Hi @robbymrodrigez, thanks! The geometry of this part is a bit more complex, which creates more opportunities for acceptance or rejection at the tooling points. In this case, the customer was focused on orientation and requested a rate of just 5 PPM (parts per minute), allowing us to run at a slower speed with fewer rejection points. We can adjust output rates for different products by modifying things like bowl size, tooling, speed, and more.

Great question! The system uses mechanical and pneumatic tooling to reject upside-down caps. Additionally, there is a sensor to detect orientation as a back-up.

Great question. In short, the system is designed to include a gap between the round disk and the rotating bowl. Both components are machined with precise contours to ensure a consistent gap is maintained as the disk rotates.

The outer ring's inner face appears to be spherical, so the disc's incline does not cause a (geometrical) gap.

There are a few possibilities after the screws leave the inline feeder: they can be discharged, counted, and weighed before packaging, or they can be passed to another piece of equipment for the next phase of automation, such as a screw gun. And yep, the discharge of the screws is Vertical. The inline feeder that is carrying the screws is a referred to a Horizontal/Linear/or Inline Vibratory Feeder. Hi @tomasrosalesr - Good question. We provide the vibratory feeder bowl and supporting equipment (Hopper, Inline Track, etc.). Once this system is installed in the customer's facility it will be integrated into other equipment that will take the screws from the discharge to the next phase of automation. Thank you!

Great question! To achieve 500 parts per minute (ppm) in such a small footprint, the feeder needs to be incredibly efficient. The prefeeder needs to be consistent, delivering the right amount of product to the feeder, preventing jams and maximizing output. Additionally, we're continuously looking for opportunities for improvement. One enhancement we've made over the last few years is in the hand-off between the prefeeder and centrifugal feeder. We've reduced the size of the feeder to save space and maximize manufacturing efficiency.
