Hey hey hey Alice! Let me tell you the biggest secret about men and their deepest desire and why men and women seemingly are impossibly incompatible. What you've said is reasonable and fairly well thought through. However marriage is not about self, it's about Christ and his Church. Marriage is the place where the self goes to die. Your respect for your husband should not be based on him. It is based on Jesus' order by Paul his Apostle. Paul commands a woman/wife to submit (willfully put oneself under the authority) herself to her man/husband as unto the Lord Jesus. Many women respected their husbands at the start, but after years of familiarity, and becoming comfortable with him, they started to see flaws and become resentful. This will lead to disrespectful attitudes and behavior; first small things, then into large matters. A Christian woman's respect for her husband is not based on self or how great he is, but on her faith/trust in Jesus Christ who she claims is her Lord. If her Lord tells her to submit, how can she be of Christ and not obey? Jesus himself did not come to do his own will/desire, but to do the will/desire of his Father who is in heaven. Jesus put himself under submission to God his Father even till death upon the cross. As Jesus said many times, not my will, but thy will be done. This is how a man is to be with Christ, this is how a woman is to be with her man, and this is how children ought to be with parents; just Christ submits himself unto God his Father. This is similar to how a man/husband is commanded to love his woman/wife, just as Christ loves the Church and sacrifices his life for her. A man might initially love his wife but over time he will see her flaws and he can become resentful, then no longer give his life to feed, teach, clothe, and protect her. The Bible is clear such a man is worse than an infidel (an unbeliever). Marriage is of the flesh. Yes, the flesh! Two become one flesh. It is to produce children who will be taught the ways of God through Christ. It is to protect both the man and woman from falling into sexual immorality (fornication). Cause when "single" people start to burn they will have a hard time avoiding sexually immoral acts. Marriage is the God-given solution to that problem.

This entire discussion is based off of the notion that men and women have to be together. That is absolutely not the case. Yes, it is true that we often desire companionship, and in a biblical mindset, that companionship is a man with a woman. But it is not required that men and women get together. You can live a life of fullness without companionship with the opposite sex.

Instead of making a huge list of reasons and excuses why you don't respect men, maybe you should search the Bible for the word humility. Humility isn't easy for anybody, but it's important to strive for it and cultivate it. Hey hey hey Alice! Let me tell you the biggest secret about men and their deepest desire and why men and women seemingly are impossibly incompatible. Men truly desire to be loved for who they are even (they need it precisely when they are weak flawed and vulnerable) just like everybody else. On the other hand women feels like men are compatible for the act of loving kindness and companionship under the condition that they are attractive (as you say command respect). You see the problem here? Men all over the world and across generations try to be first and foremost attractive and respectable so that they may have the chance of being worthy of love. It feels backward. This is absurd when you know that the greatest act of love is a perfect God dying for a hopeless creation in great hope that they become better humans.
I know this may seem absurd, but desiring to be attracted to people IS PRECISELY how you will not love someone. Attraction can start a relationship (the person may fit into your fantasy for awhile), but to LOVE and truly love is to choose to be there for them and desiring NOT THEM but WHAT IS GOOD for them (and sometimes this is just as you say involves kicking them off their ass). This is beyond romance but also in all fellowship.

Modern marriages can't work anymore. Women desire the guys that don't chase them, a guy marrying a woman is the ultimate sign that he does the exact opposite. Not all but almost any woman will despise her husband for giving her a perfect stable life. I have tried and failed at marriage, four times, because I tried on my own power and talents instead of seeking His will and leadership in this area of my life. Even though I understood it was my responsibility to be the leader of the household, I would at times suppress my instincts for proper decisions in order to avoid conflict to continue a relationship. As you well know, this approach was doomed to failure as respect between my partner and I deteriorated, every time.
Being the eternal optimist, and not fully comprehending Yeshua’s instructions on remarriage at the time, I stubbornly kept trying to succeed. However, my poor choices and the modern feminist mindset kept me far from my relationship goals.

What you've said is reasonable and fairly well thought through. However marriage is not about self, it's about Christ and his Church. Marriage is the place where the self goes to die. Your respect for your husband should not be based on him. It is based on Jesus' order by Paul his Apostle. Paul commands a woman/wife to submit (willfully put oneself under the authority) herself to her man/husband as unto the Lord Jesus. Many women respected their husbands at the start, but after years of familiarity, and becoming comfortable with him, they started to see flaws and become resentful. This will lead to disrespectful attitudes and behavior; first small things, then into large matters. A Christian woman's respect for her husband is not based on self or how great he is, but on her faith/trust in Jesus Christ who she claims is her Lord. If her Lord tells her to submit, how can she be of Christ and not obey? Jesus himself did not come to do his own will/desire, but to do the will/desire of his Father who is in heaven. Jesus put himself under submission to God his Father even till death upon the cross. As Jesus said many times, not my will, but thy will be done. This is how a man is to be with Christ, this is how a woman is to be with her man, and this is how children ought to be with parents; just Christ submits himself unto God his Father.
This is similar to how a man/husband is commanded to love his woman/wife, just as Christ loves the Church and sacrifices his life for her. A man might initially love his wife but over time he will see her flaws and he can become resentful, then no longer give his life to feed, teach, clothe, and protect her. The Bible is clear such a man is worse than an infidel (an unbeliever).
Marriage is of the flesh. Yes, the flesh! Two become one flesh. It is to produce children who will be taught the ways of God through Christ. It is to protect both the man and woman from falling into sexual immorality (fornication). Cause when "single" people start to burn they will have a hard time avoiding sexually immoral acts. Marriage is the God-given solution to that problem.
That was a great write up until the last paragraph. Marriage is not just a solution for a problem. It's a gift first and foremost. It is the first sacrament and precedes the fall. It represents Christ and His Church. It is our way of being involved in the creation of humans, more images of God. It is prescribed as a remedy for sexual immorality but that is not the reason it exists.
