  • On July 24th, I came out to Fourth Street again for an awesome surprise. First the Belt Line job comes through, shoving its way to JM Smucker, and other industries. The second train, I was in for a treat! Within the past year, RJ Corman has acquired a fleet of former Norfolk Southern SD70M's! I never thought I'd see that coming! RJ Corman has been phasing out the SD40T-2's AKA the Tunnel Motors on the Alcan and Sand trains, although one was spotted in the yard, appearing to be repainted, so it's a possibility they won't be going anywhere. It's been rumored that some of them are likely going to be moved to their Tennessee yard.
As far as the SD70M's go, There's about maybe thirteen of them, including NS 2613, which I took a video of back in 2018, or 2019, as an NS unit. Eventually, they were sold to Progress Rail, until recently, when Corman acquired them, and they went through rehabilitation. There are two SD70M's, which are specially painted, RJCC 1973, which is seen in the video trailing second out, and 2023 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of RJ Corman! Really excited to see Corman expanding to some bigger power, and excited to see these SD70M's get a new life!

Alcan is the name of the aluminum industry it goes to. The train drops the ingot cars off there then it comes back the next day with the loads.
