I'm surprised there isn't an OBD data line in the uConnect area that could be used instead of routing all the way to the diagnostic port. Everything in these jeeps is on the CAN bus, uConnect surely is too, no?
Thank you very much for your support. The OBD connection is only needed to read the vehicles diagnostics. I’m sure there is a savvy wiring schematic that could grab the data from elsewhere.
For the beige connector that you show at 13:42 and eventually plug into the gray connector at 14:50, where does that gray connector go? Is it a USB port for phone charging? If so, where is the charging port located?
@@JamesVn53 If your Jeep is not factory equipped with U-connect, that connection will not apply. The Jeeps without Uconnect will remove the gray connector at the end and will utilize the USB connection for charging.
That is correct! The head unit has 2 HDMI ports to extend a cable from the back of the unit to a location of your choice for access which you can stream from your phone.
