Thank you so much for visiting my channel, I hope you enjoy your time here! In these videos I create, I will be sharing with you my experiences and adventures on my three motorcycles - a 2014 Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200, a 2021 Kawasaki KLX300S dual sport, and my nearly classic 1996 Suzuki Intruder VS1400!
I also buy and sell bikes when opportunities present themselves so I’ll be sharing some bike reviews and modification/repairs videos. I ride in central Florida and when you see my Kawasaki in the woods, you can bet it will be Richloam, Croom, or Green Swamp I’m visiting. I try to reply to all comments the best I can, even if not in a timely fashion! This channel is only a hobby of mine but I’d like to spend more time making videos for people with similar interests. Thanks again for visiting and I’m hoping you’ll subscribe and come back again soon. Take care and ride safe!

Should you ride after a health scare?
I'm not usually one to share personal issues on this channel but the future of my riding is in limbo. Please watch and comment. I'd particularly like to hear how you dealt with a situation like I describe.
Quick update since filming: Surgery is not going to happen at this point. It might be something I need to consider in the future but not right now. Yay!

I had made some performance changes to the KLX300 and I had not adjusted the EJK in quite a while, so I figured I'd roll the video while I make a couple tweaks! If adjusting the EJK fuel controller intimidates you, watch this and see how easy it is. Even a dummy like me can do it! *Disclaimer: Proper tuning of a motorcycle engine should be completed by a professional shop with professional equi...
KLX300 Test Ride with NO Secondary Plate!!!

OK, now I finally get to see what ALL the hype is over removing the SECONDARY THROTTLE PLATE in my KLX300 dual sport! Will it be a transformational mod? Will it be a big an epic fail? Or, will it be somewhere in the middle? Come with me as I do a little pavement and a little off roading with the newly modified Kawasaki KLX300!

Kawasaki KLX300 dual sport and SM bikes have a secondary throttle plate in the the throttle body between the air box and the main throttle controlled butterfly plate. It restricts air into the throttle body which results in lags during acceleration particularly up to 7,000 RPMs (approx.). In this video, I show you a brief overview of what needs to be done to remove this plate and open up the tr...

Suzuki Intruder 1400 - How to prime the carb for easier starting!
Переглядів 7 тис.Рік тому
This is a very easy process and should be done anytime you let your bike sit for an extended period of time. If you ride regularly, there won't be much need to prime the carb. This bike has been sitting for a very long time. I was actually surprised the battery was still juiced up.

I hace the klx 300 and... 110km/h Max 😂
What can I do if I stripped it .
Hope you are doing well. Getting old does suck. I am 54 and have similar neck problems. As an older rider, mortality does creep into my thoughts more often than it used to. I can't imagine not riding so I think the best thing for me is to be extra aware of my riding and riding habits. I try to wear the helmet more often and don't take the chances I took when in my 20's and 30's. I remember way back when I took a motorcycle class to get my license, the older instructor said when you start to experience a fear of riding or crashing, you should hang up the motorcycle gear for good. That has always stuck with me and while I do have the feeling of riding with extra caution I do not yet experience fear. When I do have that feeling of fear, I'll get rid of the two wheels and move to a trike.
Lol, great video! I knew I wanted to be a motorcyclist since I was around 7. A friend's father on my street was a motorcycle cop and he'd come home while we were outside playing and let me sit on his police motorcycle. From that point forward I knew I was meant to be on two wheels. You hit it on the head about motorcycle ownership being less expensive. For several years, during my college days, I was broke and my only mode of transportation was my motorcycle. As long as there was no snow or ice on the roads I was on the bike. I had a part time job in downtown Cleveland where parking could get expensive. I found a parking garage that would let me park the bike for free everyday since I didn't take up a parking space. I'd park right next to attendant booth. So I had free parking and my bike was watched over by the attendant. And yes, the best part of motorcycle ownership are the ladies 🙂 Some of my best memories of being on the bike are of having a beautiful babe sitting behind me with her legs and arms wrapped around me. Cheap and easy foreplay for sure, lol.
You may want to open the throttle plate and stuff a rag behind it before you start. Especially if you don't know what you are doing.
Have had my 96 Intruder 1400 since 1998 and I love it now as much as I did the first day I got it. 52,000 miles and it's in the shop now for it's first major repair. Getting the carbs rebuilt. God, I can't wait to get it back and go cruisin!!!
You in NY?
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures No I am in Ohio. I forgot to mention in my original comment that I enjoyed your video!
@@ThomasC-Crazy4NiagaraFalls thank you! I thought you might be from New York based on your name. I’m from upstate New York originally.
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I'm a little over 3 hours away from Niagara Falls and have visited the Falls at least once a year for over 50 years. I've ridden the Intruder and earlier bikes to Niagara Falls many times. Nothing beats cruising on the bike along the mighty Niagara and the Niagara Parkway. Have a great weekend!
Im looking at buying this bike as a second bike to just knock around on. My only issue is the small gas tank. Why cant they put at least a 3.5 gallon tank.
I agree the tank is pitifully small.
I don't even own a bike but I'm looking at the KLX 300 = you've been there -n- done that - Subb'd Up, peace
Thanks!
I only just saw this & the only reason I see it even being there is an air restriction to make the emissions pass? But opening up any stuff like that offers the engine extra air for combustion & that can't be a bad thing. But also you might do the air box and then if you don't add an aftermarket exhaust, consider several cuts into the stock muffler under the heat plate. Open up extra air & you need to allow more to go out the exhaust or that's what I've seen done on the KLX. peace
The little screw in the throttle requires the correct tip size & angle as you found out. I only know as I just watched a guy do it as he explained what happens to a fair number of these attempts. Good job " GiT-R-Done "
Yeah I’ve fallen down that rabbit hole more than once. This bike has an exhaust, free flow filter, and fuel controller.
I am saving for a bike but this is one on my list.... you caught my eye & I don't think I'm here accidentally? See, I've not actually fallen down any rabbit holes yet & when I get going I don't intent to b/c of channels just like This . Thanks for sharing
@@user-dv7hb2sc9m I don’t necessarily mind rabbit holes. They just tend to get expensive!

You mentioned rocking the bike if the neutral light isn't on. What does the rocking do? I parked my 1400 in perfect working order for two weeks and I haven't had a neutral light since then and I'm so puzzled to the point of insanity as to why. Any input would be so appreciated.
The gears don’t always fall into place I’ve found. So rocking it back and forth just helps a little. Did you get yours figured out?
I have the KLX and it's just a short range fighter compared to the CRF Rally. The seat alone prevents me from riding more than 2-3 hours and I even have Seat Concepts. The fuel tank is tiny and the engine quits when there's still 1/8th to 1/4 tank worth of fuel left. A better comparison would be with the non- rally version.
I had a stroke in the recovery room after having c3-7 fused together. I lost my ability to speak and my right side was completely numb. After many hours of therapy I’m able to speak again and walk, my right hand is still numb and no pinch strength. You need to have it fused. Know I’m thinking about riding again but on Social Security it hard to buy a bike. In your case I would have surgery then ride again. Your one ,trip, fall away from being paralyzed with spinal stenosis.
I got lucky In May 2024 I bought a '96 VS 800.....with original 2K miles Shes a garage queen purchased for $2K 5 speed
I got really lucky back in 2018 and picked up my first bike, a VS800, running and driving with 55k miles for 750$ ended up letting her sit after some electrical issues but she’s back on the road and I’m still happy with my purchase!
Where can I find trail's in central Florida
Where specifically? Most of the wildlife management areas are okay to ride as long as your bike is street legal.
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures thanks 👍
It’s too lean, you will feel it better if you add some more fuel. I can hear it breaking up on decel
I have an 06 KLX 250 completely stock and at 200 lbs 6ft tall, it goes 85 top speed. lol I guess I don't need a 300 after all. Sad really. Weight possibly?
It also has Kendra knobbies and a tall windshield.
I don’t think your bike weighs too much. 😉 How fast do you really want that bike to go honestly? Knobbies get torn up pretty quick on pavement at higher speeds. There is not a huge difference with the extra cc engine.
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I don't ride it that fast but I have tested it a few times taking it to work. I try not to take it over 70 maybe 75 now. I have a DR650 for that. I was just noticing that a new 300 wasn't worth getting rid of my 250. I was just surprised honestly and provided real world data for others that might be comparing models. Let the good times roll. 👍
The original gearing is 14/40 maybe thats why you can not reach more speed...
That’s PRECISELY the reason. People seem to think I’m wondering why I can’t get a faster speed but I know why. I’m simply showing the realistic speed when this bike is modified for its real purpose: trail riding.
Just change gear ratio to get to 100mph. Why bother though and seems dangerous.
I noticed a small leak after I would ride. Expansion reservoir was 1/2-full. I would park on the side-stand and a little puddle would appear within an hour, about the size of a quarter. It looked like it was dribbling down the port-side fairing and would drip-off, to the left-side of the bike. I am due for 20k maintenance, so I'll have Triumph take a look. I don't think it's a head-gasket issue. I hope it is not a radiator issue -but it is preferable to a head-gasket leak. I am thinking that it is a hose clamp issue. We shall see......
Mine was indeed the clamp on the hose directly behind the tank. In fact, I recently had it apart to fix another issue (coolant temp sensor) and noticed the clamp was loose again. I think it needs to be a regular maintenance item, or switching to a clamp that stays tight. I’m using a worm gear clamp now but it’s not ideal.
Do even know how to ride, buy a bicycle
Man, I gotta put you on my top 10 list of most impressive people I want to meet! Damn, stud. You are a true tough guy! 💪
Aww crap. Auto correct changed punk ass little bitch to tough guy. Sorry about that.
I was just joking to batter the mood no one can truly understand how to ride unless they are fearless and bold and have passion for adventure
You might have all of these maybe 🤔 I would try to get into short rides then advance to want you like even with health problems you can still ride just be carefull
@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures plus you can't just put people down when you can't ride right now, itchyboots maybe not a good rider but you got to start uploading more of you out there on the trails
BUT I like Itchy Boots better.......I don't care about the bike
Good. I’m sure she loves you too. Actually post a loving comment on her video and I’m sure she will take the time to reply.
I didn't know this thanks
You’re welcome!
The best thing about itchy boots is that she doesn’t suffer from that peculiar male affliction called Opinionitis.
I guess that’s your opinion
It doesn't matter if you have the regular klx or the supermoto version, neither will go much faster than low 80s. They don't have the horsepower to overcome the wind resistance much above 80. You can gear them as tall as you want but it won't increase the top speed. If your speedometer says 90 it's because it's 8-10 percent optimistic.
300cc and runs only 81 max? What a waste bike....!
Hahaha! When you learn more about engines, gearing, and tires come back and comment with some intelligence. 🤣
The secret is to find a big hill.
🤣🤡
I weigh 186, and just today had mine up to 92. It was all she had in her.
I weigh 195-200 but my bike is geared differently too.
You may need to make sure your tank is full of gas that’ll make it shut down when you stand it up
With such a small bike, the rider weight and bike weight are the biggest factors. I’ve gotten mine to 90 on flat roads but I weigh like 145lbs wet.
You should have used the JIS screwdriver that came with the kit. That's what I seen people use and successfully got it off with zero issues. You just use that and some pliers to turn it
why dont you take it on an endurance test
I don’t think she would allow for it but lemme see what I can do.
Who is going 100 mph on a dual sport in the woods?
Nobody
Try sprocket setting
I already have one motorcycle but i have always wanted an Intruder 1400. There is a 97 on Craigslist right now and im seriously tempted to buy it 😂
I can’t remember if it was 1997 or 1998 that Suzuki changed the Intruder over to a 5 speed. I think ‘97. The extra gear makes a big difference when doing any highway speed riding. One bike is good, but two bikes is great! 👍
I bought a 2002 couple of months ago 38,000 on it.Second cylinder I got a little of a back fire.Somebody if u can let me know what I need to do.thank u
Well there’s a couple options or possibilities there. I’d first make sure the plug in that cylinder is good. Maybe swap them out for iridium plugs anyway. Make sure the spark is good and strong. Bad grounds are common on these. More than likely, you’re probably looking at an out of balance low idle circuit otherwise called the air fuel mixture. This is evident when it’s backfiring at idle or just off idle. Bad fuel, dirty carbs, or bad hoses can also be messing with it. There’s a boot that connects to each carb which has failed on me in the past and allows for air to be sucked in. The boot will collapse under throttle. Lastly, you’ll need to check the balancing of both carbs. That’s a little more work and will involve vacuum gauges but it’s not terribly hard. This is noticed in the 2k or so RPM range. When balancing the carbs you need to partially raise idle with the throttle to get the readings. One last tip, run some type of fuel cleaner in the bike every other tank or so. Seafoam is a popular choice but a good fuel system cleaner will do the trick. You do not want trash fuel in the tank because it will clog the jets and vanish the carbs. If available, run pure gas (ethanol free) in whatever grade you can get close to 87 octane. High octane fuel is of no real benefit to these engines. It won’t hurt anything necessarily except your wallet. I just run whatever pure gas I can get along with a few ounces of Seafoam every 1 or 2 tanks to keep stuff clean. A few ounces per tank is fine for maintenance. Good luck!
CRF'S ALL DAY, ANY DAY
Kawasaki just messaged me and asked if I would delete your comment. I refused and defended your right to be uninformed bro. I got your back!

Hi there. I'm sorry the hear about the medical issues you are experiencing. I watched your video to the end and then spotted your update and hope you continue to improve. You were very fortunate the stroke did not leave more damage. I found your channel as I also ride a KLX 300 and live in west central Florida. My story... I got my KLX in April of last year and in June, I developed a macular hole in my right eye. Surgery most likely caused the retina to tear and detach, basically making me blind in the eye. Another surgery and a few weeks later, I was able to take the bike slowly around the block. Five months and yet another surgery restored most of my vision. My thought is to continue to ride as long as you can manage to balance and make good decisions. Sounds like you realize the risk with getting on a bike. What does your family say? I saw others comment on riding in a group and having a satellite communicator. Both are great ideas. If you decide to continue to ride, and you are up for it, let's meet and ride some trails.
Maybe the difference is the pilot. She prove to be a pro. You looks like a looser...
I own 2023 KLX 300 and he’s absolutely correct right out of the box this bike is terrific. Suspension is very capable good acceleration good torque superior ergonomics
Thank you! Finally someone gets my point.
I have a stock 2021 KLX and I’ve hit 84 mph on it several times. I’ve never heard anyone claim the KLX can achieve 100 mph. It’s possible those who are claiming those speeds have the Supermoto’s. The gearing on the KLX is 14/40 while the Supermoto is at 14/37. The tires on the KLX are larger and more aggressive while the SM is smaller, smoother, and designed for pavement. The SM sits lower as well. So I’m guessing you’ve heard those who have the SM, and have modified their bikes to help achieve those higher speeds. I’m still skeptical that there are those who have claimed 100 mph. I have been riding the KLX for many years, back when the 300 had a carb. Again, I have never heard anyone claim those speeds unless you watched those from other countries and they are talking about kilometers, not mph. Maybe?
I’d agree except I’m pretty sure the comments here would show otherwise! My bike is geared lower which definitely attributes to my lower speed but not many people think to ask me! My bike has 14/46 and knobbie tires so the speeds are get are more than I could hope for. I couldn’t care less about my top speed anyway. Being able to ride through mud and sand is way more important for me. I’ll take 80 running down the highway all day with zero complaining. But it’s fun to see people telling me I’m wrong or I’m too fat or something is wrong with my bike because I can’t break 90. Comment sections are comedy gold!
I hit the 299km/h in the klx 300rs 2024
🤣👍
Right, how many countries have you rode your bike in? And how far? Like down the street, maybe.
16 and counting
@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I didn't say county's, I said country's.
I'm 57 and bought my ktm off a 78 yr old who's still riding....So unless i'm paralized i'll be riding 2 wheels until i can't hold a bike up anymore.
