@@ulwarriors Yes and no. If you install just a mono amp and sub, the factory amp and sub will remain operable. If you’re installing the full amp system, no. The new amp system bypasses the factory amp which abandons the factory sub. BUT, there is an option! You can either install our MBQ OEM replacement sub which will connect to the new amp and will take the place of the factory sub location, or if you want 2 subs, you can replace the OEM sub with our MBQ sub AND install a 2nd sub. If you’re wanting the 2 sub option, I’d recommend contacting us so we can prepare a different amp configuration to provide more power to handle the 2 sub solution.

@@ZEPLUS7 That’s not typical no. I would check that nothing behind them is rattling but also check your radio settings. Do you have a factory radio or aftermarket? What are the settings set to?

Hello There- I would ask what the bass is set at on your factory radio. Keep in mind that those Kicker speakers thrive with the more power that they're provided. If your pushing them with the factory power, there is only so much that they're receiving. When speakers aren't provided enough power, they will struggle to produce loud sound, potentially leading to distorted audio, especially at higher volume levels. If you add the Kicker Hideaway which is what I believe you're referring to, you can add bass into the Jeep and lower the bass on the radio, however this isn't resolving the problem. To truly resolve it, adding an amplifier is the full solution while adding the Hideaway and lowering the radio bass is a workaround, but it's not solving the problem. Hope this helps.

@@trailseven I don’t have the bass very high, but I have the stock 5” head unit and no amplifier. I may just have to buy an aftermarket head unit to get the full potential. I was hoping to wait as they are pricy, but I might have to go that route before adding a subwoofer. Thank you

@ An aftermarket radio will help with a little more power as well as adjustability vs the basic adjustments with the factory. We carry Stingers Heigh10 which has been reduced to $999 if that helps with an option.

@@martyc99934 The amp bracket and installation is the same in the 2-door models. We’ve only found that if using the Alpine V90 amp which is a bit on the larger side, the amp needs to be mounted further forward on the amp board due to a seatbelt contraption that’s mounted right near where the amp bracket mounts. Other than that, the installation is the same, so this install applies for the 2 and 4 door models.

@@trailseven Thanks for the info and quick reply. I'm trying to shop a sub as well, are there any good options for an enclosure that doesn't require tailgate drilling? I've seen some of the 'pod' style, but those don't seem to work because of the reduced cargo space.

@ I would recommend the Kicker Down-Firing subwoofer. Although it rests in the cargo area, it’s super sturdy and is intended to be able to stack items on top of so your cargo area is still somewhat retained.

@@jrivera123z Sorry for the delay. The 6000 is capable of 1 rear camera. I’d recommend the Sony 9000 for a front camera radio option.

@@mgmaier75 Not at all. Both are insulated and the interference issue is more prevalent when running RCA’s parallel with power.

@trailseven you know the bezel that keeps the unit in the frame you guys provide. It's very flimsy and keeps popping out in the simplest pump. So my tuning slides out while driving. Your installation video doesn't address that.

Sorry but can reference the speed sensor wire? There isn’t anything separate from what is shown in the install here.

@@jmoore1741 The JK dash is almost one of the easiest dash boards to disassemble, however we understand if it’s beyond your comfort zone.

I've installed aftermarket radios in probably every car I've ever owned at some point. This is by far the easiest install I've ever done. Not only was everything pre-wired for a plug-and-play experience, but the jeep trim was beyond stupid easy to remove and routing cables was beyond stupid easy. Maybe you have absolutely zero patience for this stuff which is understandable, but when it comes to installing aftermarket stereos in a vehicle this is about as easy as it can possibly get. It took me maybe an hour to install including installing the back-up camera. I highly recommend to just buy this kit and take it to a car stereo installer to put it in. I got this kit for my mom and she was literally in tears she was so happy with the result.

@@mgmaier75 This Gladiator IS equipped with the factory Alpine sub. The Hideaway fits right next to it. It definitely over powers the factory sub.

@@jlang8213 These Kicker speakers are wanting and thriving for aftermarket power. The KS particularly are designed to perform with much more power than the factory system can provide.

@@jlang8213 You’re very welcome. Glad that you asked, you can select the speakers marked for the factory amplified system. Be sure not to connect the teeter in the pod prior to installing the amplifier. You can install the speaker pods and leave that tweeter connection not attached until the amp is installed. Installing prior to will cause power issues with the radio.

@@FiremanGMC Does the Alpine head unit have a reverse camera also? Is that what you mean? This video covers the front cam and dash camera installation. A backup camera can be added as well.

Yes, I was originally going to go with the Sony 4k or 6K w backup camera, but saw a TikTok about dash cams. As I wasn’t sure if you cld have all 4 cameras in one head unit, ie front/reverse cam & dash/rear recording cams.

@@FiremanGMC That is correct, the iLX-507 will support the Alpine front, Alpine dash, and Alpine rear camera.
