Sea-doo Vibration and Engine Noise
I've been experiencing a slight vibration and an engine noise that could only be heard live. I believe I know what the problem is, and it lies with the pump.

SeaDoo will not start up pt 2. Is it the carb check valves?
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 місяці тому
In the first video, I checked spark and compression, changed the fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel selector, but my 98 GTS still would not start. That only leaves the carb, so today we are pulling the carb to find out what is keeping this ski from starting up.
SeaDoo will not start up. Replace fuel system step by step.

My 98 Seadoo will not start, it just cranks over and over. It has to be my fuel line system or a dirty carb. I'm going to change the fuel lines, fuel selector and filter first to see if that fixes my start up problem. If not, I'll pull the carb.

Seadoo 787 engine full of 2 stroke oil after sitting. installing a shutoff valve.
Переглядів 1,2 тис.9 місяців тому
I have a bad crank seal which allows oil to fill the crank case. I've never had this boat on the water since buying it about a year ago and I don't have time for an engine rebuild right now. So, I'm installing a shutoff valve on the oil line so that I can at least get it on the water before the boating season ends. I'll do the rebuild over the winter months.

    Where do you live at in Mississippi? I just bought a 2006 Kawasaki stx 900. My story is just like yours! I have no knowledge of jet skis and this is my first one. It runs but runs slow. Any ideas? I wish I could meet you so you could give me some pointers..

      I live in the northwest corner of MS. I'm only about 30 minutes from Memphis, TN. Going slow could be one of a number of things like the jet pump, carbs, compression or fuel lines. If you don't know the history of the jet ski and how it was maintained, then you kinda have to go a step at a time until you find it. Do what I did and search message boards. I find a lot of answers there.

      @@papadonjetski9535 GLd to hear that, I just picked up a 2001 lx 800. It’s having a cavitation issue outta the hole. I bought the pump seal kit to fill all the voids in the plate underneath. I’ll be installing it tomorrow and resealing the plate and shoe. Hopefully that solves that issue. It has a solas impeller and a new wear that look in great condition.

    I thouroughy enjoyed your video. I am 71, and know nothing about jet skis. I have begun watching you tube videos on these things. I am mechanically inclined so that doesn't bother me. Anything cheap around here never has titles to them. I was given a pair of 1997 seadoo xps . Both of them absolute basket cases. No titles. I guess I will attemp to rebuild one just for the fun of it. Are all the parts on these things, one year, or can some parts interchangeable? Have a great day!

    • @papadonjetski9535
      @papadonjetski9535 7 днів тому

      97 SPX's are great skis. A very tight hull to work in but I love my XPS. You will find that a lot of parts are interchangeable. Some parts are specific to the engine but many can be used in different skis. In fact, I've used parts from a Ploaris on Seadoos and Kawasakis.

    Hey boss , I have a question , I recently bought a 2003 GP1300r about a month ago. The ski runs , took it on the water for a full day and it worked perfect except the fuel hose kept coming off which led to getting fuel in the hull , second time around I took it on the lake and same thing happened and when I tried starting it back up I guess the gas and a spark w the battery created like an explosion but nothing huge , nothing broke just burnt some hairs of my leg 😅 but right after that I let it sit for a while and it started right back up with no problems! What do you think I should do apart from fixing the hose so is longer and doesn’t come off ? Also it has around 190 hours ! And is it normal for it to let out a lot of smoke ?

    • @papadonjetski9535
      @papadonjetski9535 21 день тому

      Man, you are living life on the edge! That ski could have exploded into flames and hurt you seriously. It may have not damaged the ski, just consumed the fumes from the fuel. It is normal to smoke at first, but it should clear up as you ride. If it doesn't then your fuel/oil mixture is off.

    😢 I have a 1998 GTS 717 seadoo, bought new. Does the oil injector move with the throttle. What makes the injector move. I just installed carb & cables. The throttle operates great however the injector is not spring loaded & doesn’t move with the throttle cable. Does it move only when the engine is running? Thanks.

    • @papadonjetski9535
      @papadonjetski9535 21 день тому

      Sorry for the very late reply. Did you get this figured out already? Yes, the oil injector works in conjunction with your throttle so that you always get the correct amount of oil. The oil pump lever that your cable connects to can be tricky. It is spring loaded, but you have to turn the lever counterclockwise a full rotation or more before the spring takes effect. Is your missing the spring? If it is working correctly then it will work with the engine shut off.

    I think the scuffing on the piston sides might be due to not being warmed up fully before high speed use. Not sure though. "Cold seizure" it may be called? Doesn't look nearly as bad as some I've seen. 2 Strokes are very temperature sensitive. Usually on the exhaust side of the piston if it cold seizure. Hot expanding piston and a cold water-bathed cylinder. I may not be correct on this. Just something I heard about in places with colder water.
