Finally, 96 Seadoo GTX runs!

It has been 2 months, maybe more since I finished the engine rebuild. However, I had to wait all of this time to have a key programed. Starts right up and sounds good, now I just need to do some cosmetic work to complete the project.

Awesome job and thanks for the vids, I have to wait until winter passes where I live so anything pwc is welcomed. Also I have been using bar keepers friend with an ultra scotch brite pad (I think it’s tan) to clean the hulls. It has been working very well for me. Just polish and apply wax afterwards.

I have never used BKF, is it a liquid or powder? I have been using bleach/water mix, Star Brite hull cleaner and bug and tar remover and nothing is getting the stains out of the foot wells. I guess they have sat out uncovered too many years.

I left one in the off position while trying to start one to sell it. Needless to say I ran the battery dead trying to start it and that guy didnt buy the ski which I told him started every time. I felt like a fool.

I don't know whether to laugh or feel bad for you...maybe both? I can picture in my head that happening to me. As the engine continually turns over with no start, I'm telling the guy I don't know what is wrong, it usually starts right up!

Where do you get your parts? I also have a 1996 GTX and GTI.

For good used parts I usually buy from Jetski Plus. Other than that I google the part and buy from the cheapest vendor.

First of all, I assume by your avatar you are a Christian. I am as well and agree that the most important relationship to have is with God. Going by what you described, the problem is with your key or dess post. Has your key been working previously?
