My favorite movie of all time. Never gets old. I get goosebumps everytime i watch the intro/ opening credits. I am at well over 100 viewings. Thanks for the video.
It says something about Walter Hill that, as much as I love The Warriors, there's plenty of others by him I would put above it. That said, it's a great "comic book" fantasy and I am now finally going to seek out the original theatrical cut when I can. Keep it up, buddy.
You just keep releasing vids about films I 💕💕💕. I played this film for my nephew when he was 9 (he's 22 now). He thought it was the coolest movie he's ever seen. Warriors come out to playay. ❤❤❤❤
Oh boy. This was one of the first rentals in the vhs store. Here in Scandinavia, this era exploded in terms of how it impacted the kids in the early eighties.
Thanks for watching. I was a video store kid too lol so many happy hours spent renting movies. I loved the fact it was all about the cover art on the VHS and most of the time we had no idea what we were in for! Great days. Thanks again.
Some more underrated film from acclaimed directors I’d love to see you make video essays on are: After Hours - Martin Scorsese The Bed Sitting Room - Richard Lester Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire - Alan Clarke A Boy and His Dog - L. Q. Jones The City of Lost Children - Jean-Pierre Jeunet Heavenly Creatures - Peter Jackson The Kentucky Fried Movie - John Landis Matchstick Men - Ridley Scott Matinee - Joe Dante Melvin and Howard - Jonathan Demme Phantom of the Paradise - Brian De Palma Polyester - John Waters Repo Man - Alex Cox Shallow Grave - Danny Boyle Short Cuts - Robert Altman Strange Days - Kathryn Bigelow Streets of Fire - Walter Hill Stroszek - Werner Herzog Subway - Luc Besson Time Bandits - Terry Gilliam To Live and Die in L.A. - William Friedkin Wild at Heart - David Lynch
Thanks for watching that is an awesome list! Some of my favourites in there. I've been collecting Joe Dante's work for a while so Matinee will be on the way first most likely Street of Fire too. I also have a collaboration coming out soon with another channel called SquabbleBox on Repo Man so watch this space! Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. Yeah it may not be the best way to describe them I did this one unscripted lol I guess I called them that as I figured they were a civilian addition to the army that Cyrus already had with The Riffs. Thanks again, I'm a big fan of your channel means a lot that you've taken the time to watch.
I love how everything old is considered amazing. It's ok, it's definitely dated and not very well made, but if you only care about nostalgia then it's ok. I wouldn't say it was a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but to each their own...
Excellent piece of cinema but the first time I noticed Walter Hill was The Long Riders, that lead me towards Milius and Dillinger. In the 80's, apparently these directors were fascists.
Thanks for watching. One of the first for me was Streets of Fire ❤🔥John Milius is a genius, Big Wednesday, Wind and the Lion and Farewell to the King are inspiring movies and great pieces of cinema, both incredible filmmakers. Thanks again.
@@starkillerclub3755 Thanks for watching. Yep I agree 100%, the og is best. I can see what Hill was going for in the DC but didn't work for me either. Thanks again.
Yeah, it is really hard to watch if you grew up with original. And I know what you mean about the amateurish look, it almost looks like a drag and drop effect lol I was so glad I kept my old versions after buying the directors cut.
@@johnrenneysboneyardcinema i could be wrong but i believe the Australian blu ray and the new US 4k has both versions . Also i was watching it on now tv and it seams to be HD and the theatrical cut .

Love the warriors but i loath that directors cut with its amateur final cut screen transitions
Militia. Never thought of them in that term

I don't watch movies made before I was born but there are exceptions: warriors, bad boys and few others
And here I thought that the radiocommentator in John Wick 4´s third act was an original idea ... sigh
It was not the most original idea in cinema; it was a tribute

Go with the original cut, the comic book stuff doesn't work, imo

You can always watch Sin City or Creepshow where the comic book pages between scenes actually add to the movie
director's Cut is atrocious - avoid
@@TheDojo-no7cw I agree, for fans of the original it definetly ruins the atmosphere and wonderful cinematography. Thanks for watching.
