K put the “deep meaning” right in your eyes. Exaggerated masked cult scenes: Scibot Cruise “stuck” while Kidman got out. Party scene: alcohol/ drugs used by H’wood, Scibots & “fraternities” for blackmail. G. Clooney gave hints: must attend long drawn out parties with his competitors + alcohol, drugs are perfect opportunities for control/ blackmail of future stars. IMO, this is what happened to Cruise before this movie. Happened to me: so-called girlfrienenemy just happened to be born the same day as my mom? Hey, it’s possible…no need for nefarious conspiracy…etc.

It was a dime crime novel, but it worked on many levels. The crazy confidence that Frank White has as the leader of the gangsters is very much like the leaders in other aspects of our society.

This movie is legitimately fantastic. It pays homage to the original but also carves its own path. And watching Michael incrementally become a superhuman zombie killing machine is incredibly satisfying.

I legit thought that you added in that "Pazuzu" white face over that scene where the possessed boy was walking around Merrin in the temple, as a joke! ... I just looked up the scene and it's legit in the film! ... I'll never understand how studios can look at stuff like that and think it looks good. I rewatched Exorcist The Beginning last night, as I hadn't watched either of the Prequels since they were released, and the shockingly bad CGI that they used for the real life locations, legit looks like PS2 graphics and surely they could have just filmed in the locations as opposed to pay CGI Artists to recreate the locations. At the end of The Beginning Merrin walks into what is clearly a Green Screened street in Rome, and Sarah (The Possessed Woman) "Exorcist Makeup" changes from scene to scene, ... in one shot she has light blue demonic eyes with a red ring around them, then she has yellow Party City contact lenses in, then she goes back to the custome lenses. It's almost like they left in placeholder shots, or rehearsal scenes.

Just don't blow it. At times I feel like I have, missed the lessons life was trying to tell me.

It's not a sub plot but the main message of the movie.

Marilyn Burns performance always seems to be under-cut by Jamie-Lee Curtis in Halloween…. WHY!!! Not only does it annoy me but I also just don’t understand how it’s even comparable. Marilyn Burns makes Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween look amateur!!!

Fertile ideas, brilliant ideas

Yes it's a well made movie. I wouldn't say you're telling us anything interesting.

Fincher cut his teeth on some of the best music videos of the 80s and 90s, but his work with Madonna on Express Yourself, Oh Father and Bad Girl stands out as some of the best storytelling ever presented in a short form medium. It really isn't a surprise how he deals with masculinity and femineity on screen if you've seen the development from back then. The same with his camera and the way it moves around the scenes in his films. He is one of the best out there.

"Everyone has a different explanation of what it means to them". Correct. While watching this vid, I started to have an idea that Alice has manipulated things throughout.

Shooting with wide lenses was an amazing idea by Walter Hill. The city of San Fransisco sort of became a character of its own in the film.

Sounds like you're in the UK, and a real Romero fan! If you're close enough, maybe check out the 'Weekend Of The Dead' festival in Manchester this year - it's entirely Romero based, and is fantastic!

Next up Dawn of the Dead elevator scene..scared the hell out of me❤. I watch Night every time it's on. I am also a voracious reader there is a novel of short stories related to this which Romero was involved with it was fantastic. It had modern up to date stories and some that were directly related to the film including a story from the POV of the little girl. ❤. Such a good story.

My viewing of the video was disrupted by a knock on the front door... I am outraged so I will write it here lol Complete stranger, a woman, knocks, asks me if my car works, then asks me to take her to visit her Nephew in Ongar. I looked up where Ongar was - it's an hour and a half from where I live in London. Is it me or is the world going completely insane? Anyways... Back to the video.

This film also connected with me in quite a direct way. Living alone, barely talking with anyone. That'll do it. It's also very funny. Darkly comedic elements.

I need to watch this movie again. I saw it when it came out and I thought it was a lot of talking and drama that never led to any kind of resolution. I always wondered why Tom Cruze didn't just rush the red cult leader and pull his mask off. If that was me I would assume they'd kill me anyway so why not at least find out who's in charge.

I always assumed the two main characters were intended to invoke Don Quixote and Sancho Panza... was that not actually intended?

Between Easy Rider and Yellowstone which is playing now, It really tells how money, greed and power dictates how we are suppose to act, live, and carry on. I fail to see how we are free now days. We are under surveillance everywhere we go. We're basically told how much money we can make. I pick up on allot of lines from different movies that really make sense. Anything and everything you buy now days is made cheaper and don't last as it did when it was made 30, 40, 50 years ago. What used to be made of metal became plastic, and then soon becoming cardboard. All you see on TV commercials anymore are drug and pharmaceutical ads using scare tactics to get you to a doctor in one way or another. What happen to the good ole' "Maytag Man"??? What happen to freedom of speech???

I don't care what anybody says... Italian Jaws rip-offs are some of the best things to ever happen. You can't stay unhappy when watching Cruel Jaws or The Last Shark. Don't even get me started on Tentacles.
