Great review! Did you do the flare test with the 40mm lens? You mention that the 40mm lens is the one you started to use most frequently, but the tests with the sidewall are with the 25/35/50mm lens. I saw in a test that the 40mm flare has a small circle in the center, which looks a little strange. Did you notice that or is the flare on the 40mm similar to the 35mm?

Honestly, I've watched quite a few comparisons with Arles lenses, and this one is by far the best. I don't know whether it's the Alexa, the Signatures or simply the simplicity of the comparison. Great video!

Cool vid. Would be great if the side by side were in sync. They seem to be toe to toe in IQ after it’s a character taste/need for the flares. I prefer the Arles but in some cases these flares could be too present. If you shot a doc with night scenes etc… the dzo might have too much flare all the time

Thanks, Cody. Funny, the first time I watched I was only in HD mode. Couldn't see much of a sharpness difference between the two. But watching in 4K you can definitely see it. The DZO's are impressive for their price point, I'll agree. Breathing seems minimal. Very comparable image to the ARRI's. Haven't seen a review like this yet. Really appreciate you doing it.

the Arles look a bit more contrasty (which I like) and the sharpness rolloff is nicer on the Cooks. thats both very subtle - other than that it is hard to see any difference for me…
