  • Ride along with me for a few minutes on my KLX300 so I can tell you the reasons why I think you should consider buying a motorcycle. They're not the reasons you've heard before probably but they're the ones you need to hear!

    In the 80’s when Japanese bikes were flying high you could buy new bikes that didn’t sell in the current year, New Old Stock for half price new w/ warranty. It didn’t save me money but allowed me more motorcycles!
    So… you left out the best addiction ever. Thanks for the video

      When I bought my Triumph in 2015, it was a leftover 2014 model. I didn’t quite save 50% but a $19k bike ran me $12k after taxes. Not having the newest can certainly save you some coin. The Triumph was also the first showroom new bike I ever bought.

    Lol, great video! I knew I wanted to be a motorcyclist since I was around 7. A friend's father on my street was a motorcycle cop and he'd come home while we were outside playing and let me sit on his police motorcycle. From that point forward I knew I was meant to be on two wheels. You hit it on the head about motorcycle ownership being less expensive. For several years, during my college days, I was broke and my only mode of transportation was my motorcycle. As long as there was no snow or ice on the roads I was on the bike. I had a part time job in downtown Cleveland where parking could get expensive. I found a parking garage that would let me park the bike for free everyday since I didn't take up a parking space. I'd park right next to attendant booth. So I had free parking and my bike was watched over by the attendant.
    And yes, the best part of motorcycle ownership are the ladies 🙂 Some of my best memories of being on the bike are of having a beautiful babe sitting behind me with her legs and arms wrapped around me. Cheap and easy foreplay for sure, lol.

      Some hotels are pretty good about letting bikers park up by the front doors under the awning too. It’s nice because the bike is not likely to get hit by a car or tampered with like being out in the parking lot. I’ve never had a place let me park it for free though. That’s pretty sweet!

    Good video. Just wanted to add that most any bike will do dirt and gravel roads. Even my Kawasaki VN750 and Suzuki Intruder 800 do just fine on dirt and gravel roads. Street tires don't do well on grass, and bikes without skid plates don't do well on rocky terrain. : )

    • @FloridaTwoWheelAdventures
      @FloridaTwoWheelAdventures  8 місяців тому

      You are correct! Not sure if it was obvious, but in that stretch of video when I was on the dirt road I actually elaborated how most any bike will handle dirt hard pack like I was on. However, in order to cut an hour long video down to something people will sit through, it’s necessary to remove things which should be obvious, like that. My Intruder 1400 will go down that very road but I can’t take it up the woods where I normally ride the KLX300.
      It’s also sometimes necessary to add it visuals to the video to engage people. Like the gratuitous pictures of women on bikes! 😂

    Im looking forward to some motocamping this next summer. Im a backpacker but at my age my body doesn't dig it much anymore.
    Ive got some 11,600 ft peaks lined up for this next year.
    I can be there for days and not see another soul.

    • @FloridaTwoWheelAdventures

      Once I have some free time on my hands, I will do some motocamping. Right now with my career usually having me on a midnight schedule, I struggle to find time to do anything I’d like to do. That’s the biggest reason I go so long between making videos, or even riding my bikes. I have about 5 hours of daylight available to me on my days off and I have so many other responsibilities that I lose opportunities to do new things. Plus being 50 (almost) has sapped away some of my stamina - particularly when it comes to sacrificing sleep! 😂

    Well, I bought my motorcycle for the fun factor and the economic factor I bought it used 2020 Honda super cub with 9 miles on it for $3300. It gets 100 miles a gallon and it can run on the cheapest gas and I have been riding it all over creation, but just not on highways, it has been very good but I do not have a rear seat or rear pegs instead I have a 65 L box that’s waterproof and locks so if I did have a girlfriend she would have to get her own super cub but that’s OK I am not ready to take a passenger on yet anyway I’m OK on my own but I do not believe that I have enough experience and I don’t feel comfortable having a passenger at this time But I do have my license and I did pass the motorcycle course with 100 on the written and the practical so that was OK and I have been watching lots of motorcycle safety videos to try to get a good road strategy and I have been using it as my daily driver since October And I have over 2500 miles on it now. I really don’t think it’s gonna help me get any girls that’s not why I bought it because let’s be real it is not a vehicle with 600 hp and guess I’m a loser because I don’t make 100,000 or more dollars a year but I bought it for me not for them, so I’m good with it.

      Good for you man! Enjoy the bike and keep wearing those tires out. Honda makes a great machine and you’ll probably never have a problem with it. Make sure you get the best gear you can afford and be safe out there. Many times, the problem is the other vehicles on the street with you. Think as though every car and truck is trying to kill you and you’ll be safer. Defensive driving is how I guess you’re supposed to say it, LOL.

    • @charleshunt3806
      @charleshunt3806 8 місяців тому

      @@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures unfortunately I started riding motorcycles a little bit later in life so I can definitely afford the gear. In fact, I think that the gear was almost as expensive as the motorcycle. I started with a aray helmet, and I’ll tell you what that thing is comfortable. I can wear it all day long and I do. And I’ve been riding it regardless of any weather that has come my way so far and it’s done well. In addition to the helmet, I also have a good jacket and pants with armor on it. Good boots, and good gloves I had to get heated gloves, cause it was getting cold. so when I bought this, my goal was to get the most inexpensive most reliable machine that I could and I believe I found it in this one. so it weighs 240 pounds so it’s easy to ride and easy to control and it’s pretty easy to stop it from tipping over. And it has fuel injection and analog brakes in the front and LED lights all the way around so that’s cool.

      I keep my content pretty tame for now. I need to color inside the lines while I’m still in my career field. I expect that’ll change in the next couple years. Might even need to tweak my channel name because much of my content ideas have very little to do with motorcycles. Honestly, I struggle to develop motorcycle related content these days. Don’t get me wrong, I love bikes but I’m more about riding them than actually talking about them!

      @FloridaTwoWheelAdventures I bet. There's only so much you can do and say about bikes if you're a guy like us. My life can't evolve around my bike. In the environment we live in now, politics will get a target put on you.
      When you retire, I bet you're going to have the time to explore your options. Maybe some motocaming on the beach or somewhere you can catch some redfish and record it. Sky's the limit, brother. I hope you hit a positive note and make some good money.

    Motorcycles are great. They are uncomfortable noisy wonderfully anti social if thats your thing. You meet great like minded idiots use a allot less fuel than a Bronco so they are actually the most eco friendly transport out there. And non motorcycle riders will never understand perfect linked curves.
