Make sure you use 2 wheel chocks when doing this repair. Particularly if your driveway is not flat. You could get run over or your car could end up in the woods if you hit neutral while under the hood.
Good call. I didn't think it would do that since the car is not on. But I guess it's because you can potentially move the gear manually by moving the shifter cable?
@@BWTECH0521 I replaced the bushing on my 9-5 twice. It was probably easier to work on it in another gear than park. Anyways, while moving the bracket attached to the transmission i found neutral and the car took off. I ran, jumped in and hit the brakes before going head on into a tree. I could have been run over. I also have a video but for the 9-5 bushing.
Seems to be better and better ! I can expect top down and good vibes when visit the States on the next year! 😎 I recall my Sonata 2 shift lever was slopping as your symptom! 😂 So, I changed whole new shift lever. Overall, nice and tight and..that’s all. 😂
Nice! I think the bushings are different on the 9-5 but same principal. I heard good things about these guys - www.bushingfix.com/saab-9-5-shifter-cable-bushing-repair-kit/?srsltid=AfmBOoqmi2gIxLd9O7YiR-txqG_TJfIdZfXvPj15uY6qh06xF8L8q2so
Same basic idea but the bushing is different. The 9-5 bushings can be found here - www.bushingfix.com/saab-9-5-shifter-cable-bushing-repair-kit/?srsltid=AfmBOoqyhGasDx-6sOS9cuejgMZTS-P6jmrfyEHsaIRY2ReeqQ7DuTvR

Is this the same for the automatic 9-5?
