Just five years prior, we were out getting the same train on the same date, a few of the same folks were with us for both, different paint schemes. Hope you all enjoy! This was a fun chase.
For quite a while, CSX has run this special train on Derby weekend from Lexington to Louisville, KY bringing special VIP's on board as well as the governor. When the video taken in Bagdad comes up, you can see an unmarked Chevy SUV with police lights flashing, appearing to escort the train. I did not get this part on video, but as we packed up here, we were about to cross the main road, when they stopped traffic to let the train pass by, which tells me the governor was on board.

This was a great trip! First time in a while getting NS 8098, and lots of amazing foreign power. Also got a lot of EMD power, including an SD70ACU blowing some smoke. Also, once again, UP 6379 stalks the CNO&TP, along with a rare BNSF H1 Dash 9. It felt good getting a video overhead from the bridge.

Sorry this took over a month to upload!! Work has been keeping me insanely busy, but here we are now. It's been a while since I got the Z544 loaded counterpart, so this was a big plus. I believe this is the first time I have ever seen the 50th Anniversary duo pulling this together, so this was a great catch! Hope y'all enjoy!!!

Featuring Southern Illinois Railfan On Black Friday, 2023, we went up to the Centralia area, and boy were we in for a treat. This was the busiest I have ever seen Canadian National in the Centralia, IL area. Featuring four IC Death Star SD70's, and SD70I, and 75I diesels, and even trains actually destined for Canada. This was quite a trip.

For the first time in two years, I'm finally getting back out here to Southern Illinois. I came out at a great time with An SD70M-2 on a Norfolk Southern manifest, as well as two Ferromex units on a UP train!!! It was a short, but great trip. These SD70M-2's have been coming back out a little bit overtime, due to power shortages, and new DC to AC conversions.

Haven't been to this spot in a long time. Just a couple shots of some really interesting equipment coming through Lexington, KY on Waller Avenue. The BNSF Fakebonnet was the best highlight of all.

On July 24th, I came out to Fourth Street again for an awesome surprise. First the Belt Line job comes through, shoving its way to JM Smucker, and other industries. The second train, I was in for a treat! Within the past year, RJ Corman has acquired a fleet of former Norfolk Southern SD70M's! I never thought I'd see that coming! On September 24th, 2022, my friend and I went to the BGRM in Versailles, KY and did a chase of the excursion train ride from the departure, and then backing up for the return trip across Milner Road. The train was led by BGRM's dual controlled N&W EMD GP9 locomotive No. 675.

Whats an Alcan Train? Is it a special type of cargo? Anyways, Great RJ Corman Catchs!
Alcan is the name of the aluminum industry it goes to. The train drops the ingot cars off there then it comes back the next day with the loads.

Ese último con 8 máquinas era muy corto yo creo 4 eran que se estaban de regreso. Ahora los trenes usan entre 2 y 5 y luego ponen en el punto de peso medio del tren y atrás para distribuir la fuerza, todo controlado por por computadora.

hi mate, i just got back usa, and im editing all my footage together. i love how you did you loco details with the banners. how did you do them?
I created all the graphics with the Legacy Title feature in Adobe Premiere Pro. Only prob is, they’re supposed to be retiring it sometime soon. I usually create the graphics for each railroad, and for each heritage unit, and export them so I can put them in and add the locomotive data accordingly.
@@GMTX-kg8ep ahh, yeh im using adobe too. Iv ended up using one of the sports graphics. Not as good as yours but it still looks good haha

@@GMTX-kg8ep well i found i had to use the sports banner then add a legacy title underneath. They havent really explained how your meant to add extra text in those banners as it only gives the option for head and subtitle. So where do you put the extra text? Daft sometimes

Hi Gmtx2613 I was wondering what program you use to upload your videos I use image edge mobile and I can't seem to find out why my videos always stutter when I post it on UA-cam any help would be appreciated
I edit my videos thru Adobe Premiere Pro, which is a subscription service. It is a little bit hard to get the hang of in the beginning, but I got the hang of it fast. The effects and quality in the end are outstanding.
Thank you...I am trying to figure out if it is the program I use on my phone or my camcorder that is making my videos stutter. I shoot at 60i or 60p on a SONY HDR-CX675 video recorder. What camera do you use?
