This bike is 100% on par with my Honda NC750x DCT for pure riding pleasure. I can't find any thing I don't like, Except I need money to buy one, that's not the Goldwings fault.

I mean the standard
The hima 411 bs 4 is better to drive when there is bad weather and wind than the 450.i have both. The 550 has more power and also to heavy to put the hima 450 from the pickel
Anyone who owns an NC750 is a smart person. I don't have one, but I keep my eyes open for a good deal on one. I would choose it over the Talp 100%.
@@jonwoodworker Thanks I now can class myself as above average😂😂😂👍🍻
a fantastic bike for sure but a mighty NC it aint ! Nice look at the Goldwing mate, good job.
@@icedidi yes I'll stick with the NC👍👍👍🍻
About 2 years ago I had a Goldwing for a day down in Exeter. Fell in love straight away. Even for a 5'9 shortarse like me it was easy and so so nimble at slow speed. However I live in the Black Mountains in Wales with snotty little lanes and even when I get to Motorways and A roads, these days they're like Nepalise mountain tracks after they've been bombed. Therefore unless I move to France or California I'll have to stick to my GS.
Makes sense Paul, I think you can ride it on many road types, but risk rises with the more narrow and I wouldn't trust it on mudy slippy back roads, but a fantastic bike never the less, my pockets just aren't that deep I would still choose my NC over it👍👍👍
Hi Paul. Interesting vid on the Golf Wing. Talking of economy , I ride my NC from Halifax to camp in North Wales, then do the Horseshoe Pass, arrive back in the garage just before the fuel light comes on, doing about 74mpg with all the camping gear on. If I do a straight run from Halifax to Scarborough (where it’s a bit flatter) with no camping gear it’s touching 80mpg. I’m not hanging around either, I’m running the manual gearbox.
@@colinbarber9324 I think it's as big as a golf😂😂👍
Hi Paul, just been into Youles yesterday and bought my first DCT.. it was a choice between the mighty NC and the mighty Rebel 1100..but because I'm coming off a vstrom and fancied a complete change i opted for the Rebel..i took one for a test ride and absolutely fell in love with the bike and the dct, can't wait to collect it..and whilst i was there i got a quote on a Goldwing £4000 down and £316 a month😂😂 maybe one day..it was Brad who i dealt with.
You love it, I rode the 500 but it's shorter, must get them to let me have a ride, you be like a Wild Hogg on it🤣👍👍send me a pic
Yeah, you would love the Rebel 1100 dct not as practical as the NC but an absolute blast to ride..@@birchwoodbiker
Great to see you out again. Ade
Thanks ade👍
Goldwing was an interesting bike when they appeared in '70s. Concept could have been improved so much with improved handling, performance & handling sticking with 1000cc flat four layout. 1800cc six seems so American & a waste. Supercharged 750cc would have been interesting.
I have a friend who had the original 1000cc 1979 model he loved it, they are just like driving a car the 1800👍👍👍
Your comments on the Goldwing was very good you were very honest as i said before I live in Spain the serviceing hear is a lot cheaper England not so good but I enjoyed it very much thank you and the wife does nod off on the back sometimes great to be alive cheers
Can't fault it, I would like one sat next to my NC then I'd have the best of both worlds ride safe BB👍👍👍
Blake was here 😊
Loved your phot this morning, I'm 60 miles from the North Sea not quite the same🤣🤣👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker sorry, I was watching your vid while I was getting ready this morning. So when I know I am bouncing in and out of where the phone is, I just that blank statement. Still interacting with YT! As far as the sand and morning pics, I live 60 feet from the sand dune as I am sure you know. Walk that beach almost every morning.
The goldwing really is a touring bike for highway miles. I wouldnt want it for our narrow small country lanes. I did wonder something, do u sometimes travel with your NC? I dont think u have ever made a travelling video (multi day) or do u just keep it at day trips?
I haven't had chance on the NC yet, but previous 2 yes, I'd like to get to Spain but this HA has put me down a few pegs, but I will be doing few small trips to Scotland with my tent before winter comes👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker Allright nice, definitely looking forward to those videos :)
As I have said previously, if I could only have one bike it would be my NC750X. My second bike would be my ZZR1441 My third bike is a classic (I own an old Kawasaki) A Gold-Wing in my garage would be relegated to 4th position. My issues are it is not overly good for filtering on British A-roads. It isn't overly good at dealing with nadgery little lanes in the Scottish Highlands, and it is a heavy old beast around town. I reckon these bikes are ideal if you live in the US of A, or you wish to ride to Palermo in Sicily. Don't get me wrong, having owned a GL1800 they are truly incredible machines, but they have a very limited appeal for the riding I do...Hence I sold mine.
That's it Bib until you have one to live with your drawn in by the short buz you get, I would still have my NC over it, but for a tour on open roads with lack of traffic would be great, we all have to have a dream now and then👍👍👍
Nice one Paul, an honest first hand review from someone who rides a lot. Cheers bud.😊
Thank you👍
I wonder if the guys who lent you their 30K bike would be happy with you taking it down a gravel lane. I for one certainly wouldn't want to buy it now.
Well 0 damage was done to it, and many rider's will take there Goldwings down worse tracks, but I understand your opinion, people who are serious about buying one now know they can do it easily👍
Great vlog bud , what a Machine , still I cant fault my NC DCT , hope your getting back to full heath now buddy
Cheers Dale, I still love the NC and would still be my 1st choice GW 2nd 🤣👍
Unfortunately I judge my bikes by the size of my wallet an £32 big ones for a bike I wouldn’t be able to justify
I'm in the same boat, but don't mind waiting couple of years and buying 2nd hand, still worth the chance to ride it FANTASTIC👍👍👍
I’ve a 1800C version which is more basic, great smooth engine, very stable, brilliant for A roads, but tight lanes need concentration and every-time I stop I think; “what’s going on here?” Ie what’s the camber, slope, gravel situation etc. yes the weight is low down, but the C is still 340 Kg and on one leg it can be daunting. I’ve not taken a pillion yet, but can only imagine that is even more tricky.
i can only say you lucky person 🤣but your right about stopping I had 2 places on the ride it could of easily gone over, and I could imaging fully loaded it would be a thing you have to be extremely carefully, still a brilliant bike👍👍👍
How do you find the suspension? I’m thinking of getting one (my other consideration is a nx500) - mainly for blasting around rough country lanes but worry the suspension won’t be up to it
Hi Kenny it's great for the road I had fun but it's not designed for off road👍👍👍
A fun description mate. Cheers from America! My wife is from Uddingston. So it was easy to follow you. I got my ‘dream wing’ in 2022, have 23,000 miles so far. The more you know the bigger the smiles! Last bike I will ever buy, at 69 years young! Be careful of ‘sport mode’ brother!
Fantastic is the only words I would of never believed that bike rides like it does if I didn't get a chance to ride it, your a lucky person ride safe and for as long as you can. PS WILDHOGGS best biker film ever🤣🤣🤣👍
I have just got one been my dream to have one since a kid now 65 just lost my dad and. Thought what the hell mine is a 2020 tour dct with 5000 miles just booked her in for a tire change my insurance is £300 a year I have been riding bikes since 16 years old you are right it is a dream just getting used to the weight on the move no problem moving in garage yes heavy but what a bike ❤❤
You lucky Lucky biker Tim Jealous, they are unbelievable, and you don't need to ride safe on them they have everything, and for the size the brakes are brilliant enjoy every min BB 👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker thank you fantastic review by the way 👍
How tall are you.
5.10 30" inside leg👍
I recently swapped my 2018 ATAS for a 2023 NC750X DCT. They both have the same instrument set-up. Different screens. I had my AT for 3 years as a daily. I loved owning and riding it, both on and off-road, but it's just too top heavy. I tested a newer AT with the DCT and really enjoyed it. But. Same weight problems and that bloody over complex instrument cluster was a no no for me. The NC is just one of those bikes that will blow you away with it's abilities. It's so well engineered and intelligently designed. Great ride. Fully useable power range. Huge torque. Love it.
Hat's why I'm on my 3r, I loved the AT but like you said the instrument cluster and top heavy side went slightly against, but the truth we just learn to live with good and bad NC needs a bit more modinaisation now, but I never have a bad day riding it👍👍👍
I am not rich. Worked 2 jobs and saved like hell to get one. Sold most of my bikes. It was an investment similar to a house in some ways. Didnt like your comment "if you had one of these you wouldnt miss the money!"
Like your good self I've now overcome my stent procedure and got used to taking the numerous drugs and for the first time since last September i got my bike out for a bimble. Its the exact opposite to that Gold wing it's a GoldStar but how did I just love getting back in the saddle.
@@ianhalliwell8604 I must start a Stent Group😂😂but for me any chance to go riding on any bike is a bonus, ride safe BB
Going on the title, 'unless you want to move it around your driveway/garage ect 😂
You be amazed how easy it is to move with the control for forward and revers, just don't run out of petrol or get a flat battery 🤣🤣🤣👍
Watching this for my pops to grab as he likes my 2024 NC750
My NC is still no 1 but that Goldwing WOW👍👍👍
I love the Gold-Wing...but if I could only have one bike it would be my NC750.
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne Bib it be the same for me NC is still my fav bike👍👍👍
Well Paul, enjoyed that and I think a test ride could well be on the horizon 👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@BackbrakeTommy Tom you love it, fancy little Italy next Saturday if your done with the crazy paving😂😂😂👍
But it’s too big like the six cylinder bmw great if you like big lumpy bikes but sorry after sixty years biking not for me, but if that rings your bell that’s ok by me
I get exactly I know it's to big but it rides like a cbf1000 I'm just glad I got to ride it👍👍👍
Hi BB they are nice bikes but expensive for the normal working person 👍🏍️
I would go for a 21 model same spec half the price just amazing bike👍👍👍
Flat six.
or even 2 flat 3 amazing bike👍👍👍
Great bikes. Without doubt the most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden. I loved my little go on one. But I was devastated when I gave the keys back because I can’t afford one.
Gilly that is both of us I tried to see if I could have it as a long termer🤣🤣🤣, best bike I've ridden
OK mate you've talked me into it. As soon as I win the lottery I'm having one.
You don't need to win the lottery it's only a meer £300 per month on the PCP 🤣🤣🤣💰💰💰
Got to hand it to you Paul..there's not many people would take a new Goldwing down a gravel/dirt track..😂😂
Nice couple of video's you have done there of the new Goldwing DCT. I too went for test rides on bikes with my Mrs like the BMW K1600, RT1250 but did not feel right for us. We then went down to Blackpool Honda superstore were we test rid the Goldwing for the day, by the end of that day we were both sold on having one. We now have owned Goldwing for the last six months and what a great six months its been, it as got my Mrs back out in the saddle again enjoying biking. The best thing is i have a Kawasaki ZH2 as well in the garage so have best of both worlds, thanks again for the videos the mirrors are not electric you move the glass by hand 👍 and glad you found the hand brake in the end 🙂 Regards Gary
Cheers Gary you lucky person, I will most definitely have a Goldwing in the future👍👍👍
I am 70 and bought my 2nd hand wing last July it’s a 21plate full tour. I’ve had bikes my whole life, my last one was a VN900 classic which i owned for 14 years, i had major heart surgery in 22. The wing was my prize to me for surviving 2022. I love it to bits i wish i was ten years younger as im sure this machine will out live me. 😅
Just shows there a bike for everyone, I was truly amazed by it, and I'll never say never keep riding and stay safe, I'm part of the heart attack club my 1st and hope my last 6 weeks ago👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker ye mine was my 1st, but it was a bad one and required triple by pass. With the support of the family we dipped into the savings to get the bike. The wife was you have sacrificed so much to keep this family save and secure so bugger it go and get your dream.
If money grew on trees I would definitely want one haha, My local dealership offered me a test ride on one but it would spoil my current and any future bikes so i passed.
@@Kevin97587 you should of had a go, if you find a money tree please tell me as well 😂😂😂💰💰💰👍
hello, you really need to get into the habit of applying the hand brake when parking up
@@auntygreg6101 I didn't even realise Iit had one until I walked around😂👍👍
what a machine they are, i talked to a guy with one in a dealer forecourt at the start of the year who was bringing it in for a service and he loved it, it looks like a mini space shuttle to me, but i just wouldn't dare have one or ride it myself, and for the type of riding i do in the lanes and single tracks probably wouldnt be a good idea anyway, but thanks for the review.
You be amazed get a ride, I'm just releasing my proper ride on it in the lanes it's as good as any sport bikes, I had a MT09 struggling to keep up, thanks for watching don't be scared get a ride go to a Honda dealer if they have a demo you get a go👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker I look forward to the next vid. I had a purpose built bike shed built around christmas, on my drive, as the garage has been tanked out and converted into my den/office lol, so to get my bike in i have to push/reverse it in up a similar slope and turn the wheel just like you do when reversing a car into a parking spot. it can be a bit of a struggle as my bike weighs 200kg, and i made a moveable trolley that's sank into the shed floor to make lining it up easier, but it's a price i have to pay to ride and keep my steed secure, so i live with it. As the goldwing has reverse, it would possibly be no prob to get it in, but, although i really appreciate your reply, im just not feeling the love to get my own, sorry !!
Thanx for the info , very helpful
Still love the older NC the battery on the latest is now on the opposite side👍👍👍ride safe and enjoy
Hi mate, great video, ultimate comfort bike.. Would I ride one? Hell yeah.. Would I own one? Nope. I dont do enough miles for the GW to be beneficial, I couldn't afford one , nor the upkeep...
That's the problem when you ride it your emotions take over reality, if I was Rich YES I'd have one🤣👍👍
@birchwoodbiker when you went from Culcheth, Risley, then to Birchwood roundabout (industrial estates, co-op), I thought I was on my way to work for a brief moment 😆 🤣 .. If I had the money and toured a lot, defo have one..
Thanks for your vid and sharing the joy of that first and slightly confusing ride 😂 I can only disagree on servicing. It’s not difficult and saves a fortune. Chris from Cruiseman’s Garage sells a video pack which is more than enough to do routine stuff. Intervals are wide, too. Some procedures are more involved and still well within my skill set, and I’m an idiot.
I'll have to have a watch, I suppose it's all the panniers that make it look more daunting than it is👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker yeah, but the unpopping the plastic for the first time is stressy for sure, and much more complex than the ST1300 I’m more familiar with. I’ve not done the pads yet and that needs you to remove the rear wheel and a piece of exhaust shield…definitely more involved! Suddenly I’m more daunted than I was in n first comment :D
I bought one with a borrowed pocket back in March and rode it from Germany thru Spain to Ireland. I hadn’t ridden for five years and jumped on with pillion. So we dropped it when parking on Day 1 in Chamonix, and then did 2000+ Km in rain and shine on backroads and some m’way. It’s not all luxury after coming from ST1300s, and it’s just a bike. And I agree with you, what a bike!! 8,000Km later and it’s still a privilege to own and to ride; yes, a true bucket list win. Get one. It has warts and it’s EASY to service and gives me a smile everywhere we go!! Thanks for sharing the joy 😊
thanks it's great to hear from owners who have them, like any new bikes I think our excitement rules our mind👍👍👍
I love the Goldwing but unfortunately it's the right bike in the wrong country.
Cheers Paul I don't know, I'm just putting the proper ride I had on it in the Cheshire lanes, it's not a lightweight but handles Motorways better than any big bike I've ridden, and keeps up with MT09 in the twisties If you not rode one go and get a go, it's just to pricey for me, and after getting back on my NC it's still the NC750x DCT 1st for me👍👍👍
@birchwoodbiker Yes I rode one down in Exeter 2 years ago and it was amazingly nimble and soooo comfortable and I'd seriously consider even giving up my car if I had one. Unfortunately I live in the Black Mountains in South Wales and most of places I ride locally are snotty single track potholed affairs so I could only have a goldwing if I won the lottery to afford one and had a big garage!
I am 74 years old live in Spain had the dct from 2019 I have done 50.000 km it is the best ride ever when I ride I feel so young so I will keep going as long as I can the best
Fantastic doesn't matter how old we are as long as we get to ride the amazing roads around our fantastic world👍
Weird car you're riding there.
I couldn't find the doors anywhere🤣🤣🤣 👍
They look like a Caravan on two wheels .
Reference engine heat , I believe it’s the only bike with air conditioning, there’s vents in the fairing, my dream bike of all time 😊👍
Not quite my experience in a hot climate! It’s just a bike. Stop still in the Sun in temperate gear and it’s hot. The pop-up spoiler on the dash doesn’t do much IMO. Oh, and in storm force rain, it directs a deluge to yer bits!!
…its weight…
it really doesn't feel heavy when riding👍
It’s mighty heavy at times and the walk forward and back modes compensate. Speed keeps it light ;)
Love these bikes, although never riden one.
Get to your Honda dealer and get a go, nice to see you back DervMan YOU KEEPING ok👍👍👍
@@birchwoodbiker all good this end thanks 😎👍🏻
People can pay more for a car and smile less. I chose to smile. I’m lucky to be old enough to empty my pockets before I can’t ride at all and only after 5-years waiting to afford one. Meanwhile, it’s just a motorcycle. Any bike can be our dream.
