5 Trouser Patterns YOU NEED TO SEW!
I love the coord! You should absolutely wear it!
That’s very kind thank you
Ooh dinner, a show, a stay in a hotel and breakfast the next day, how wonderful. As you were in Tunbridge Wells did you get a chance to go to World of Sewing for a fabric rummage? I read the other day that there is a new fabric shop opening in Eastbourne, I can’t remember the name of it but I think it will be specialising in sustainable fabrics. I love everything you have made, thanks for sharing Cara. 💙🧶🌈🍓
Thank you Jenny unfortunately no time for sewing shops this weekend, shocking I know 😅 but I had a wonderful time x
Love the coord outfit!
Thank you
Your coord set is not too much. It looks so cool!
That’s very kind of you thank you
wow, love that co-ord. Go for it! Which of course you do! I am in France, looking forward to my Ressac kit coming from Andrea. I love Maison Fauve, the French Terry she is selling is gorgeous and so is the ribbing. A little pricey but so worth it for the quality. I am making the Granite sweater, a super easy pattern of hers, but I want to use some "difficult" knit fabric from my stash. Love your vlogs. 🥰
Thank you so much, I totally agree their fabric is exquisite ❤️❤️ enjoy!
Co-ord is a terrific look Cara! Wear and enjoy ❤
Thank you so much x
What a lovely way to start my Saturday morning Cara! I'm actually off to Arizona later today for the Thanksgiving holiday with my family! Yay! I haven't seen my son since March and I'm not sure I'll let him out of my sight this whole next week, haha. This week I sewed another Toaster Sweater #1, a very fitted long sleeve t-shirt from Sinclair (sorry can't remember the name) and the long sleeve bishop sleeve version of the Galena Knit Dress from Styla. Have you heard of this dress? For the life of me I can't remember how I even found this pattern. But it is marvelous! I made it out of a Minerva exclusive blue with bright pink leopard spots! I know - another animal print! And I'm going to try and whip up another pair of Léonore Pants by Jalie, before heading to the airport (crazy I know). I'm hoping to get some decent pics of me in Arizona so I can post my makes. Hope you had a great time at the show and have a wonderful week. 🌴😎💛
Wow Rita you’ve been busy! I love the sounds of your plans . Have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing your makes over on your instagram xx
I think you should wear what you like and not worry what other folk think. Totally agree about why are jumpsuits seen as ok but not co-ords.
Thank you so much I really appreciate your comment x
Unfortunately the Persephone trousers are not very size inclusive. Also, the measurements are only in imperial. That's always more complicated to get the size right. Having to convert everything is just no fun. I love your Ressac sweater. I am wondering if maybe it is slightly too big hence the too long sleeves in the first one. You seem to have a very pronounced pleat at the shoulders, maybe you have a bit too much fabric there. It's not a problem, its nice and oversized, just a thought.
Thanks for the idea
I’ve only seen Mason Fauv patterns featured on your channel. They are unique, and you sew them and wear them beautifully! You also have a talent to match fabric with the pattern, resulting in stylish and well fitted garments. Do you have to alter the patterns to fit?
That’s very kind of you. Rarely do I need to adapt the patterns I use the size guides and they fit me with no changes, such amazing patterns
Love how we can mix and match our sewn garments. Spring here in New Zealand. I’ve just cut out another Anita Blouse by Style Arc in rayon. Take care over there.
Oh that sounds amazing! Such beautiful place too ❤️
Lovely makes and plans. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! 😊
Love your Ressac sweatshirts! We’re having some cool weather for the next 10 days, which has me wanting to sew some jumpers. When I was in my late teens, I had a pattern very similar to the Persephone trousers. I made countless pairs of them. Hope you enjoyed your weekend holiday.Happy sewing, Cara.
Yay! Thank you! You too x
Love love love your Ressac! Off to Castle Howard tomorrow Lovely to chat xxxx
Thanks Judi have a lovely weekend it was great to catch up x
Love your co-ord Cara. You totally own it! I’ve made 2 pairs of derwents but find I’m not reaching for them. I have enough of the navy ponte I used for them left to make a Jalie Emilie sweater and possibly a cropped Sinclair harper cardigan, so I think I’ll do a co-ord. I’m sure I’ll get more wear out of them that way. Thank you for giving me ideas 😂Have a great weekend 💞💞
Your plans sound fantastic! It’s amazing isn’t it how some patterns are go to and others just somehow aren’t, it’s fascinating
@ It is isn’t it. I’ve made 2 Emilies and a sleeveless one in the past month and I have a cream cable effect one cut out and ready to go. I’m also hoping I have enough left from another project to make a 5th version. I love them with my flared jeans. Best free pattern I’ve found so far 😂💞
So lovely to listen to your enthusiastic vlog. Hope you enjoyed the Show! Enjoy your makes and don’t worry what anyone else thinks - your ‘Bet Lynch’ outfit looks beautiful on you and as you say, fewer and fewer people know who you mean and in this day and age her character should be consigned to the past! Maison Fauve is so chic xxx
lol thanks Sue, it’s always lovely to hear from you x
Great makes! I really want some of the fabric you made the coord set. What is the fabric type and did it come from rainbow fabrics?
Hi it’s from cloth control it’s such a lovely fabric x
Hello Cara. Another interesting vlog. Thanks so much. Just got home from work and sat down to see all your newest makes. Yes, it really is like sitting across from a friend chatting in a cafe. However, this virtual cafe spans the Atlantic 😊 as I am writing to you from Georgian Bay, Canada. Love the Maison Fauve jumper on you. It looks really cozy. Love the rose and leopard fabric, too. Enjoy your evening out.😊 🇨🇦
Wow thank you! How lovely to hear from you all the way from Canada, I just love that thank you
😅 wearing my derwents as I watch this!!! gorgeous co ord 😍 you have to wear it all together!!!
Thank you Sarah ❤️ I do actually really like it, then my daughter said ‘you’re not wearing that together right’ 😅❤️
Love that jumper Cara, it’s such a lovely design. I really like the bet Lynch coord! Your trousers will be workhorses in your wardrobe I’m sure xx
Thank you Karen that’s so kind of you, I hope you’re keeping well xx
I cannot believe how much you make, your amazing. Love the jumpers, the colours are great. xx
lol I know… I’m totally mad! It’s how I keep my cruel brain under control. I find it so relaxing x
love your Bet Lynch effect I don’t think it’s too much. Love your trousers all 4 of them xxx
Thank you so much, it’s so lovely to hear from you x
Thanks so very much for sharing your garments! Loved everything, great job!!❤️❤️❤️
That’s very kind of you, lovely to hear from you x
Love your comfy set. I'm away in Harrogate with Jenny, did the show today (wasn't as good as the nec) and tomorrow we're off to York tomorrow more shopping, Castle howard and Judi. Hoping the weather isn't too bad 😊
Fabulous! I’m super jealous i know you’ll have had an amazing day ❤️❤️
I just finished the Daikiri blouse and dress.
Oh wow that sounds fabulous ❤️❤️
It's funny isn't it, that a jump suit is ok, but seperates can be seen as "too much"?
lol I know exactly what you mean 🥰 lovely to hear from you thank you
Love that outfit, looks so snuggly!❤
Absolutely stunning makes Cara. So stylish and wonderful to have such a cohesive collection xx
Thank you Rachel I’ve really enjoyed making it xx
Wow Cara!! Practically a whole new wardrobe in one week of sewing!! Great job they all look lovely on you!
Thank you lovely, I’ve definitely been busy 😅❤️
Hi cara loving your recent makes they look fabulous on you. I would love to give the ressac sweater by maison fauve a go but wondered were to purchase the pattern as I have never tried this designer before thank you and please keep sharing your makes.
You’ll love it! Order it from Maison Fauve themselves the postage is great and they package so beautifully xx
Thank you for replying, I think I will have to wait for a UK company to stock this pattern £7.90 postage is a little to much for me 😢
Have you googled it as there are quite a few suppliers @beyoundthepinkdoor springs to mind
Hi Cara , what beautiful makes you have sewn recently ❤❤❤ I bought one of the Singer overlockers from Lidl many years ago as I wasn’t sure I needed one (😂😂😂) it is still going strong. If it ever breaks I will upgrade but it just keeps going.
Thank you so much, yes I like that overlocker but can’t get the tension right and it’s smiling in terms of the stitches, but I’ll keep fiddling with it
@ the factory settings on the dials were all at 3 when I got mine and I have just kept it at that and it’s worked ok for me - worth a try ? Claire
Hi Cara, great video thanks. Ive looked for LB top but its not free. Am I missing something?
Hiya no that pattern isn’t free now, I just happened to be wearing it with the harper cardigan which is. The LB pattern was free as part of an offer last year, but it’s not part of my suggestions in this video I’m just wearing it
@@sosewmad oh ok, thanks for letting me know. Only just started watching your Channel and its great!
Hello Cara l am loving your jacket it looks expensive. I love the monotone colors and your bestie bag looks amazing painted with your jacket. All of your trousers are really nice too! Cara, girl you went on a sewing spree, which l am striving towards. You are a great inspiration!! ❤❤❤️
Hi that’s so kind of you ❤️ I’m really enjoying it all so much! Lovely to hear from you thank you
I swear you make 10 things for every 1 I make! And they are all just so well made and beautiful. I truly enjoy vlogmas, however I don’t think you should feel pressured to do it every day, I’m sure it can be overwhelming. Live shows are so much fun, was it what you expected? Since I work if film, corporate, commercial, theater/opera I find people are surprised at what happens behind the camera or the curtain 😉
It was brilliant fun to watch, fascinated with how hard everyone was working, just brilliant! I’m not certain why I saw as quickly as I do, I just find myself sewing and before I know it things are made 😅❤️
This was such a joy to watch … and those makes are stunning and inspirational how you make use of your time. Loving the sweatshirt but that jacket steals the show for me. Glad you enjoyed my home town of London. There’s so much to see and do and a lot of it is free so do come back 😊
Thank you! We love London try to get there a few times a year , lovely to hear from you xx
Stunning makes Cara, your neutral colour palette works well with your colouring. Love the sweatshirt. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching x
Thank you Cara, will do 😊❤
No problem
Loving your colour palette change you are glowing xx
Thank you so much that’s really kind of you
Good morning my name is Janice love your blogs To fix your overlocker you put three different colours on and you can go from there to get your tension right
Ah that’s great advice thank you
Your Dandelion jacket is so elegant and I love your Ressac sweatshirt! You look lovely in your neutral palette capsule wardrobe. I have made a couple of Barrington tees for myself and some tees for my great nephew who was born on the 9th. They are size 6mo. so I’ll wait a while before making the matching joggers. Because vlogmas is a lot of effort, do what works best for you. A weekly video answering 5 questions and perhaps give a sewing tip, or suggestions for patterns, notions, or tools? Happy sewing, Cara.
Thank you Laura, some great ideas I really appreciate that. Wow you’ve been busy too with sewing x
Lovely makes! Thank You for the inspiration! Love your sparkly personality!❤
That’s so lovely thank you
Gorgeous makes. The jacket is stunning. I have the Dandelion jacket pattern and have been itching to make it. Can I ask, does it have to be lined?
It’s an amazing pattern, yes it would need to be lined but don’t be scared it’s easy to do 😅 watch the sew along and you’ll see
I love vlogmas, but I don't blame you at all for keeping your advent calendars to yourself. I love your tonal wardrobe, although I don't trust myself in cream, I can make a mess with anything, and taupes and beiges do not suit me. I do love your Dandeliuon jacket and will definitely head over to Maison Fauve to check out the fabrics and the new Ressac pattern; I really like the style lines on the sweatshirt. I used to have a hat very similar to yours when I was a teenager (a very long time ago), so cute. I am currently making a Constellation Hoody (Love Notions) and a Southbank Dress, love that pattern, this is my third. Next in line is the Charlie Sweater. So much to sew, so little time.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, you’ve been busy too!
I sometimes get the same "smiling" seams on my Singer overlocker. What I found was re-threading it and ensuring the thread is pulled through the tension discs seems to fix the issue. Simple I know but I hope it helps you x
That’s great advice thank you, I’ll try that later x
What a great video. Loved it. Quite inspirational. Love your outfits and what a wonderful jacket and sweatshirt.
Thank you that’s very kind of you,
❤❤❤
Thank you
Love the term "enabling" garments! I just made two pairs of enabling black trousers. One in Ponte, quickly followed by stretch corduroy. I put a yoga waistband on both which makes them secret sweatpants. Used the Love Notions Duet pattern, I highly recommend it. Your monochromatic look with different textures looks so chic and cozy!
Thank you, the yoga waistband is such a great idea! It’s lovely to hear from you I appreciate your support
Lovely vlog Cara! So many of us wait each week to see all of your amazing makes and how they fit into your daily life. They are always so gorgeous, elegant, stylish (like you) but very wearable. I really like the "Question of the day" idea for Vlogmas. Maybe you could do those on Instagram and 1 video a week on You Tube, to cut down on the time requirements? I'm finally back in the sewing room, yay me! I've made the Éleanora Pants by Jalie (LOVE LOVE them), the Chess Club Trouser by Gertie (Charm Patterns), the Alana Dress by Sinclaire, the Dana Point Top by Itch to Stitch, and for my 'For A Gift To November' entry I made 6 reversible quilted placemats and a small table runner. Phew. As I am saving for our UK trip in the spring, I am forcing myself to 'shop' my fabric and pattern stash! Oh Cara, I have an excess of both (what a spoiled sewist I am!). But we always want the new shiny things we see, don't we? Can't wait to see your party dress! Have a wonderful week. p.s. loved seeing your time out in London.😊
Wow Rita! That’s extraordinary! How absolutely wonderful to do as much sewing as that. Sounds as crazy as me 😅 I also need to only sew from my stash but can’t resist sometimes, it’s hard isn’t it? Thank you for your kind words you really are so lovely to me xx
Thanks for sharing Cara and what a wonderful weekend you had last week. 🧶🌈🍓💙
Thank you Jenny I hope you’re keeping well x
Great makes!
Thank you so much
Wow! where to start? all amazing makes, you look so chic and the London trip looks fabulous. 🤩
Thank you Sarah that’s very kind of you x
