Just beautiful and I love the hardware!
Thanks so much!
If I were to order this paint, how much would I need? I see different options on the website.
I would love to have wooden paneling 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍😍😍
I wish so badly I had the real stuff! The tongue and groove, 3/4” thick PickWick paneling! What a DREAM that would be! It’s hard to even find these days. And where it is available, it is not cheap as you can imagine!
You are very talented 💚 Gorgeous Green 📗
Thank you so much 😊
Wow! It’s gorgeous ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Divine!
Absolutely beautiful love the color and gloss💙
If I’m painting a wall, would I need to do the initial sanding it before using primer?
I love the post on Pinterest that showed the Golden Oak cabinets painted over in an Alabaster paint color you did. I wish I could somehow send you a pic of my almost fully renovated kitchen I did. I have all new stainless appliances, laid down Mannington's resilient vinyl floor that looks like hardwood (med oak) a grey counter top with hints of alabaster and black ( Dolce Vita Formica) and my new Black Walnut and Matte Black Epoxy table which has black metal legs I had cut and made to my specifications. The only problem is I haven't tackled the original golden oak cabinets and I'm torn between an Alabaster ( walls are all Ivory) a grey or Black stain. I'm contemplating sanding the cupboards and staining dual colors, a color stain that would match the floors on the cabinets and then staining the doors a dark smoke almost black but have never seen any pics of anyone doing that. I know dark colors would show dust and look dirty so maybe the full Alabaster would look nice? Thoughts?
i think you may have just inadvertently solved a major issue i have been having shooting this product. thank you so much.
Oh good! Hope you’ll come back and give me an update next time you spray!
Just curious if a hvlp sprayer will get the same results?
Those repeat questions and those people trying not to give you the credit therefore to them it’s all in the can. 🤣 🤣🤣🤣. If it was that easy everyone would know about FPofE🙄. Beautiful and amazing work .🤩
I love this!! I might do this for my cabinets too!!
I wanted to strangle myself with the amount of sanding and coatings in this video! It came out beautifully however!
Yes, I want to strangle my own self every day due to the sanding. I get it.
Green has always been my favorite. This is stunning
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, how pretty! The piece definitely looks more expensive after the paint job than it did before.
Wow, very cool! I love the color too! I've never done high gloss. Looking at the prep, set up for spraying, x2 I wonder how much this piece of furniture sold for? Stunning! Katie Scott recommended your tutorials on high gloss painting
Lmaoooooo
What’s the filters on the plastic wall for? Do you have them attached to a suction vac or air circulation system?
I was thinking about what to say, so I settled for: Marry me and have my carpenter children.
🤣🤣🤣
WOW 😮 I'm impressed 💯 how beautiful job 👍🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
LOVE this!! The girls that get it get
Bingo
OMG I can't believe I found you. Listen, or read rather, someone shared this video with me on Facebook and I lost this video. I'm a perfectionist and I love when people do things right. Your finish is the absolute best I've seen on UA-cam.
Hi, welcome:) I’m glad you’re here. Thank you for your kind words😘 xo Kayla
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Wowza, I am going to apply this tip to all my projects ❤
Absolutely beautiful. The clearest, most thorough explanation of what goes into something like this that I have heard. I'm definitely a fan now!
Thank you for your kind comment 🙏🏼❤️
Any brush recommend for this process?
Yes! I’ve linked three of my favorite brush recommendations in this post, liketk.it/3JLgg xo Kayla
Amazing work Kayla! 💛
Thank you!!
Your attention to detail is so very impressive.
Thank you very much!
Love it!
just bought this starting tomorrow 😬 thanks for the inspiration
What brand of roller do you use? With the brushes would do the smaller white bristle brushes give you more control? I saw you said the One brush is best but because it is bigger do you still have the same control?
The One brush comes in several different widths! The 50mm ONE brush is the one I seem to reach for most often. And roller covers, these are the absolute best I’ve ever used. Hands down. rstyle.me/+7ZoKhYIT0g1eqG_5ulZONA (affiliate link) Xo Kayla
I love this - what a brilliant colour & finish. Thank you for sharing all the details within the process ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
Beautiful
Awesome 👌, you dont make a final clear laquer for protection or no need? Thank you 🙏
Thanks:) no clear lacquer needed on top of oil enamel:)
Question after you roll do you put paint on the brush to tip off the paint? Or do you tip with a dry brush? Silly question but I’m new here. Thanks!!
That's not a silly question at all. In fact it's a great question...and one I should've addressed in the video but I didn't think to! You don't load the brush with paint to tip off, but you don't use it completely dry either. Dip the brush into the paint, but then rake the bristles on the side of the paint can or pail to remove the paint from the bristles. You want the bristles to be wet with paint, but not loaded. Then after tipping off, you'll rake the paint that accumulates onto the brush back into the paint pail/bucket. Great question:) And thanks for asking! xo
@@KaylaPaynethank you so much!! I truly appreciate your advise. Wish I could chat with you I have 2 questions you’ll be able to answer as an expert. I will try this on my vanity soon. I’m a messy painter I blame it on being left handed! Lol
ahh!!! i wish i had watched this last week. i only painted our island using a paintbrush, and used the benjamin moor paint, which is excellent, but i definitely have some leveling issues where i start to paint in every section. i’m going to sand it all and do it again using this method. thank you for explaining this so articulately that i understand.
Thanks for your comment! I'm confident that after you sand your island then re-do using this method - you'll be more pleased with the results. Remember, when painting a larger panel, like the side of your island for instance, you will need to do it in sections.... Like the following: Start on the left hand side of the panel. Roll about a 6 inch wide section top to bottom, then immediately tip off that rolled section top to bottom. Then you'll roll out another 6" wide section slightly overlapping the previous section. Then tip it off. Doing it in sections allows you to maintain a wet edge which is super important to get the entire panel to lay out and look the best. Best of luck! xo
I purchased her master class 2 years ago and have been locked in fear of how big the project is. I contacted Kayla and she immediately responded and even offered to walk me through each step. She’s amazing. Can’t recommend her enough. Still need to get started 🤦🏻♀️
Oh my goodness, thank you for your sweet comment! Girl, let's get you started! Reach out to me on Instagram...I'll give you another pep talk:) I know it's scary, but you have the process laid out and in your pocket. Maybe you could start on something smaller first so it's not so daunting. Do you have an island in the kitchen? Or what about a small bathroom vanity that you're wanting painted perhaps? Starting on a smaller area will give you the confidence boost needed to tackle the larger kitchen! Seriously, send me a DM on Instagram! xo
@@KaylaPayne I had company the whole month of February. I'm going to start the Island this next week after I've gathered ALL of my needed supplies. I will be reaching out as we discussed to show you each step. SO very Grateful for your help.
Water 💦?? Or is it fake?
If you aren’t using a sprayer for the high gloss and you are brushing it on, do you need the fans and filters or can you just tarp it down?
It would still be a great idea to filter the booth and run fan constantly before, during and after brushing! It will help control the ambient dust!
@@KaylaPayne I start doing my set up tomorrow for the neg air room (Fine Paints of Europe primer/Hollandlac cabinets). WISH ME LUCK! I followed your purchase guide for cabinet painting. I'm rolling and back brushing though. I don't have extra funds for sprayer. My cabinets are melamine. ** 1. When I do my initial sanding, before priming, do I need to be more careful with these than tradition wood? ** 2. That last round of sanding before the final coat. I've heard you say you used 400 grit in a prior high gloss video but in the "cabinet shopping list" the highest grit was 320 (ish?). Is one more preferable before the last coat?
Love it!
So glad!
Im doing a bathroom vanity and , Ill try the tip method. 🤞
First off the velour roller is inferior to the foam roller made for cabinets. Ive refinished cabinets for 35 yrs. I spray bases and doors- 2 coats primer and 2 coats paint. Maybe a clear coat on top
What kind of brush is best?
I've linked to 3 of the brushes I use in this post! liketk.it/3JLgg (affiliate link)
@@KaylaPayne Thank you!
This is a fantastic video! Thank you
Thanks!
perfect timing- thank you. I am about to start painting. Would you think spraying is the best way to get a pro finish if you didnt want to roll/brush?
Yes, if you want a 100% brush-stroke-free paint job (or a roller-texture-free paint job) then spraying will be your best option. However, just because a paint finish has been applied with a sprayer, doesn't instantly mean that it will look the best. It's not always quite as simple as just getting a sprayer then going to town spraying paint. On top of all of the prep work being executed properly, the paint sprayer itself and the use of the sprayer also needs to be on point. Most (if not all) entry-level sprayers simply aren't powerful enough to atomize the paint small enough to achieve that perfectly flat, smooth paint finish you're hoping for. Instead, they can leave an orange peel mess, on top of the other possible mishaps like splatters, drips, runs, uneven spray patterns etc. Sorry for the novel length response! I just felt like I needed to elaborate somewhat since it's such a nuanced topic. Hope this helps! xo
What is your favorite go-to brush that doesn't leave streaks?
I've linked to the 3 brushes I use most in this post... liketk.it/3JLgg In that post, the Staalmeester brush is my favorite, but I also included two others that are less costly! (affiliate link)
This is amazing!!! Love it! I am about to paint my cabinets so the timing of this video was perfect!
I can't wait to see!
It would in fact drive me crazy. Thanks for the tip! I’m painting all my cabinets this summer 🤘
Happy to help! Good luck 👍🏼
Wow, that simple tip packs a big punch.
🫶🏼🩷 thanks for always being awesome Lindsey!
