Creating an Emergency Wine Box from Rubbish Wood
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
Can I create something attractive and useful from rubbish wood that was otherwise destined for the rubbish heap? Join me for my first attempt at making a woodworking video. This video is a submission for the #rubbishwood21 challenge set up by Mark Dainer from the Dainer Made UA-cam channel. Watch as I create a hanging wooden box to hold a cask wine bladder for my workshop, and do it all from ru...
Now THERE is an arcade cabinet that would look right at home in your mancave/home pub. Fantastic job!
aren't you supposed to never ever EVER stick anything else on a saw table? Like using a stick to push the other wood through it?
Not sure exactly which part of the video you're referring to, but if you mean the magnetic guide bearing I use, all that is doing is giving me a repeatable thickness. It's placed well before the blade avoiding pinching at the front, the splitter is in place behind the blade to avoid pinching at the back, and the main bulk of the piece is still pushed up against the fence. If you're talking about the actual pushstick itself, I use lots of different pushsticks, from composite microjig models, to wood ones I've cut. But when it comes down to it, I do every thing as safely as I can to avoid injury. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for bringing it up! 👍🏻

LOVED this video!! What a beautifully made machine, in both form and function. Never seen a cabinet that had such charm and personality. - 48 yr old Galaga fanatic
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Greatly appreciated. And here's another 48 year old Galaga fan. Maybe not fanatic, but I loved that style of game. 1942 was up there for me too. Thanks for dropping a comment! Truly made my day. 🙏🏻
Nice, what does she weigh? Only about 450 lbs.?
😂 No, total weight under 150 lbs. (67kg)
Some pallets also have smooth sheets of plywood over the top to slide loads off and on with ease. This type of pallet would also benifit a cabinet build.
For sure! It could have been used in the base, the keyboard tray, and even furring strips. Great idea! Cheers. 👍🏻

Plans please.
You made a 40 year old kid extremely happy with this build ! Subbed :)
Thanks Chris! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping in! 👍🏻
Fun!
Thank You Steve! 🙏🏻
Looks like it too.
Thanks for the compliment! 👍🏻
My six terabytes of ssd storage are almost full i think it is time for cloud storage imo
???
But how do you make buttons from old wooden pallets? Looks good dude.
Oh yeah, how that would be a good challenge! Perhaps for the next one. Great idea!! 👍🏻
More Japanese/asian inspired wood plans please
Currently working on another project. Watch this space! Cheers!
Thanks for this, very enjoyable 🙂
Thank you for the positive comment! Glad you enjoyed it. 👍🏻
Need a full wood working shop for this, could buy a rea😊dy made machine for all5(3 tools ya need,😂😂😂😂
A ready made machine wouldn't have allowed me to create content for trolls to comment on, so I guess this way you & I both win! 😜 Cheers for stopping by.
Neat!
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Amazing! Just got back from Hiroshima/Kyoto/Tokyo myself! Please add me to the list of makers interested in a set of plans for this!
Awesome! I'm currently in Himeji, heading to Hiroshima tonight. The plans are mostly ready so I hope to get them out before Christmas. Consider yourself added! Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏻
ARCALLET era un mejor nombre :V
Amazing!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. 🥂
you could have saved yourself a massive amount of work by just buying an led long bulb from amazon for 3 dollars and screwing it in for the marque.
Yes, I could have. But I already have a stack of these LED strips sitting around doing nothing. Cheers for the alternative though.
mi sueño desde niño es tener una de esas. 😄
You got some nice looking pallets in the Australia 😂 it’s thin crooked pine junk in the US
We definitely get some trash pallets as well, but we mostly do have the fortune to pick & choose. Thanks for watching!
That was really awesome mate! Well done!!! Big brohugs 🫂👊🏼
Thanks mate! Very much appreciated. And very glad you enjoyed it. 🙏🏻
please i want to open a game shop in nepal
Do it! I'm not sure how you'd go about using unlicensed games like the one I've built to charge money, but make it happen! This arcade machine is only for private fun - no money generated. Best of luck! 💪🏻
Excellent work! I have a name for your game room: Wooden Balls Arcade 🤣
I like it! Hoping to add more games created from wood as well so I might have to rethink it a little. Thanks for stopping by! 🙏🏻
Fabulous
Cheers!
fkin cool the wooden color on your cabinet
Cheers! Yeah it really popped. Thanks for commenting. 👍🏻
cool project
Thanks Michael! 👍🏻
Amazing work you've done. I can see why you are so proud of your lantern. Congratulations.
Thank you so much! Very proud, and happy that others get to see it. Thanks for commenting! Much appreciated.
Hello. Really good job Sir 👍🏼. Inspirational
Thank you to you! Thanks for watching & leaving a comment. Means a lot. 🙏🏻
Yes, please sell the plans!
Thank you! I will do, as soon as they're done. I'm working on them, albeit slowly. Cheers. 👍🏻
Excellent video. Also very interested in Japanese artefacts, especially lanterns. Would love to purchase any plans..
Yes, I love the simplicity of many Japanese things, but the complexity involved in building them. I'll let you know when the plans are ready. Cheers! 🤗
nice work. now lets play Donkey Kong.
😁 Yes!!! Got a goal to break 100k points one day. But also got a goal to have a single digit golf handicap and I doubt I'll ever achieve either! ⛳😂
More clickbait garbage
🤣🤣🤣🤡
🤣🤣🤣🤡
wow very nice job.
Thank you! Much appreciated. 🙏🏻
I have been waiting a long time for someone to build a top quality wooden Japanese Lantern on UA-cam, and you are the man. It’s beautiful and excellently constructed. And as most have said I would like to get hold of a plan please.
Thank you for taking the time to watch & comment. I have started working on plans & will definitely let you know when they're ready! Cheers. 👍🏻
Great work!! I would love plans for this.
Thanks! Working on the plans already (slowly), and I'll be sure to let you know when they're available. Regards. 🙏🏻
What a great video, too bad about the coyright and algoritm thing. Don't worry too much about it, good videos tend to blow up again later. The coffee was great BTW!
Thanks Jesper! And glad you liked the coffee. Might have to make a trip back to europe soon to get some more. Cheers for the words of support. It just gives me motivation to make more videos now! Thanks for watching.
Awesome work. Just amazing!
Thank you very much! Appreciate you taking the time to comment. 🙏🏻
Well done. I'm into this stuff. Recycled timber is good. Nice cheap stain and materials.
Thanks! 👍🏻 Yeah, the cheap materials was a bonus, but I loved every minute of making it. Thanks for watching!
You should be proud Jamie, that's some beautiful work. I wouldn't worry about not making many vids, the ones you do are better filmed and edited than the majority of maker content out there! You are getting at least 3x the views of mine with 1/3 the subs. That's a great ratio.
Thanks for the kind words James, and I truly appreciate your support. For most of us it still feels like we're making videos because we love to share, so as long as it stays that way for me I'll be happy. Although a silver play button would put me in the cool club with Jesper & Dainsey! 😂😂😂 Aspirations.
Strong work !
Thank you! It was a fun project.
The final product is beautiful. Do you know how much it weighs?
Thank you very much. I'm actually not sure about weight and I did promise someone else I'd weigh it one day, but once again I'm out of the country. I'll see what I can do in July & try to reply then.
Yes plans would be great
This is an awesome project. I am definitely going to be trying the bent wood lamination tricks you showed! My next birdhouse might need a new theme!
It's easy once you get the right balance of not too much bending in one go. Would love to see what you make with the technique! Thanks for watching!
Awesome was lost after the first few steps... Definitely put the plans up for people smarter than me 😉
Cheers Romeo! Plans are in the works. Just need a little time off to compete them. Perhaps at the end of May.
Very nicely done. Congratulations on your lantern! I for one would be interested about those plans for this lantern you mentioned.
Thank you very much! I'll be sure to notify everyone when plans are available.
This is absolutely beautiful please provide the plans thank you
Thank you Michael! I'll notify everyone when they're ready.
Beautiful 💜 Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome, and thanks for commenting! ☺️ Greatly appreciated.
Nice piece of work. Chamferization is not really a word. II really hope u know that.
Ahhhh, but I'm spelling mine with an 's'! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching.
