Alcohol Ink Painting - I will prevail

I have been practicing a specific technique a lot lately to give my paintings a new dimension and love it. However, this particular painting did not start out as my friend which is why it is so long (I trust you will fast forward throught the boring parts). The paint just did not want to flow like I wanted it to. I was just about to stop and set it aside for another time when I started to like ...
Playing with Alcohol Ink on Canvas
Переглядів 3962 роки тому
Join me for an adventure in creating an alcohol ink painting on canvas. I find canvas a more difficult substrate to deal with but I love it. I am still trying to decide if I like working on unprepared canvas or ones with a double layer of kilz2. You get very different results either way. This painting is unplanned - once I had some ink down, an idea started to form and I went with it. Materials...

Experimenting with canvas prepping for alcohol ink painting
Beautiful ❤
Beautiful , thank you for the demo. So interesting How did you get such a small tip on the hair dryer? Did you modify it yourself? Lovely.
Thank you. The hair dryer has attachments that I just don’t use.
Where did you get the circle to work on and what is it made of? Where does a piece of art like yours get sold?
cut my paper to the size I want. I use paper called Nara, a company in India. You can also get different sizes of this paper on amazon. I have a website and display my work at art markets and in local galleries and businesses.
Super nice. I am totally new to this, I want to buy copic ink but all I can find are markers and refills for markers. The ones you are using seem like pens. Any help would be appreciated
Thank you ☺ The refills for the markers is what you want, they have a small opening and you can apply the ink directly on the paper.
@@tangledartisticdesigns thank you so much, didn’t want to buy the wrong thing. Your work is amazing, love your dots
Wow so beautiful
Can you share which dryer you use?
I use a 500 watt revlon hair dryer on low. Any low wattage will do as long as it has a low and cool setting. ☺️
It is amazing how much control you have putting the ink where you want it. This is beautiful.
Thank you so much ☺️
WOW and WOW!!! Beautiful you are so so talented and inspiring! Don’t think I could do anything like this I’m just new!😂😂 Magic is what you do so well. 🥰🥰😍❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇬🇧🐶🐶
Awe, thank you so much ☺
Absolutely stunning!!!😃
Thank you bery much ☺
Wow so pretty ❤️😍🇩🇰
I think this so beautiful, what kind of paper you use, thank you for showing us your beautiful art
Thank you ☺ I use Nara synthetic papr, but any synthetic paper works.
I love this💖You make it look so easy..love your patience with this type of painting. Very helpful..hope to see more of your ideas!💞💞
Thank you so much ☺
This is so fantastic it takes my breath away! I love that you take control of this difficult medium to craft, form, "carve," and otherwise build this beautiful image by mastering the composition and the wondrous effects of soft edge and hard edge achievable with alcohol inks. Way to go!
Thank you so much. I love this medium ☺👏
Can you please send the link for hair dryer.i am struggling al lot for a good cold dryer.
You are so talented. it is so beautifull. Thank you for showing your skill
I love this... I already have the materials and it is inspiring me to have another go.... Hazel
Is your dryer on high or low?
It is always on low ☺️
I jut found your videos... so inspiring. One question... you dilute your brass.. with what? alcohol? Thank you,
Thank you! Your video is mezmerizing! Watching it is very relaxing and inspiring!
Your voice is so calming and beautiful as is your work!
Thank you so much. ☺
Lindo amei
What type of dryer do you use
It is a revlon 500 hair curling brush - it comes with different attachments but they all went in the trash ☺️
So beautiful…. Do you empty your Copic markers into a needle tip bottles or is it an attachment to the tip of the marker? Thanks
i don’t use the markers themselves, I use the refills you can get for them. Makes it much easier as they have a small tip ☺️
Loved watching & learning from this video. Many thanks. ❤
Beautiful
You make it look so easy! I watched this and went to try. I cannot seem to keep it in a line! Thanks for the tutorial. You’ve shown me it can be done, with patience. Now I just need to find some 😂
Thank you Patti. Yup, practice, practice, and more practice. Just make sure you are having fun too ☺
It's very meditative to watch. I love how the gold gets pushed around on the surface edge of the ink/alcohol but seems to be randomly deposited from beneath as the ink dries. Anyway, it's very beautiful ❤
Thank you so much ☺
magnifique résultat !! mais je ne comprend pas votre technique désolée
WOW! Beautiful!
Thank you so much.☺
I loved it. Sorry I coud'nt see the masking apply and the final details. Thank you so much
Thank you ☺Editing a video right now on a painting using masking fluid. Should be up in a couple of days.
Thank you! @@tangledartisticdesigns
Awesome technique. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you so much ☺
Excellent work❤
Hi Shirley, would you mind telling me if the hairdryer you use is set to a low cool setting, as mine doesn't have a cool option. Many thanks.
Mine has three setting including low and cool. I use low the most as cool is a little faster and low produces better ripples ☺️
beautiful work.
Thank you 😊
Was für ein Föhn verwändest du und woher hast du diesen? What kind of hairdryer do you use and where did you get it?
I use a revlon brush dryer with the brush removed. I got it off of Amazon but there are many other makes you can get, just try to get a lower wattage and multi temp/speed as I use the low speed.
Es maravilloso el tutorial....me gusta mucho tu estilo. Me gustaria saber donde puedo comprar un dray-hair like your....for make slouly the work with the air and colours. Gracias...❤❤❤
Thank you 😊 I got my hair dryer from amazon. Any hair dryer with low wattage will work fine. Mine is 500 watt. Travel hair dryers work great. Mine is a curling brush dryer with the brush removed.
@@shirleywhite6621 gracias.
What are the long nose bottles you use, as here in the uk i can only find the small bottles that have short noses. Your work is beautiful, im just starting out and have a lot to learn
Thank you 😊 I got those bottles off of Amazon - they are really inexpensive and work great. The other thing many people is a is a pipette and a cup of alcohol. Those you can get at any art store.
Thank you
A smooth colour combination! Great, I love it❤How can I seal this ink paintings?
Thank you ☺ I seal all my paintings with several light coats of a non alcohol based varnish like Krylon or Windsor Newton.
The colours are wonderful… thank you for sharing your work. The alcohol you use is an enigma to me. How come is moving so slow and controlled? Do you add any blending solution?
Thank you so much. I do not use blending solution, just 99% IPA. I have a hair dryer that has low speed and I just take my time ☺️
Thank you for letting me know this. What setting are u using cool or warm???
Lovely work! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much ☺️
I absolutely love this, it’s beautiful! Which copic colors did you use in the greenish colors, I noticed that those colors were also in the same copic bottles as well. These are beautiful colors together! 🙌🏽😍
Thank you so much ☺️ The colours I used are in the description - a mix of copic and ranger.
It's very beautiful
Thank you ☺
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much ☺️
I just found your video and within a minute subscribed to your channel. This piece is simply stunning… 😍 I just started alcohol ink and and fell in love with this form of art. I think it’s gone be a long journey I have one question: do you varnish it once finished, if so with what product?
Thank you so much ☺ It is addictive and takes lots of practice. Have fun 👏👏
Marvelous❤️❤️ Do you have link to share the brand of the colors that you used?
Thank you. ☺ I do not have a link, the exact colours I used are in the description for the video.
@@shirleywhite6621 what brands?
Wow, that is so AMAZING! I love watching your videos :) Do you use the 150 microns or the 250 microns?
Thank you ☺ I use either 330 or 430 micron paper as it has less tendency to warp.
P.S. Can I suggest sme music or something while watching :)
Thanks Bobby. I find when I am watching videos I generally turn the music down myself and do lots of forwarding and rewinding so I assume others do the same. I have music on a few of my videos and have comments both ways. I guess if I add music and people don’t like it they can always turn it down ☺
I seen Copics at the beginning, did you use them somewhere? Also when you were doing the dots, were you using alcohol on the brush, or white paint? This is the first video I have watched of yours, can I say WOW!!!
Thank you so much ☺. The copic colour I used in this is cardinal, the others are Ranger inks. For the dots, I was using alcohol on a small brush.
Bravo!
Thank you ☺️
Really beautiful! How many watts this hairdryer has?
Thank you so much. The dryer I use is 500watts.
