I'd seen photos of the corbin seat and it looked ok but after seeing your video, which was good by the way, I don't think i"ll bother. I find the stock seat good looking anyway and its comfortable for me. Glad you did the vid as it made up my mind. keep up the good work.
Love your honest and thorough content. Good stuff for people looking into getting this bike because there is almost no videos describing any aftermarket
I have the single seater version, absolutely love it. Totally transforms the look of the bike and doesn't give me cramps like the stock seat did. The single version integrates the taillight a lot better, although that's at the expense of a passenger seat, obviously. Overall, would recommend. Very pricey though.
I had not seen the Kelpi custom seat before I got the Corbin. That uses the OEM base, whereas Corbin makes their own base out of some kind of fiberglass, and it’s noticeably heavier than the OEM shell and seat. The Kelpi really looks good. I am actually considering getting one now.
Thanks for the video sir, please keep us posted on further updates and issues with the bike. I'm very interested in buying one and I'm glad I found your channel. It's going to be either this bike or the BMW r ninet
beautiful shots showing the taper that yamaha provided; for no reason. the flat big passenger seat is perfect shape; just needs more padding to be as hi; or higher. The comment about the hump being moved back-- YES why as driver doesnt need to sit on 15" of space . I'd make the passenger seat longer-imo
Yes, its the OEM tail light. The shape of the tail is excellent if one is going to use a tailbag like the Kriega US-5 dry bag that I use. The almost total lack of storage on the bike, especially with the stock seat shape, makes the Corbin Gunfighter and Lady seat a good option. With the Kriega in place (unless its packed to the gills) it does not stick up super tall and it still gives you some room for at least a little bit of storage.
I too have XSR900. For seat comfort, I use my 20 year old airhawk inflatable seat pad. I've probably put 50,000 miles on it over the years, using it on my '99R1, '77XS650, and '19 Triumph Speed Twin. I highly recommend this seat pad, which provides all day riding comfort.
Interesting. Is the Airhawk Inflatable seat pad still in production and available? Others may want it, but for me I am very happy with the Corbin seat with respect to the comfort (and appearance).
I like the look, but I think I may try to find a local upholstery place that can add some stuffing to the primary seating area. I think that its just a bit to hard there. I dont have enough complaints yet.. so maybe a next winter time project.
lovely. seems far better for passenger for width . length could be more as driver don't need all than room that sits vacant. the seat padding could have been like original; just wider. I dont need a complaining back seat driver
Believe it or not I have a year with the bike now and have yet to take a passenger on it! I by myself have ridden for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours straight without a dismount at a a time on many occasions and a few times for around 7-8 hours cumulative in a single day but with multiple stops for fuel, stretch breaks, etc. That said, just looking at this Corbin compared to the stock - particularly the rear area where a passenger would sit, there is ALOT more seat space for the passenger than on the stock seat, which you can see is much narrower at the back and tapers. The Corbin is quite a bit wider - and note this is Corbin’s “Gunfighter and Lady” version - they make a different version for single riders. I’m certain this Corbin for a passenger would be more comfortable than the OEM seat. While I have a couple of potential passenger riders who might ride with me at some point, it’s not likely to be anytime soon, and even so it’s very unlikely to be a ride of over and hour or so.
Dart Flyscreens in the UK. The specific windscreen is their “Marlin” model in light tint. See my UA-cam video about it - link below. In the video’s description there is also a link to a forum posting about the windscreen at the FZ09 forums: ua-cam.com/video/f60rlkhrXBw/v-deo.html
@@raisingcane225 Thank you, I realized after that you had a specific video on the flyscreen. Think I will get one because need it for some travelling I'm planning to do soon. Great mods and gorgeous seat by the way. Thanks.
www.corbin.com/yamaha/yxsr920gl.shtml Read the video description for exact details of the order. Be aware it is an expensive seat and shipping cost within the USA was around $80
I explained in another video why. My boat, with its registration # and trailer plate was once on a list of boats found with a boat thief in his stolen truck with a stolen boat in tow. He had the addresses of all the boats and mine was targeted to be stolen. Police Detectives came and told me about this at the time so as to take extra security precautions, which I already had but beefed up more. I’ve not forgotten that and it is not too hard to track people and their property with enough data. I’d prefer not to give it to them on a silver platter.

These seats are very cool!
I use them myself.
That Corbin looks really good on the XSR. Really cleans up the look on the tail. The yellow matching piping really nice touch too.
Terrible looking

Where did you get that ?
Thanks, just got an xsr, that's a nice looking seat, btw what windshield is that? looks like it would work well....
I actually love the design of the stock seat. The Corbin looks comfy but I wish the taillight was less visible like the stock seat

Is that the original tail light on there? I really like the look of the stitching on the Corbin and the shape of the tail as well.

Good job, new subscriber
Nice ride!
Looks good
Can we see a side view of the windscreen
Can you give feedback you got from a passenger? I'm wondering if a couple hours is possible.
