First of all, the distinction between headphone mixing/ listening is classified as binaural. Listening/mixing in speakers are stereo. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. For eg. You're not gonna get the haas effect for the low end on stereo, but you do get a lovely low end Haas effect on binaural. Same with panning left and right. Generally, you mix for both headphones and speakers. If you really want to feel like you're in a room, better than those virtualization plugibs, you can create your own HRTF of your ears and import those parameters onto the masterbus of your output (whether in DAW, max msp or, ugh, MATLAB etc...). Then the worlds your oyester. If you have headphones with a gyro, you can even enable that to add to the realism of a room. There's a lot you can do for space Virtualization in binaural( like impossible geometries in reverb and other spatiotemporal experiments) that's very difficult or impossible with stereo, Multi-channel or wave field synthesis. For me i think, they are all good it depends on the person's needs Depends if you can blast music or have money Because speakers are clearly better but 8f you are outside for me tws are better Not for music quality but for anc Only because i ran a lot and headphones are uncomfortable and i sweat too much with headphones Plus if you are at home speakers are better but headphones maybe could be good if you live inside an apartment with thin walls or american uni campus type of situation

i just tried this software using my salnotes zero 2 when i turned on the fidelity mode with max bar i didn't hear any difference any solution ?

The problem is the sound produced by headphones will be better than speakers in an untreated room. But yeah for amateurs, listening to music through laptop speakers is enough.

I feel like headphones are better than speakers not because they don't sound spacious like speakers but more detailed and bypasses the problems of room acoustics. For me they are a cheat code. It's not like speakers, it's next level...but then again the sound isn't as grand as in speakers...

Headphones certainly have their place. I have a reference-grade speaker setup, and even then, there are times when I crave listening to something on headphones, especially ASMR.
