- Are you considering making the switch from Apple to Samsung? In this video, I dive deep into the Apple and Samsung ecosystems, comparing their features, user experience, and overall value. I'll discuss the key reasons why people are choosing to switch to Samsung, including unique features, customization options, and potential cost savings. If you're on the fence about making the move, this video will provide you with valuable insights and help you decide if Samsung is the right fit for you.

This will be good! I'm so close to going back to Samsung.
I made the Samsung switch in 2021 but had to let it go shortly after because of my job at the time, real estate, made it almost impossible to communicate with clients, almost all of whom use iMessage here in the states.
No longer working in that industry, and instead going to college for engineering. I think I'll have a pre-order for the S25 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra next year.
Love it!
couldn't you just message without iMessage or are they the type to condemn you for having a green bubble?
@@sonofage people too much into that bs color thing
@@sonofage When I used to own the S21 Ultra, communicating with my family was a nightmare. Mostly with my parents, who've gotten used to sending me photos and Facetiming me my whole life. I downloaded Signal and Telagram for both of them, no luck, they could not figure it out and change their habits at their age of about 60.
@@sonofage the reason why switching is hard is because Apple will lock you out of your groups that are all Apple phones and you have to make a new group. Also I recently switched and I wouldn't receive texts from my friends and family who were Apple. that is why it is difficult to switch from aApple to samsung or any android
Just left iPhone...again. so glad
Why ? Curious
I worked for one of the 3 major carriers for years. Was an Android user, then iOS, as an employee I was very "bilingual" in both systems. I would agree that in function they're not too different, they both use phone apps, text, internet, the basics. For me, it's what's under the hood of the software AND the VALUE.
Most folks says, "Android users just want to move apps where they want. They don't understand the seamlessness of Apple." Couldn't be farther from the truth. I could, in another debate, argue that Samsung in particular has a much broader and better functioning ecosystem than Apple. I wanted better battery life, got it. Better camera and processing chip on photos, not just a bright and colorful picture, got it. Spend less get more, got it. 120 hrz on even the low end of device choices, got it. Faster charging, got it. Very vivid screen with QuadHD that isn't blocked by a dynamic island, got it. There's more but I don't want to type it.
Apple is a strong and solid company that focuses on the finer things. Which I appreciate. I enjoy FaceTime, but really that was it. It's the under the hood hardware and price points that kill it for me. Maybe if the company is willing to be more competitive by giving more hardware with zero bump in price, I would consider. And 120 hrz on all devices.
@Juicemanee I'm guessing you've really never used the Galaxy. Cause iphone doesn't come close to do the samefunctions. No shade just the truth.
@@themasonera I’ve owned a S8, S8+, S10e, and now S24U.

I’ll be doing the same in August I’m really looking forward to it
You may want to return with the ios 18 updates and what their AI will do. All I say is WOW! Game changing
@@davidfromdownunder it's still just a lesser phone overall with little to no personalization, a lot less features and small ecosystem. Why would anyone comeback to iphone simply for ai which can already be found on the other device
If AI is the reason one has to go back, with Android, you can get any AI which you want, and the IOS 18 is android 10 with AI, nothing more.
@@declan_franklin True True 👍
I feel a lot of people who have iPhones think of Android as it was in 2014. They don't realize that Android has not only caught up with but surpassed iOS in many ways. I think that's even more true here in the US, where iPhones are so "cool" because they have iMessage, lol. More to your point, I switched to an iPhone three years ago, but about a year and a half in, I was ready to go back to Android. I got bored quickly; the iPhone didn't feel like mine, like I could do what I wanted with it. The iPhone wasn't terrible, just not for me. I am so happy to be back on Android with my S24U.
I agree! I was Apple only for 10+ years always bashing Android. When I tried it, I found Android much smoother and less buggy.
I had iPhone for around 4 years and found it too restrictive and packed customization. Now I'm back with Android with a Pixel 8 phone
As a s24 ultra user, I can say this. Android has better phones but they will never have a better ecosystem. I actually just saw a video on how app development companies treat ios vs android, and it's night and day. Apps used on ios just work better because they have far more support.
So not true
@@bergeandtom it's an undisputed fact. Apps on my gf iPhone works better than apps on my s24 ultra. When developers make an app, they have iPhone in mind first, then port over whatever they can get compatible with to android. One example is snapchat early days. Taking videos back then on an iPhone looked like it was using the exact camera on the phone, but with android, it looked like you were recording with an old Nokia.
That was samuel nam's video you were watching.. you ddnt get the message of that video. That was because of his job. His job depend on the apps that works smoothly only for apple that is why he switched back.. if dont have a job like his then dont make it a basis..😂😂😂😂.. read between the lines..
If you look at samuel nam's video, it was in fact a stern warning for people not to get trapped inside the apple ecosystem. Coz you'll literally get trapped in a fortress called apple. Unlike the otherside of the world where you have the freedom to choose everything you want..😅😅😅
The apps were the reason for me to switch to apple. I gradually added devices. Laptop, tablet, watch. Ecosystem works fine. To be honest, I'm thinking about switching back. Simply on principle to get much more for the money.
Great topic to compare between these big two companies.
Many people still believe that Apple is the only one company that has the ecosystem because they always stick to Apple product ( which mostly have iPhone, Ipad, Mac, Smart TV box, watch, and that's it).
While other companies ( not only Samsung), they provide you with lots of varieties of products. They have Phones, tablet, headphones, watch, foldable phone, AND "smart housing device or equipment."
Even some Apple users still don't know that Android brands have this kind of thing. (It is real.)
I've said this before and even had argued with Apple Fan boys. Samsung beats Apple in every aspect. My whole house is all Samsung products. From all of the Tv's, Sound bars, Appliances, Phones, Watches, Tablets, etc.... Even the storage in my computers are all Samsung products. I love the fact that eveything is seemless with the Samsung Smartthings.
Do you have the fridge and microwave, too? I'd love to make a video about those products.
@MadeByCrisYT Yes. Just recently upgraded them to the Bespoke Smart line.
How is the ecosystem? Worth it?
@MadeByCrisYT Very worth it. I can take an inventory of what groceries I need from my fridge, and it will send it send it to my Samsung phone. I can turn on and off all of my Samsung TVs with my phone. Both my washer and dryer can notify me when they're done on my Samsung tablet, phone, and watch.
That's so cool!
I TOTALLY AGREE 1,000%. I hade the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And I got tired of that because it's the same thing every year you cannot personalize or customize the phone. I have the Galaxy s24 ultra and it's the best phone. PERIOD
Whats battery life like?
@@levipb1403i have the s23 ultra and still have really good battery. It lasts me all day with moderate-heavy use, and then it can completely fast charge in 1 hour.

Dats dumb i have my iphone 13 pro full customized, even the icons are different, if you’d say something like “oh it takes more effort” that is true, but its something that you do once anyways, in fact i had more fun customizing everything by myself rather than choosing a random theme.
I had an iPhone since the iPhone 5 and used them until the iPhone 8, then I switched to a Google pixel left that to use the iPhone 11 then left for samsung and haven't gone back since then. I couldn't believe after all those years, the iPhone was and still is the same phone. Doesn't matter having the most powerful chip in the world when the software has been the same since the iOS 7.
He's so right. I have been buying everything from samsung . This guy understands me. I thought I was weird. 😂 I'm just a tech person. Samsung is the true eco system
I was an Android fan for years. I switched to Apple in 2022 once they changed the iPhone design and it seemed fresh and new. The simplicity and lack of customization as all Android fan boys keep mentioning in iOS hasn’t been a downfall for me. I need a smartphone, smartwatch, tablet, laptop, wireless earbuds, and smart speaker that all work well together.
I first had Samsung and now Apple. For my use case, the Apple ecosystem just works better. Not to mention the numerous 3rd party accessories and resale value.
Samsung has been giving the best discounts for years now. Been with Samsung since the galaxy s3 and never looked back. Samsung is just too dam good.
Agree with this S24 was below 1/2 price , apple don’t discount except SE models
for me it was a matter of peace of mind. as a photographer and cinematographer, I got tired of crashing apps all the time on android. I switched and my goodness! Now I know that app devs prioritise apple first. my work flow is just smooth, reduced labour times by almost half and now. Final Cut Pro, logic pro, GarageBand work seamlessly together... glad I switched to iOS, macOS and iPad os.
That is true. If your a photographer go to iphone. But I don't know why would u even use iPhone, get nvidia graphic card ssd and good software to edit media on computer.
For common people, for easy photo editing go android, samsung AI photo editor is really good for Facebook etc . Edits on the fly. Plus you can use your phone as hard drive or attach your hard drive directly to phone.
Agreed
Well, I'm a photographer, and I feel the opposite way. Of course, I don't use iPhone to take pictures. I used it for editing, retouching, and post picture work for Instagram and my website. Apple really sucks. The apps kept crashing. It wasn't seamless at all. Now, with Samsung for 8 months, and what a difference. Not saying I'll never go back. If apple improves to this level, maybe.
@@sidha22the efficiency of any M series MBP can handle 4k editing on the go, off the plug and no proxy needed. $1300-1500 (16gb Base models even ) can handle it. Ain't no laptop out there, same price, that can be on the go at full power off plug. Iphone 15 Pro and up has proRes and Log, which is a great unison with a good mirrorless main setup as well. Select few obviously this applies to.
I do have a built PC for gaming and a Galaxy Tab s9 which I can't put down. The second Samsung allows blackmagic with log, I'll switch to the latest.
I switched years ago because Samsung devices allow me to customize their devices to my needs. Currently I have the Z Flip 5 for use in US, a S24 for business and international travel, Samsung Watch 6 and Tab S9 tablet. Quite happy with it. I find iOS frustrating to use and inflexible. Apple seems content to lock in their loyal base so they have quit innovating.
I felt just like you!! I was so bored with my iPhone. Super easy and good phone but so boring. Just bought an s24 and never looked back. Multi tasking on iPhone hell no. Excellent video and I agree 100% with you and this video
Thank you!
been on android and ios systems, currently on ios again, another thing you have to keep in mind due to android being so open its more prone to malware etc. i've seen quite a few android phones which were infected with malware opening random apps and browser windows. the reason why i've been using iphone more is due to the consistent revisioning of the ios system.
due to android having so many manufacturers sometimes you have all kinds of android v9 to v15 running on those phones and tablets.
another reason for some is that apple products retain their resale value higher longer than any other device so you can still get decent money for a iphone a year or so later compared to a samsung that lost its value way faster after a year.
the only reason why anyone would have to switch from apple to samsung/android is the customiseability and the app prices. the customiseability will be finally alleviated with ios18, whereas the app prices will still be a problem due to the 30% apple tax.
Cobblers!
Nice video. I don't usually comment that much but I wanted to leave some of my views here
I have noticed that majority of people who moved from x platform to y platform tend to be people who spent 5+ years on x platform before moving to y platform. iOS users spend 5+ years using apple products and after a while get annoyed at lack of new features and customization and their curiosity for another platform wildly increases and they move to Android. Unless they are from America (due to iMessage) they tend to stay there and rarely come back.
However vice-versa is also happening. People like me who spent 5-10+ years on Android enjoying all the customization, rooting, features, bonuses like from Samsung when buying stuff, etc. we are always a bit curious what's on the other side (iOS). Throughout time we notice that no matter how many features we have we start using less and less or they just don't have the same hit like when we were in the beginnings of tinkering with Android. This also appeals when we start aging in real life, we have less time and willpower to tinker and we just want a device which optionally can have lots of features but our main point becomes the simplicity, working out of the box, minimal if not any tinkering at all. Combined with that thinking, we try iOS which just works out of the box, we maybe once tinker with settings and that's it, everything is almost flawless from there on.
To conclude, it seems that people who grow up with lack of features get interested in more features and tinkering and move to Android, and those who become overwhelmed with so many features and things want to go to simpler thing so they can focus on other matters.
I really like your point of view. The 5-year mark seems to be pretty accurate, with the vast majority of people moving from one system to another.
I think the issue is, apart from the OS, the design. Companies are not changing designs drastically anymore, and this creates some sort of "fatigue," which I think pushes people to something different. For me, this can be easily resolved by adding different form factors (i.e., foldables).
Had an iPhone for the longest until s22 ultra came out I now have the s24 ultra and OMG it's the best phone I've ever used. Iphone feels so locked down and limited and getting around the os feels so broken don't get me started in going back on different apps on iPhone it's always a nightmare you can't customize anything it's in a way just boring and always the same with samsung your unlimited to anything your heart desires I have my s24 set up to the way I like it not the way samsung wants it like iPhone. I have a feeling iPhone is just for users who aren't tech savvy who need a simple phone i guess. Owning a iPhone is like wearing the same matching clothes every day no diversity
Good info, it's not even just Samsung on the ecosystem, now most phones and other devices and brands work well with other and offer more overall functionality and choice than the so called Apple Ecosystem. Really it's about options and abilities vs restrictions. If Apple was really that good at product's they'd shine in the same way, but they don't play that game, hence all the anti competitive action against them.
Heck while China centric, the Xiaomi ecosystem smashes Apple 🤣, they af less had the ability to make a car too, Apple couldn't 🤷♂️🤦♂️
@@bruxi78230 I was unaware that the sole metric of everything was Market Cap and who/what is the richest. 🤦♂️
Now what were you saying about silly?.
Next you'll be telling me that moveable icon's on iOS is more innovative than a Starship re landing because Apple is 19x bigger in wealth than SpaceX.
@@bruxi78230 I'm not pulling those dollar values are doing your argument a favour, that seems terrible expensive for what they bring too market.
So Apple spent 30x more on R&D, have but a few products, many of which offer less in ability and functionality than other brands, yet because big $ number they are most innovative. Where is the broad innovation?
I simply used Xiaomi as example because of the broad product offering to relative small size. Heck Apple failed to even bring an EV to market outside of the concept stage, you know which company has produced a EV too market without the 30 billion R&D.
Apple are foremost a Marketing company with a limited range of tech products. They are a status and fashion symbol for many in some cultures.
Happy to hear about the over arching innovative and r&d, but if an example like a good chip (ie M4) in a giant iPhone then see the bit about marketing.
@@bruxi78230 R&D is that by definition, I guess given the effectively limitless funds extremely lack luster on an objective basis.
As I stated to start with achieving mass financial gains within the system we live doesn't correlate to objective ability or unparalleled innovation etc. Would be a better place if it did maybe.
There's way more involved and hence we have the likes of the EU and DOJ actions as an example. Without any checks bruit behaviour and control can dominate, but hopefully we've moved beyond the Viking times 🤣💰
Im from the uk, and I've just ordered myself the s24 ultra, I got £220 off for trading in my old s22 plus, and I got an extra 5% off when you spend over £500 on the app for the first time. I've been with samsung for about 17yrs and because it's so customizable I've never really felt the need to jump to another brand, samsung offer me everything I need within a phone.
I found out about the 5% discount after buying the phone. Funnily enough, on the Shop App on the iPhone, you can’t buy an Android phone (to remove competitors). That's crazy!
@MadeByCrisYT I've just found out that if I used code 150save as well when ordering my device, I would have saved an extra £150, meaning I would have a total save of £420 but samsung said they can't add that now unless I cancel the order which I'm not going to do. It's a shame apple don't follow suit and think about the customers and how they can draw them in to buy there product, I don't think I've met one person who doesn't like to save money and get an absolute bargain.
@MadeByCrisYT people say that everyone using apple products is stuck in the eco system and can't get out, but it seems apple themselves is exactly the same, stuck in their own eco system, and can't get out and match competitors making them less versatile then other companies.
A few days ago I bought an s24 brand new for 400£ from 800£ .
how
I don't care about the ecosystem. All I know is the S24 Ultra is way better than the iPhone.
Just sell your Samsung after two years of use, than the difference will be clear. Iphone has a higher retail value after use. And when it comes to Apple or Android, its just what you like. I like Iphone because of the simple and effective use. Also the biometrics for me work so much better. For android, i used the S23 Ultra untill it dropped on the floor last month (i sold in in with a cracked screen and im making up my mind what to buy next, untill that time i use my Iphone 13) My exp on android was just great tbh, esp the Ai and camera on the S23 Ultra are just amazing for me . I didnt use a Apple 15 Pro Max (would be my next choice) so i can not realy compare both phones. But for now i just want to watch some video’s to help me make a decision and this video sure helped me a lot because it was just different than other video’s. So, thank you Cris! Greetings from the Netherlands!
This is where I struggle to have people I know (family / friends) switch from Team Cook to Andriod. I am a tech head and I like to change things up, have fresh and new experiences. It's why I left Apple, same phone year in, year out.
However, I do use Apple products (ipad Pro, Apple TV +, Apple Music) outside of my Samsung phone / watch environment. I am considering a new change to the Pixel range for a fresh new experience yet again as I am not heavily invested in Sammy products (Flip 5 / watch 4 Classic. A clear advantage in the Andriod universe as the stock experience is similar yet a different software / hardware journey.
Used iPhone since the original. Only upgraded when there was an option to remain on a small phone. Last iPhone was the 13mini which (out of nowhere) stopped working on ATT cellular network. I would have gone with the iPhone 15 Pro, but was disappointed with the removal of physical SIM support, and the minimal improvements over the iPhone 13 Pro. Since the iPhone Mini was pulled from the lineup, none of Apples phone offerings appealed to me.
Switched over to an S24 Ultra which admittedly has its pros/cons, but overall, I am happy to have made the switch. This video nails it - "freedom" to use the phone to its full potential. I saw iPhone as having more similarities to a tablet, while Samsung Galaxy phones work more like a Chromebook. If I'm going to be walking around with a $1k+ device on me at all times, I'd prefer to have something that operates more like a laptop than a tablet.
Well said!
I agree, seeing the big picture with fridges light bulbs etc. Samsung is the real Ecosystem.
This video was the best, which I saw in this topic ever ! Thank You !
Thank you Peter, I really appreciate it!
The only thing that apple truly have, is their chips, facetime, & imessage. When you ask a apple fanboy or girl, they always bring up 2 out of the 3 things i mentioned.

I think that this ecosystem talk is getting a bit overplayed in terms of software as of 2024. Software ecosystem is what Apple uses and enforces to keep users tied up with their products. For example, lots of Google apps are on the Apple App Store, but not the other way around. The only thing forcing Apple to change in major ways for user convenience (Alternative Markets, USB-C) is government regulation. Anyway, back to the point.
Most apps that you may need access to on multiple devices (like note apps) have web and app clients that sync to the cloud. What I enjoy about Android in general (and Android market is vast, people shouldn't just look to Samsung for the Android experience) is that you are not FORCED into ANY SINGLE ecosystem. You can do a Google ecosystem with Keep, Calendar, etc, you can do a Xiaomi ecosystem, you can do a Samsung ecosystem, or you can use apps that feel better out of these "ecosystems" or mix them together with different devices. It works just fine. You are not forced into buying a Samsung watch if you own a Samsung. You can get any watch you want and it will work just fine. You are free to do whatever you want on the phone that you paid for, and you can do it the way you want. For example, samsung smart appliances can easily be synced with Xiaomi phones using the SmartThings app.
As for the hardware...I don't even feel the need to say anything about how technolocically backwards most Apple devices are for their price. I mean, 60hz displays on base iPhone 15s? There are Android phones costing basically nothing compared to iPhones that have 120hz displays. 120hz in 2024 is not a pro feature. It's baseline functionality. But people buy the technologically inferior products year to year because they believe in some ecosystem that barely exists and has minimal benefits with major limitations, and are not willing to leave because they need to be sold an ecosystem, not the freedom to do what you want and how you want. Bruh.
Dam man!!!! I never thought about all the Samsung appliances that you could connect to WiFi & control with your Galaxy phone, I guess Samsung does have the better ecosystem
There's a lot
Android is a linux operating system. Linux is used on wall trading, Pentagon, the world's top fastest computers over maybe 500 are Linux. Steve Jobs took open source linux and wrote a code over it then charged for it.. Now that he is gone the software is dated. Now iPads are great for movie editing and graphics
I use both. Only reason im still using ios at all , is because of imessage and facetime. Every famy member around the world uses iphone and they dont use other messaging apps and its not fair for me to make them all get whats app or something to text me and only me. So i use iphone still for that. Samsung for literally everything else.
I am in the exact same boat.
Well the thing isn't other brands, the problem it's apple but soon enough all that messaging bs and so they have gonna get remove
The last straw for me was opening my photos app and the screen going white and having to reset my phone. iPhone is overpriced garbage. Switching to S24 Ultra by the end of the month.
Just got the S24 Ultra and I love it. Massive upgrade!
I swapped over entirely myself recently. I get bored of phones easily, to be fair, but my problem with iphone is that the gap between the brands is closing really rapidly and samsung now offers a VERY comparable experience to iOS. And apple doesn't innovate at all. All of their products work the same and feel the same and mostly look the same. They've been releasing the same looking iphone every year since the iPhone X came out for the most part with very minor changes. It is boring. Their UI is the same for the most part, their function is the same for the most part, and there isn't a big incentive to upgrade to the new one every year, as you can go and get an old iphone like the 13 model or even the 11 or 12, and if battery health is good it'll feel the same day to day as the brand new iphone.
Its just not an exciting experience for me any longer.
You got most things backwards. For example:
* Constant discounts are a bad thing for a product, because customer realizes it's not worth buying Samsung phone for a full price, ever. Same customer also realizes that if Samsung can afford to offer discounts so often, then either their prices are heavily inflated or devices are simply not worth what Samsung is asking. For same reasons Samsung phones depreciate like crazy, while iPhones maintain high resale value for a long time. I have experienced this myself many times.
* Ecosystem is not about how many things a company makes. It's about how well and seamlessly these things work together. Unfortunately, only a very tiny part of Samsung's devices work together really well. Whereas Apple is very serious about making ALL of it's products work together well.
* Most people don't want too many options. Ever heard of "analysis paralysis"? Most people want to choose between 2-3 options or even one single option that "just works" with no hassle, gets the job done consistently and that's it.
1 - Discounts are a bad thing because the customer realizes it's not worth buying? True, in fact, Samsung sells three devices a year because people think they are not worth it (and most people choose to buy them even if they are more expensive than iPhones sometimes). So the first point is kind of weak.
2 - How many Samsung devices do you currently own to say this? If you don't own any, which seems obvious to me, again this point is very weak, as I have used more than one Samsung device together and they work seamlessly.
3 - Most people want less of a choice? There's always a balance in life. Some people want more, some people less. If we are applying your concept, then Apple should only sell one iPad instead of three models, one iPhone instead of several, and so on and so forth.
I get that Apple versus Samsung is like people talking about their favorite teams, but I think that before saying anything, someone should test it and then talk. But I appreciate you explaining your point of view.
Samsung’s ecosystem just isn’t as good. Tried opening up Samsung Gallery on my Windows PC and it’s so immensely laggy and slow, just not worth using at all. Samsung Notes only works on Galaxy books, so having it on my desktop requires a stupid workaround. Similar thing for Multi Control, Galaxy Buds auto switching, etc. needs a mediocre Samsung laptop with a known screen cracking issue and no haptic trackpad (dealbreaker for me).
@@MadeByCrisYT ,
1 - yes, discounts are bad for a product. And most of the time bad for people, too - early buyers who bought it for a full price feel decieved and don't trust the company in the future. It has nothing to do with "worth buying" - in case of smartphones there is no such thing as "worth buying" or "not worth buying". There are only 2 questions: "Do I want it?" and "Can I afford it?". The "worth buying" metric is simply moot as you can rationalize your choice until cows come home.
2 - I own 4 Samsung devices currently. Not impressed by "ecosystem" in any way. And like someone already mentioned, connecting Galaxy S23 Ultra to even high-end Windows PC is a terrible experience.
3 - there is rarely a balance in life. Most of the time there is a lack of balance. And yes, most people get confused by choice and would rather have only 2-3 options, not 15...
Samsung isn't the only company with discounts and add ons and deals. (the add ons and deals are fire tho.) I got the one plus open and it came with free one plus buds pro. Google was offering a free pixel watch 2 with pre-order for the pixel 8 pro etc etc. Can't think of one time I bought something from the Apple store or pre-ordered something and it had an add on offer. I bought an iPad pro and Apple watch 5 and they didn't even offer so much as a free watch band or something. The switch from apple has many benefits and cheaper flagships/add ons is one of them. Great vid. Subbed.
I left my iPhone 13 pro max for a Google pixel 8 pro. Definitely don't regret it. It is a hassle though and I feel like the odd one out as my family and my wife are all iPhone users.
Hang in there, they will soon switch to Android too.
@@MadeByCrisYT that is the hope.
Great video. Absolutely agree. Waiting for RCS to come to Apple so I can switch to Samsung. Most people in my circle use iMessage and they don’t want to leave the native texting app for a third party app.
Once that happens it's a wrap, lots of people will switch to Android
I love them both as I can live with both ecosystems as I prefer without having to pick sides as I’m Primarily an Apple User.
thanks for a good information with wise thoughts and words :)
This is a trend with the all the technology companies. Every year brings innovation and sometimes we choose what works best for ourself. As a previous Samsung user, the value of Samsung products depreciates rapidly within a span of an year compared to Apple products. For someone, whose workflow lies on the Apple eco-system; it's had to justify the Samsung switch.
Im an ex tech UA-camr, had a few thousand subs, was apple crazy type of guy for many many years, i switched to Samsung with the S24 ultra because i absolutely had enough of iOS and Apples restrictive OS, over simplified software. I want more. The great thing is with Samsung you get an as good if not better ecosystem is what ive found, tha tablets are better and include S pen, smart tags 2 are as good if not better than airtags, the Samsung find my app is identical in layout and features, the software so oneUI, has a CRAZY amount of depth in terms of customisation but also system intelligence which iOS absolutely lacks. Overall, im so so glad to be free of apple. Another positive is if i ever get bored of Samsung i can get a pixel, a vivi, a xiaomi and keep the same experience bar a small number of things. theres so much more exciting hardware to choose from.
I am so bored of apple's software and their super slow hardware evolution
Not making videos anymore?
@@MadeByCrisYT i quit after a few years, deleted the channel, sold everything, it was losing too much money i couldn't get it turning a profit and it in part ruined a 5 year relationship.
The issue to me is that most Samsung users don’t REALLY know how to customize an Iphone, and most Iphone users are too stuck in their ways to admit that Samsung makes a good device. Ive been a devout Iphone user since the 4. Had an Iphone since I graduated HS 12 years ago.. Its a really good phone, that you CAN customize, it just doesn’t come with the options right out the box like a Samsung phone does. Iphone makes you download alot of different apps to customize your experience which is fine. Im actually considering buying a Samsung S24 Ultra not because I dont like Apple, but really just to try something new and explore alittle more. Both ecosystem are great in their own way, and ultimately just depends on your preference.
For me, samsung phones cast to samsung tv's which is huge for people who don't have cable, so I can just stream content from my phone to tv for something to watch at my parents house. Apple? No so much, too expensive and Apple doesn't play well with other companies or doesn't care too. Apple is just too premuim for me honestly.
outside of US imessage is not even used that much, they don't understand ecosystems either. most ppl who look for a phone and have money go for iphone cuz its the mainstream phone, the one that everyone uses and the one that rich ppl use, when they want to get a computer, they go for apple for that same reason, they want a watch, they fo for apple.
when ppl have $1000+ they never go for an Android for that price, when they have $400 they can't go for an iphone so they get a cheap android which lags, takes bad pics and is overall bad. when they get that money, they buy iphone and think that its the best comparing it to the $400 one. naturally average user gets the idea that iphone is better cuz they never used an expansive Android. that's why everyone uses apple over androids.
Agreed! And it's unfortunate because (at the moment) Samsung is WAY better.
@@MadeByCrisYT me personally never used an iphone, my mom has one and i dont like using it, i feel limited and everything seems confusing, im sure if i want, i can get used to it, but i dont want to. everyone around me uses an iphone and they kinsa look down on ppl with android, refuse to take pictures with the android claiming it doesn't look good. i never bothered, and everyone was always impressed with the photos i took with my OnePlus, reverse wireless charging still wows everyone when their iphones run out of battery 4 times a day, and i dont really care what ppl think of android, i know within that i understand tech better than any of my friends, and it's pointless to argue over something that they dont understand
Please remind America.
It is a ridiculous concept that even mates and relationships are chosen based on green vs blue bubbles. #MentalProblem
Samsung all day for me. Samsung offers value and real features that make sense. There's absolutely nothing interesting about Apple.
Except it works 😂
@@KoalaBeer.So does a rotary phone 😂
Cris with another banger keep it up. Can't wait for the ecosystem videos as there isn't very many out there. It can only help grow your channel even bigger as many people really don't know how big and diverse the Samsung ecosystem really is.
Appreciate it!
I’m sorry but I’m not giving up the Mac + iPhone + Apple Watch + iPad + HomePod + Apple TV experience because of a smart fridge and microwave. By the way more customization is coming to iOS 18.
As long as you're happy, that's all that matters.
SmartThings app is on Apple anyway and you could easily use Google Home to connect it all together, even on iPhone anyway
People on the Samsung ecosystem also has the same opinions lol, why would they leave their galaxy phone, tablet, watch, earbuds, tv, washing machine, fridge, ovens, and etc.
Not only on samsung brand but Android in General. OnePlus, Xiaomi, and all other android brands who’s selling their phone for an affordable price that includes everything u need. Charging cord, and 60Watt and up charging brick. Which is very nice to have. Most of them only cost around $600-$800.
Not in north America
If we use discount as a reason then not buying a phone is the best value and make it last till it is annoying like 4-5 years
Meanwhile I want to switch to iPhone, older iPhones hold pretty good value than newer Samsungs I mean, a S23 is $400 & an iPhone 13 pro is $600 in Back Market
What about the regular Iphone 13?
@@FLM_OFF ranges between $300 & $400.
@@Hawonku OK
@@Hawonkuyeah,but then go to apple or samsung store and let's see then trade in value for each, apple gives my friend 560 for a 1tb m2 13 inch ipad pro, while I get 500 for a tab s7 fe 64gb,not so much kf a value there from apple
It’s not really about ecosystems. It’s about which company creates the best computer and user interface (which is Apple)
Apple’s user interface looks more clean, more simple and more intuitive to use. Apple computers are designed to curtail to creative users who prefer simplistic computing over the complexity of PC’s.
Samsung makes more innovative devices…but Apple’s UI is just more comfortable to use
This was probably true five years ago. Android's UI looks clean too (i.e., Nothing phones).
@@MadeByCrisYT Apple provides a better computing experience and is curtailed for creative enthusiasts (musicians & digital artists/designers). Apple has Final Cut Pro for designers and Logic for musicians. Does Samsung provide their own flagship software like Final Cut & Logic? Unfortunately they don’t
I use both ecosystems
Mobile - Galaxy Watch 7 & Z Fold 6
Desktop - Mac Studio
@@AlijahArmstrong I agree with you if we consider the creatives and the tools Apple provides(FCPX also implemented a new feature with wireless controls and muti-cam support which I think is sick). What I meant is that for the average user, both systems are fine, it's all about the features and what each person actually needs, and personal preference of course. How is the Z Fold btw? I'm thinking of getting one.
@@MadeByCrisYT The Fold 6 is the best mobile device I’ve ever purchased. I highly recommend it!
Ok sold!
Your thoughts really resonate with me. You’ve nailed it. I’ve been a loyal Apple customer for as long as I can remember, but recently, I decided to make the switch to the Samsung Z Fold 6. It was a tough decision because I was so deeply entrenched in the Apple ecosystem-or, as I now see it, the Apple “prison.”
What pushed me over the edge was the sheer boredom with the iPhone, which has barely evolved since its debut in 2007. Sure, it’s got bigger, better screens and cameras, but the same basic form factor has grown stale. And then there’s Apple’s controlling nature-how they intentionally limit their technology to keep users locked into their ecosystem and protect their other products.
Now that I’ve made the switch, I’m loving the Z Fold 6. The freedom it offers, from multitasking to Samsung Dex, has really boosted my productivity. The S-Pen has become indispensable, and the fact that I no longer need to carry both an iPhone and an iPad mini for note-taking is a game changer. Even simple things, like choosing my default PDF viewer, which you can’t do on an iPhone or iPad, make a big difference.
Since making the switch, I feel liberated. All the negative things I’d heard about Android turned out to be nothing more than Apple’s smoke and mirrors.
Exactly! The Z Fold 6 is an amazing choice!! And thank you so much, I appreciate your comment 😊
As a tech enthusiast, I appreciate the strengths of both Android and iOS ecosystems. Samsung, in particular, seems to offer attractive loyalty programs and upgrade incentives for their customers. For example, their recent increase in base storage capacity and extended software support are positive developments. It took Apple a long time to bump ups storage from 64GB to 128GB in 2021 where as similar Android phones had that amount of base storage earlier.
On the other hand, Apple's historical reluctance to increase base storage and shorter software support compared to Samsung can be seen as less customer-friendly practices. When it comes to power user features, Samsung's flagship phones with desktop mode offer functionality that some might find preferable for replacing a traditional computer, especially compared to some limitations of the iPad Pro.
Well said, Peter. Are you THE Peter Parker?
Everything is on point except for software support. How did samsung have longer support?
@@perfecttroubler1767 While the exact details can vary depending on the model, Apple typically offers software support for their devices for around six years. There isn't an official statement announcing a specific timeframe, but they usually maintain compatibility with their latest operating systems for that duration.
Samsung recently announced at their keynote that the S24 series will receive software support for seven years. This is a positive change for Samsung users, and it remains to be seen if this extended support will become the standard for their future devices.
Overall, both Apple and Samsung are committed to providing extended software support for their smartphones. The specific length of support can vary by manufacturer and device model.
The last update for iPhone X was in 2023 which makes it an six year run: released in 2017. I don't exactly but I traded in my iPhone Xs last year because it was either running out of support o would have been. I do internet banking ect on my phone so I wanted the piece of mind. I don't remember the chart or where to go but I remember someone listed all the last software support dates and all the older iPhone supports ended around the year six mark. Of course of the extremely old devices like iPad 2 got like two years of software updates.
@@MadeByCrisYT Spiderman!
I'm going to start using the S series of samsung instead of the A series
Apple’s ecosystem is better bc apple has apple’s ecosystem, and then apple has samsung ecosystem, and then google ecosystem, and then yara yara yara.
Like, who tf is making you unable to use smart things on iphone? Its literally on the app store, while you barely have the compatibility an iphone offers you with other apple devices, thats why this comparison don’t make no sense whatsoever, yeah samsung has more products, but samsung does NOT have a special compatibility with a samsung galaxy, it just doesn’t happen, they work seamlessly with LITERALLY any device no matter if its android or iphone, even samsung TVs have airplay from what i remember, so samsung TVs SOMEHOW have an extra compatibility for iOS, LG TVs have that too btw, even if you have like your whole house made out of samsung devices you’d still want an apple device if you have apple products, and if you don’t have any extra apple products, believe me when i say you ain’t missing on nothing special lmao
I have to say, reading this was a roller-coaster, and I agree with you on some points.
You nailed it! The real ecosystem is samsung 😊
I tried Apple any times, never liked it. I said I would invest in a macbook after 20 years but wanted to start cheap - eventually installed windows 😂
Have the 1st Galaxy watch since 2020, just recently bought a classic 4 46mm to upgrade. 120 for the 1st Galaxy Watch and 55 for the Watch 4.
Recently bought a S23 as I will sell my note 20 coming for a fold 2 and I have a flip3.
Want to update my Tab S7 Plus soon but don't need to
I think in July we will see new tablets too
I'm not a tech person, but even then I prefer samsung. Samsung has more intuitive functions and android phones in general. To go back on Samsung. I can swipe my finger on either side to go back or use the button at the bottom but on iPhone. The return button is always somewhere I don't know or I have to go all the way to the left to swipe And it's very inconvenient if my phone is on my right hand and my phone is really big cause I always get the big phones. And it's very inconvenient and it doesn't even always work on all apps. The return button is always at the top left usually and I have to extend my finger to reach it or use both hands. And I like on my Samsung. I have full display that doesn't have any rounded corners so I get the full experience of whatever app I'm using. I have the s23 ultra. Only thing is I prefer apples computers because I hate windows. Mac os is more reliable in my opinion. Every time I use windows, it always does something I hate and I have to fix something. And then I need to go look for help and it takes hours and it randomly updates when I don't want it to update when I'm in the middle of doing something.
Same here, I use windows for gaming only
Samsung built the Burj Khalifa, apple didn't. Samsung wins.
I had always been an Android user, then I used the iPhone 11, I liked it but there is nothing like samsung, I bought the s23 plus with a big discount and I am very happy with my purchase
Copy in one device and paste in the other, airdrop, and 10 years life. Sorry Samsung. When I’m working, usually don’t think about make my fridge cooler. I think it’s the opposite. I use my iPhone for work and my android when I don’t have to.
You can also copy in one device and paste in the other, we have quickshare which we can send Iphones a link for high quality downloads and works with computers that aren't macs. I've seen reviewers say it's faster than airdrop, but I can't verify that myself. Samsung, last year offered 7 years of updates. Again, I don't think reviewers are fair when they look at products outside of IOS
I thought you would properly compare the interaction between phone watch EarPod and computer …
Still in the process of buying everything :)
All the people I know switched to iPhone already, don’t get what you are talking about. I don’t want another android phone running google services, I would like to keep my data for myself 😁
All the people I know switched to Android. Now what? 😂
Was all for the s24u till I found out they will be charging for the ai, which is intergraded to everything on the phone. So guess I will be sticking with apple.
I agree with all what you said in your video about your topic on the ecosystem
I agree
Appliances are available from other companies (better quality as well) and their apps work with both ecosystems. I wouldn't buy a Samsung phone so I could buy other Samsung items. Their phones and TVs are great. Their appliances are very second tier.
I beg to differ. I tried the latest generation when I rented an Airbnb, and they were actually amazing.
The issue with samsung in our country is that they offer exynos. When you live in a warm country with a warm phone because of the chip it's not good.
Can you recommend me iphone 13 pro or s23 long term reliability?
hard to say since s23 is 1 year old, but i think you're good with both options!
Left iphone 14 pro. And switched to s23u. This year left ip15pm to switch s24u.
I refuse to use an android phone and a apple computer
What do you use?
I find the video interesting but i think we shouldn't forget that a phone is a tool and isn't an accessory (when was the last time you bought a screwdriver just because you were bored, I dont think most people ever did that) The best eco system is the one that last the longest so no samsung or apple because these devices dont hold long enough. People have been through war (and are still today) and what we are worrying about is having a smartoaster that can talk to us. We should use what we have and when it breaks recycle it and buy from another company that does make products that hold longer For exemple : Fairphone, Fairbuds, Framework ,etc
Exactly! I think as long as you're happy, it doesn't matter which brand you use.
I just can't do it apple is not smart phone
Apple restricts competition because they know they wouldn’t be the first choice. They restrict Garmin from having full LTE capabilities because they know people would go for the Garmin over the AW Ultra.
I'd actually like to switch, but my co-worker, who owns a Pixel, was telling me to avoid Samsung because it comes with a ton of bloatware. Is that actually true? If so, that's a real bummer! Immediately what came to mind was the horrors in the early aughts when my dad bought a new Hewlett Packard PC completely full of random applications, oh the horror! Anyway, great video!
It's not true
It’s true so much unnecessary stuff, why above said no I have no idea I own S24 and it acts odd
@KoalaBeer. Really give some examples please. It's only comes with essential softwares
It’s not bloatware. Samsung has some duplicate apps which give you a choice to use Google app or Samsung apps. With Android, choice is the operative word.
Yes, some Apps were unnecessary, but I've spent like 5 minutes to clean it up
I didn't leave the ecosystem but I have a Samsung foldable
Fold 6?
I left apple because of freedom.Android let me do everything I want but apple don't.I love android i will never go back iphone.
Same here!
I'm 99% happy with moving away from Apple. The only thing I miss is my Watch Ultra. I have a GW6C and it runs like dog water. Slow AF and locks on me consistently throughout the day. I used to be able to keep my entire Spotify playlist (over 60 hours) downloaded on my Apple Watch and it would act like it wasn't even there. But on the Galaxy Watch, I couldn't even imagine storing anything on it
The problem is the developer support between apple and android, Developer just like Apple more than Android which means the app in Android are more Shitty than Apple.
I have been with Samsung since s6 plus and its never going back. The trust that samsung provides to their customers is inevitable. I dont why why would ppl prefer staying within restricted zone and not look for more featuristic and all being you phone. Apple forces users to change according to their needs while android and samsung allows users to customize their products according to ones choice.
I use a samsung S21 + for work and Iphone 13 pro Max for personal
It just a phone. I don't even know any different when i change to s23 ultra.
I’m just waiting for the watch 7 Ultra and my switch will be complete :3
Im hoping the squirkle design is just a rumor. It looks like they just couldn't make up their mind. I just switched over from my iphone to my s23 Ultra and I like the round shape of the watch 6. It'll be interesting.
@wandakay2627 yes I like the shape as well. Just would like additional storage and mainly battery life. If it would match the apple watch ultra that would be enough for me. I heard with he software update it may actually surpass it though :3
