    Very well said ! Specially at the end about company dictating us how to use the phone. Very good example of if : 5x telephoto zoom. iPhone decides itself when to enable dedicated lens and when to use just crop and we can not influence it which is so annoying.

    I've had a Samsung before and the app development on Android is absolute ass. Devs just treat Android like it's a son that was a mistake and just have to tend to it just because. iOS app robustness and selection is just much better. It's a hard pass on Samsung/Android.

    If you really want an iPhone because you are worried about social status or how others perceive you, stop obsessing over the newest iPhone and learn to manage yourself and your life. This can be done pretty fast by learning new things, working out, reading, going abroad, and many other things. The newest iPhone (or any other flagship) won't magically solve your problems. Life isn't all about social status and likes.

    Completely agree at not being hinged to brands. Buy what you want and need, but I think then it comes down to interoperability across brands. If buying used, then you're ahead I feel more without going Apple due to the resale. GF has a 14Pro on a contract now out of warranty, I picked up a sub year old Motorola Edge 30 Ultra used for $300AUD($200usd), has over a year warranty left (comes with 2yrs). Has twice the storage, twice the ram, just as smooth to use, similar battery and takes better pics with GCam installed, works as a desktop mode etc. The 14Pro was a $1900AUD phone new here. That's a huge difference.

      @@robhughes8516 True our of the box using the Motorola camera app. Using a good GCam build with some tweaks to suit the hardware it does. It flips from 14Pro having better processing (which isn't exactly great but is better) to the 30 Ultra stock. GCam processing is superior to the 14Pro,. mix with the Edge 30 hardware and it's massive free upgrade.. If you look based on spec the 30 Ultra has the camera hardware, could argue it's superior to 14Pro (larger sensors, faster lenses etc), Motorola are just useless at image processing in their App.

    What about all them products that work so well with Apple and you can’t even try using with Android? As a photographer I can control all my lights in the studio with apps that apparently don’t connect with Android phones, and my team and I can have a flawless workflow with Macs and iPads. How is it good they make other stuff that loses billions? In fact Samsung Electronics, that does make money had to loan the shipbuilding operation big bucks 2 years ago. That's the problem with working for a huge company that is out of control and poorly organized.

    You got most things backwards. For example: * Constant discounts are a bad thing for a product, because customer realizes it's not worth buying Samsung phone for a full price, ever. Same customer also realizes that if Samsung can afford to offer discounts so often, then either their prices are heavily inflated or devices are simply not worth what Samsung is asking. For same reasons Samsung phones depreciate like crazy, while iPhones maintain high resale value for a long time. I have experienced this myself many times. * Ecosystem is not about how many things a company makes. It's about how well and seamlessly these things work together. Unfortunately, only a very tiny part of Samsung's devices work together really well. Whereas Apple is very serious about making ALL of it's products work together well. * Most people don't want too many options. Ever heard of "analysis paralysis"? Most people want to choose between 2-3 options or even one single option that "just works" with no hassle, gets the job done consistently and that's it.

    • @MadeByCrisYT
      @MadeByCrisYT 11 днів тому

      1 - Discounts are a bad thing because the customer realizes it's not worth buying? True, in fact, Samsung sells three devices a year because people think they are not worth it (and most people choose to buy them even if they are more expensive than iPhones sometimes). So the first point is kind of weak. 2 - How many Samsung devices do you currently own to say this? If you don't own any, which seems obvious to me, again this point is very weak, as I have used more than one Samsung device together and they work seamlessly. 3 - Most people want less of a choice? There's always a balance in life. Some people want more, some people less. If we are applying your concept, then Apple should only sell one iPad instead of three models, one iPhone instead of several, and so on and so forth. I get that Apple versus Samsung is like people talking about their favorite teams, but I think that before saying anything, someone should test it and then talk. But I appreciate you explaining your point of view.

      Samsung’s ecosystem just isn’t as good. Tried opening up Samsung Gallery on my Windows PC and it’s so immensely laggy and slow, just not worth using at all. Samsung Notes only works on Galaxy books, so having it on my desktop requires a stupid workaround. Similar thing for Multi Control, Galaxy Buds auto switching, etc. needs a mediocre Samsung laptop with a known screen cracking issue and no haptic trackpad (dealbreaker for me).

    • @andriusduksta5744
      @andriusduksta5744 4 дні тому

      @@MadeByCrisYT , 1 - yes, discounts are bad for a product. And most of the time bad for people, too - early buyers who bought it for a full price feel decieved and don't trust the company in the future. It has nothing to do with "worth buying" - in case of smartphones there is no such thing as "worth buying" or "not worth buying". There are only 2 questions: "Do I want it?" and "Can I afford it?". The "worth buying" metric is simply moot as you can rationalize your choice until cows come home. 2 - I own 4 Samsung devices currently. Not impressed by "ecosystem" in any way. And like someone already mentioned, connecting Galaxy S23 Ultra to even high-end Windows PC is a terrible experience. 3 - there is rarely a balance in life. Most of the time there is a lack of balance. And yes, most people get confused by choice and would rather have only 2-3 options, not 15...

    I think what Apple done is okay for me, they clear said in the keynote that they are more focusing on the personal context rather than the world knowledge, I feel they are on the right track because they don't have any reason to build their own world knowledge model, just think about before the generative AI craze, we rely on search engines, so Apple doesn't have a search engine because there isn't a real need and we just use google search, I think the same thing is happening here, spending money and resources on creating their own world knowledge model like OpenAI or google might not be interesting for Apple and simply there is no need, and this integration with ChatGPT doesn't comprise our personal information, so I don't see a real issue with Open AI getting benefitted from just plain user prompt for their training to make the models work even better, there is nothing wrong about it

    its the best they can do actually. It keeps users away from generally using the openAI app, and instead lets them go through Siri. They also said they would add other AI's in the future. They keep the control and can give the user their own AI's answers already or as soon as it's ready for more complicated stuff. They have a contract with openAI to not collect data, in contrast to the ChatGPT app. Also you even have to enable it in settings the first time you use it, and are then asked every time. It's really the best solution they could have done.

    Question on the watch use. My understanding is Ultra doesn't integrate with anything but iPhones. You say you use a Samsung phone as general phone but use the iPhone just yo be able to keep the watch. I'm confused how this works or is better. If the watch cannot integrate with ones main device then isn't less useful than ones that can? If the iPhone works as a bridge with cloud services or something and it works for you, fine, but that seems still lots of headache and friction. Having 2 devices ie phones that do basically the same thing seems painful enough. What am I missing here?
