    Update: since getting my tires change and having the balancing beads put in, there has been almost no variance or loss in tire pressure. I check my pressure weekly, and it's always spot-on! So now safety and performance are not compromised

    I have a Buell XB12X. How do I know which beads and how much beads to put in my tires? Thanks

      Usually it's 1oz front and 2oz rear. But the package should say

    That's great, thanks! Just wondering do these work well inside a regular tube? I've got a 1988 SR400 with tubed tyres but I expect the beads to wear down the tube untill it blows, is this an issue?

    Are there any negatives to these? I imagine they don't work well at low speed, but then again I imagine they're not needed at low speed

      2oz per tire, an almost all motorcycle tire. 1oz for below 100 and 3 oz for over 230 tires.

      @ChampionCycle do you remove the oem clip on weights from sportbike rims when you put on a set of new tires and use beads?

    • @freebehindbars8654

      @@gn4221 yes. Definitely remove the weights

    • @gn4221
      @gn4221 6 місяців тому

      @freebehindbars8654 thanks for replying. I had a set installed at my local moto mechanic shop but the guy left those on and just filled the beads inside and left the oem weights on the wheels. I never even knew about those beads, and since researching I'm getting a mixed signal some say it's messing up inside of the tires, some say it's not good for 150+ mph sportbikes but more suitable for cars and cruisers. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Leave them the way they are, go back to have him remove weights onky or remove it all and just slap on balancing weights the original way 🤔

    it probably takes the same if not less time to go through the valve.

    • @ChampionCycle

      It takes longer. And they jam all the time. We've used both methods thousands of times.

    Cool video but why not mention how many oz per wheel?

    • @ChampionCycle
      @ChampionCycle  2 роки тому +1

      They very between bike types and wheel styles way too much to begin touching on. However, it's an easy calculation. The answer is: each package tells you what type of bike it's for and how many Oz, to put in each wheel. 🤙🤙

    • @kerflavid
      @kerflavid 2 роки тому

      @@ChampionCycle I have the same question. At :35 you say the beads find the heavy spot and stay with it. I know they just move wherever they need to within the tire to seek a balance but it doesn't seem logical that they would move to the existing heavy spot in the tire making it even heavier in that spot and that somehow would create a balanced tire.

    Balancing beads suck. If the bike sits for a while the beads will stick to one side and will be unbalanced for the first few miles of riding. They are also way more expensive than weights and i have had they get stuck in the valve stem where it let all of the air out of the tire. They work, but they suck
