@1:19. It’s a bolero hat.
This is why there is a revolt on steam for God of War Ragnarok in discussions, many are vocally objective to this unecessary PSN assault on single player games.
Your game idea sounds more fun than 90% of releases today
Puppies! Sorry... got ahead of myself. I had to double-check if I clicked on the right video. They're adorable though.
Game journos telling us EA's checks bounced without telling us
thank you cthuhlu lady. every single sentence is the absolute truth. best of luck with the adorable puppies.
Sounds to me like yet another win to throw on the pile.
The message i took away from Dragon age: the Veilgaurd: Non-binary people are sexually aggressive, annoying narcissists that ruin everything... I hope that is what they wanted me to learn 🤷♂️
Let us be honest. We had TotalBiscuit, the ONLY gaming journalist who looked after us, regular gamers. Now he's gone and there is nothing and noone in gaming media worth our time or money.
I don't think they tried to not offend anyone, just specific groups. To the point that it almost feels like excluding certain groups was the very point.
Puppies are wonderful! So was Betty White! I do not pity the fool who would besmirch her good name in my presence, for such people are beneath contempt! I remember her from reruns of The Mary Tyler Moore Show when I was a kid, among so many other wonderful things she appeared in since then, and she was always hilarious.
I'm not really gonna bring anything productive to the conversation because I just got off work so I'll say this: PUPPIES!
Well, I've never been impacted negatively by season passes, but I appreciate Steam for this
based lady spitting facts.
I've never really been burned by Season Passes, but this is good news, regardless.
You're not crazy - despite your great old one appearance. I don't think our santized version of D&D in 2024 is really doing anyone any favours. Old man storytime, I played D&D in the 80's during the satanic panic era and TSR at the time rolled back using Devils and Demons. 2e Demons were called "Tanar'ri", Devils were called "Baatezu", and daemons were called "Yugoloths" the terms Demon and devil were not used in 2e. By 3e all of the usage of Devils and Demons came back - even though all of us players knew exactly what they were all along. I'm not sure how trying to take horrible practices like slavery out of the game makes it any better for kids. Anyway - you're not crazy! (Unless I am too and I no ability to judge such things)
Well, Steam seems to have our backs for some things. That's good. That's better than some "Unnamed" games developer. The pups are looking good.
I've never really cared much about the game awards outside of the occasional trailer debut. The awards are just a big marketing and money scheme like all the other Hollywood award shows. The lax rules aren't anything new either. That's not what burns my ass. What gets me is the 90/10 skew away from player's choice, and especially the list of apathetic entities within that 90% that barely even have anything to do with gaming, but they're there because clout and activism. Just enjoy the trailers and drink every time you see Mountain Dew, Doritos, or a cringey moment. That's all these awards are worth.
Best gaming news in weeks 🎉
Steam has always been at the forefront of customer service, that's why they're on top. I remember when Jim Sterling was going on about quality control on Steam back when he was still pretending to be a consumer advocate, yet he never thought to push for a return policy, likely because it would've undermined his friends in the indie space shilling for walking sims, but that's what makes Steam different from the rest, they leave the power in the hands of the buyer.
A Battle Pass is "active" DLC that's implemented over a short period of time (usually a month or less) or a specific event (Valentine's Day, etc). As the player, you actively work to unlock the DLC until you finish the Pass through gameplay. Battle Passes can be bought usually using either real money or in-game currency. If you don't finish or play the Pass, you lose out on the DLC until the dev decides to reintroduce it (get it while it's available or it's gone). A Season Pass can only be bought with real money and usually details the DLC over a period of months to a year. Everything covered by the Pass is unlocked whether you play the game or not and there is no time limit on when you can buy it. You're also allowed to buy DLC from the Pass separately if you want.
adorable puppies, awesome step for steam and the consumers that should be industry standard!
I forgot what season passes were because I haven't played a game with them in so long. Makes you wonder what game caused them to create these new rules 🤔
Puppies are adorable.
6:36 thanks steam you just explain and push for the obvious description of what DLS is you did an amazing revolution yet again
I’ve been fortunate enough not to have been negatively impacted by season passes. But I also didn’t buy a lot of them. I mostly buy games years after release so the season pass is already complete. Those few games where I did buy a game relatively new and bought the season pass, they delivered everything. It’s great that Steam is making a very pro-customer policy like this. Now we just need to see how developers/publishers respond.
are u trying to kill us with cutness before u start the video? 😆
Yes. Dead people don't click off videos. If I'm lucky, you'll have auto play on and it'll play more of my videos! 😈

Since it won't let me edit my comment, you get a second one. Steam making sense to gamers is gonna get them in trouble! Don't they know that's not how to maneuver in gaming anymore?! *apparently YT removed my first comment* no biggie. Please accept this lone one. Lol.
I bought myself BG2 for $5 and wholeheartedly hope it helps BioWere with unemployment 💜💙🖕💚💛
i don't like turn baste but i would rather play BG3 then this mess (DAV), i am ok with the semi turn paste like in DAO and neverwiter knights 1-2
@@ShadowWizard nice, I grew up with BG's active pause and Fallout 1,2's turn based combat. I've spent some serious hours as a kid on games that were waay to difficult for me to complete sometimes 😅
@@justaquietpeacefuldance my first rpg were Arcanum diablo 2 and nox, Arcanum has interesting element, when u quick travel u mite get stopped cause of ambush, when i played DAO and quick traveled i was like lol cause same thing happened there, second game with this element i played and don't know any other game with it video about Arcanum ua-cam.com/video/HMUugZ3DxH8/v-deo.html&t
The plain and simple truth is that this game is very, very clearly still using the skeleton of the live service it was supposed to be originally. 6 faction backstory choices, half of them with completely new factions that aren't written well, and with the Veil Jumpers and Lords of Fortune CLEARLY being named like Marvel factions. The Fortnite art style, the incredibly surface level combat with green health pots everywhere, the gutted companion support in combat, the utter lack of things like companion gift cutscenes, and on and on. The game was written like garbage because all the good writers left. They weren't expecting to write a real RPG story, so when they pivoted back to single player like the fans wanted, now they just have a ton of amateurs trying to ape good story writing. Instead of fully scrapping and overhauling the work that was done for the live service, like they should have, now it's this horrid abomination of mechanics from all over the place, and ends up being a 2/10 garbage game with no audience. Meanwhile, regardless of if they wanted to have a trans character, they HAD to write it meaningfully and they HAD to make them likable, which they failed to do in every regard. Taash is the most hated companion in BioWare history, even for fans of Veilguard. There wasn't nearly this level of backlash to BG3 despite BG3 being just as gay friendly, because the game was made well. Plain and simple. Was a no-contest GOTY winner. It's not the inclusion itself that's the problem, it's the garbage, ham fisted, incredibly forced, poorly written inclusion that pisses off every single corner of the fandom, that's how you lose.
The one dimensional characters seem to be the perfect reflection of the writers.
Awesome post - very well said!
It's almost for sure that the whole "accessibility" thing was basically just a participation trophy, they HAVE to somehow validate the existence of that soulless, corporate product to make the egg on their face look slightly less bad. They do have their access to think about.
There's someone making "the real game awards" and geoff is getting nervous trying to trademark game awards. Wake me up later on january when steam does the steam awards (at least you know those are voted by its userbase) Also: Multipla Yer (I'm spanish, so idk the syllable rules but just wanted to make the joke) The abysm Al critic
Most anticipated game "they ignore the existance of doom the dark ages" Also, the entrylist deadline got changed 2 days earlier, stalker 2 gets out of nominations because of it.
Digital Extremes and Warframe as a live service should be on the continuous service award for nine years, big Tennocons, and a happy community for the most part. Just goes to show they have never considered the indie out there, especially when the board is CEOs from all the major companies that make up the industry
This continues to happen because these companies have been infiltrated by people who put The Message above all else. Until they realize that is a problem, they will continue to fail outside of a small contingent of people who are equally devoted to that message. Much like most Christian* "entertainment". *As a Christian, I hate that this is the case, but I can't deny the reality of the situation. We need more C.S. Lewis and Tolkien less of whoever created Bibleman. If you haven't heard of that one, be glad.
Yay! Puppies! ❤😍 All these awards shows are working, though. I'm super curious about Metaphor now. I think it was funny to listen to Sungrand Studios, I think the term he used for the character's dialogue was "Verbal diarrhea." For me, the writing of Veilguard is more complete than the series has done since Origins. It's not as good as Origins, but you can see what they were aiming for. I also find it more enjoyable than what I've experienced with any Bethesda or Ubisoft game. Not huge hurdles, but Veilguard doesn't help itself with some of its dialogue for sure.
