Alice, I am saddened by your video. Saddened that you believe your sins are not as bad as someone who has committed the sin of sexual immorality. Saddened that in your video that you basically say that this woman who prior to becoming a Christian committed the sin of prostitution doesnt deserve the same forgiveness that you do or even the happiness and God given joy that comes from marriage. Like all of the rest of us Alice you are a sinner and I can almost be certain you have lied atleast once in your lifetime. I could easily make the case, like you are in this video, that a man should never marry a woman who has ever lied. (Understand I do not believe this. I am only making this statement like those made by you in your video to make a point.) Relationships especially marriage are built upon trust so a woman who has ever lied in her past and has now accepted Jesus Christ as her savior may in the future return to that sin and lie again, so no man should ever marry her because perhaps she is emotionally damaged and that is why she has a tendency to lie. So because of her past and the chance that she might lie again you can never forgive her for that sin even if Jesus did and you should never consider marrying her. So since Alice has lied before you should be careful if you are considering marrying her and you probably just shouldnt do it. Do you see how judgemental this is? It does not matter what sin a person has committed, all sins are equally unrighteous to a perfect Holy God. So your sins Alice are equally as wicked as her sin of prostitution is to God. We are all sinners and equally unworthy of the Lords forgiveness that he graciously offers to us all, including the former prostitute or liar. Scripture clearly tells us as Christians it is not our place to judge each other. There is only one Judge and he is Jesus Christ. James 4:12 (LSB) “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?” Can you imagine how hurtful these words you are saying are to a woman who perhaps was a prostitute in her younger years before finding Jesus Christ because she was forced to as a child and you are now telling all men that she is not worthy to marry or of their forgiveness. That she is damaged and can only expect forgiveness from God, but not you or any man. As Christians we are not to judge our fellow brothers and sisters but instead we are to forgive even our enemies. Once a Christian has been reborn by accpting Jesus Christ as their savior ALL of their sins are no longer counted against them. Jesus paid for those sins for us all on the cross. Scripture clearly says that those Christians who cannot forgive one another will not find forgiveness themselves when they stand before Jesus and face His judgement. Matthew 6:14-15 (LSB) “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” There are many verses like this in scripture. So it is my prayer Alice that you will reconsider what you have said in this video and come to understand that as a Christian you should strive to not only forgive your fellow brothers and Sisters of their sins you should be supporting them. We are called to be a united body of Christ and a Chruch that has members trying to help each other grow more faithful and as obedient Christians together. We should be building each other up not tearing each other down like you do in this video. Galatians 6:1-2 (LSB) “Brothers, even if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, each of you looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” We should especially be supportive of our fellow sinners that have had a difficult past. It is through the power of Jesus that they have been reborn and have come to live a faithful obedient life. They have broken free from the bondage of sin by the power and forgiveness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should be supporting them so that they can have a successful marriage that is built to grow stronger by the support they are receiving from a Sister or Brother in Christ. It is my hope and prayer that you will receive my comments and that you will see scripture is clear on this matter. If a person has truly surrendered their life to Jesus Christ then all of their sins have been forgiven including all past and future no matter the sin. Hebrews 8:12 (LSB) “For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more.” We as fellow Christians are to forgive them just as Christ has forgiven us for our particular personal sins which are equally unrighteous (Sins are not graded by God with some being worse than others. All sins are equally wicked in His eyes). We are all sinners who by our faith in Jesus Christ have been reborn to become Brothers and Sisters in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (LSB) “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
