UP and BNSF trains in El Paso, TX & New Mexico - December 18th, - 23rd, 2022

Guess who's back in the good ole desert! Yup, I am. This was my first ever trip to El Paso, TX, and my goodness, it was awesome! This is one of the places in the US where you can catch a lot of Ferromex units. I was lucky enough to catch two. Sadly, the BNSF line was not very busy on this trip, but I did get an industrial operation with an FXE SD70ACe. Also got a couple of Amtrak Texas Eagle/Sunset Limited trains, including both eastbound and westbound Amtrak's passing each other at Santa Teresa. Also got a westbound with UP 5251, one of the engines with UP's new updated paint scheme. I wasn't too happy with this new scheme at first. I thought it looked awfully cheesy, but it has gotten a little better since they changed the flag back to the same one as when it was on the long hood. Also saw a UP train with a Ferromex trailing second out, and a very friendly crew on board.
