HOW TO Adjust a Motorcycle Chain on an Ohvale Race Bike and Most Motorcycles on the Market
I went to the r/motorcycle Reddit and it was CRAZY how many people were so angry at people wanting to stretch their bike. I find it crazy how all these people hate on something they’ve never even done. People just pick sides and shit on anyone who doesn’t agree with them and do EXACTLY what they do. Super lame lol.
Well said ! We service and build all different types. Have owned ALL types as well. Definitely changes your perspective when you're not just jumping on or off a wagon.
I know this is an old video but I am wanting to stretch and lower mine on the 954... I was curious how many inches did you lower the rear if you remember and roughly how many millimeters or inches do you have the fork tubes coming out of the triple tree
Every bike is different dude. We've actually done a 954 with bolt on extensions and a 954 with a custom fabricated swing arm. Jusitlower it enough that the front is a little lower than the rear whilst the rider is sitting on the bike. If you can. That's always the 👌
All right thank you man I was just looking for some starting numbers that's all
2"
All right thank you very much I do appreciate it what I've been reading rule of thumb whatever you lower it is what you should probably cut off the kickstand is that roughly what you did@@ChampionCycle
No. To start cut half that amount off. Then see how it sits before you weld the kickstand base back on.
I have a 2001 Road Star...it's a badass fkin bike....like it better than my heritage Softail.... Yamahas twin cam is as good if not better than Harleys idgaf what anyone says look into how it's built then say
👌👌
What exhaust you have on that machine ?
Yoshimura tri oval carbon
can that set screw go on the bottom of bar?
Yes. You always want it at the bottom. We only put at the top so people could see each everything clearly throughout the tutorial. They were old grips just used for the vid.
One question for put all back like factory is easy work ?
Yes sir. Keep all your stock parts. It'll take 2 hours to completely put it back to stock. Even less if you simply shorten the chain and re route the brake line

Why not hide the set screws on the bottom? Looks cheesy af on the top…
This video was made for teaching purposes. Using old grips. Of course the current and finish product grips always have the pinch bolts at the bottom. 🙄
@@ChampionCycle yeah not trying to call out your amateur shop just figured it be just as simple to show a correct install. Keep up the great videos Bob!👍
i notice you used a copper crush sleeve over the internal throttle cable. my copper sleeve was ruined because i had to take things back apart about 10 times. i saw another youtube video where a custom chopper guy did not use a copper crush sleeve and just tightened the set screw down on the cable, so that's what i did. but i'm not sure that was the best idea. what do you think?
Copper always works for us. Has yet to fail.
@@ChampionCycle i just asked ChatGPT 4o. it said i might not have a problem for a while, but eventually the steel on steel contact could fray and break some or all of the individual strands of the internal throttle cable, and/or possibly cause a rusting issue. it said one of the purposes of a cooper crush sleeve is the distribute pressure from the set screw more evenly, so the wire strands are not damaged. it also said steel on steel contact can produce slippage and the copper sleeve can prevent slippage.
i'm doing an internal throttle now, and it seems like before cutting the cable the handlebars should be turned hard to the left. this is to ensure you gave yourself enough slack, so as not to snap the cable out of its fittings if the rider cranks the handlebars hard left. that will probably only happen while parked and locking the steering column but it could still leave the rider stranded.
👍🏻
I have a Buell XB12X. How do I know which beads and how much beads to put in my tires? Thanks
Usually it's 1oz front and 2oz rear. But the package should say
I have a 1100m 1991 having carb issues after having them done over, had a very rough idle engine itself don't sound great has a little backfire and popping sound at idle, on carb sync what carb is the base carb and can someone give me advice please
Have the carbs and bike been to a licensed mechanic ? Who did the rebuild?
I have the same bike. How much to tune it for a cat delete and smooth out the on /off throttle
Feel free to call the shop anytime. We can chat about your options. Or dm us on Instagram
Did you put the power commander on the vtx
No. The bike wound up being sold
This is amazing information Thanks so much❤

Hello brother absolutely love your explanation. Can you tell me which swingarm extension should I use for stretching my R15 V3? And if you know where I can find it? Please guide
Hi, Thanks. I'm not sure about that model. Unfortunately it is not a model we get up here.
Beautiful bike bro!

🤔
There’s stupid people and then there’s you
Have you guys ever dyno tuned Kawasaki Z900RS?
Yes, a few. Including one we built a turbo kit for. 😉😉
as another Irish bike mechanic I'm very jealous of your Dyno

I’m thinking of buying a bike with 3” stretch. My only concern living in FL is u-turns and speed bumps. Can I do a normal uturn and with bike 2” above ground level, is that gonna be a concern with speed bumps? Is there less need for rear brake with a stretched bike?
2" above ground is like riding/driving any lowered vehicle. But a 3" stretch is almost nothing. You'll likely barely even feel the difference.. I've personally taken a zx14 with a 6" stretch down to Tennessee and ripped the mountains scraping the belly fairings left and right with no problems. Moral of the story 3" is nothing you'll be cool
Are there any negatives to these? I imagine they don't work well at low speed, but then again I imagine they're not needed at low speed
Maybe only the mess when you have to change the tires. 🤣🤣
Great, so your bike is going to sound like a washing machine..! 😂
You'll definitely hear the miniature ceramic balls rolling withing your multiply rubber tires and aluminum or steel rims. Definitely going to hear them. 🤦♂️
How can I know if my Yamaha is a Silverado or VTX?
The vin number and a call to the dealer.
I just got the same model last week…love it
👍👍
How many inches was the stretch?
6 inches. 💥
What sort of AFR do you find the Gixxer likes to run at best?
It varies by use. Track, street, stunt etc.
I looped my built engine r6 and I’m scared to open it up again because it just wants to go up all the time so this video was so helpful maybe I’ll stretch it
🤙🤙
I love your enthusiasm talking about this Chinese bike - but the reality is very far from being so good , it's true about the costless parts , but the quality of parts and engine pieces can't cost much more as there are done with low material quality. I never seen a complete Gearbox / transmission spare kit at that prize ( 60 Euros - including Camshaft ) . But I agree that the Bike is doing its job , you can have a lot of fun riding this small Chinese bike at a good price . but again don't expect quality. other good options , even better m are Bucci or RMU if you want to have fun
Couldn't agree more. We actually do not sell them anymore ourselves for a multitude of reasons. 🤙🤙
Need a drive belt
Good question. We'd recommend you use an oem drive belt straight from your local yamaha dealer.
Anyone knows the best drive belt for a Yamaha Roadstar 1700cc.

I have a 2001 ROADSTAR that I'm turning into a cholo/vicla style. Love my Yamaha
Sweet ride !
nice I started on a Guzzi V7 and went to concours 14, eventually had a 2002 VTX 1800r what a great bike! currently on a Vulcan 2000 but miss the VTX
Nice rides 👌
Hey brothers. Does this throttle application allow 100% range of throttle? Just had a Kustom Tech Internal Throttle done on my Night Rod Special with 16” t-bars and the shop that installed it here in Sweden said that the throttle body is normal to only open up about 70% with this setup. Seems pretty fckd up to me. When I asked them about it they said ”Well how often do you really go full throttle? We never” while I was thinking to myself that I go full throttle almost every ride… Would be extremely thankful for any help or advice on potential tweaks. Cheers guys
Yes. The throttle blade total opening is dependant on where the cable is cut/set etc. So yes. You should have 100% range of throttle.
Would love too stretch my gsx750f but no one seems to do it ,cracking vid👍
I'm sure you can find a shop near you that can do a custom arm ?
nice video man! i want to extend my back wheel about 1 inch 1/2 , do you know what chain size i would need? thank you! (suzuki gsxr 1000)
If you buy a 130 link, you'll have more than enough. Then just cut a few extra links away. 🤙🤙
How much did you put in there
If you buy the counteract beads they come in pre-bagged ounces. Different quantities for different applications 👍
@@ChampionCycle thank you

I have a 06 Stratoliner that i want to do a 21" fat spoke on front and a 16" in the rear. what all would i need to change/ which rim(from what year model harley) should i purchase? Thanks Greg
Sound like a fun project. Unfortunately we haven't done a conversion between those model yet so we wouldn't know. You'd have to buy the rim based on measurements as best you can. Then you'll like have to change/spacers & bearings accordingly . 🤙🤙
Great, thanks so much for the advice and hopefully ill figure it out or if all else fails ill just sell the new rims to someone who can use them.@@ChampionCycle
Thats a nice bike 🎉
🤙🤙
Is the ninja 400 can it be stretch
Anything can be stretched bruv
How much did this run roughly cost you guys?
Don't remember particularly. However I can say after parts and labour these jobs should be $800 ish.
My first Real big twin 2010 roadstar 1700 FI cobra pipes cane with. How do I get rid of the back firing without any major upgrades?
Easy. Bypass the pair valve system. And ditch the p.o.s. cobra tuner as it's useless. Buy a power commander and have it dyno tuned. 🔥🔥
Should be retitled as how to damage your motorcycle...
Good idea. 🤣🤣 smh
@@ChampionCycle Good to see your got a good sense of humour..lol
