Hi Rob & Gail. your vids are nothing if not thorough and informative but a nice sprinkling of humour too. Love your 'wise ways' really helpful and enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to your 2025 adventures. Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, Pleased you enjoyed the video 👍. A bit different this one and we had a laugh along the way 😂. After all that research and a lot of clips Gail and I are ready for putting our feet up and relaxing on our first jaunt of the year. Not long to wait now. Cheers and best wishes to you both, Rob & Gail 😀
Another fantastic , light hearted and informative video . Looking forward to another great year touring Thank you Rob & Gail 👍
Cheers very much Mathew 👍. It was nice to dust off the old toy cars from out the loft and I enjoyed having fun with this one. We’re off in the caravan soon, so watch this space 😀. Best regards, Rob & Gail 🙂
Hi Rob and Gail. Brilliant tutorial as always buddy. Been towing since the 80s (god I'm old) you wouldn't believe how I started off. Now I pull a two berth with a CRV. With all the safety devices, how different from years ago. ATC is one of the best bit of technology invented, been into a speed wobble not funny. As an ex. HGV driver seen some horrific accidents due to snaking Love all the technology on your car, bro has just bought a Audi and he loves it. Don't know how much more we are going to pay with these new car tax price rise.😢 Fantastic vlog Rob, love to Gail and Su says Hi. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....
Hi there Pete and Su and thanks for your great compliment. 👍 Nice to hear you and Su tow in safety ✅. I guess back in the 80’s caravans were basic and cars didn’t have safety features like today. We’ve only seen the one unfortunate jackknifed caravan however, we have seen a few wobbly ones probably down to uneven loading. Your bro has good taste 😁. I like my gadgets, gizmos and boy’s toys 😂 . I know what you mean about car tax rises from April. My cars not clean air compliant being over 13 year old ! They are trying to drive people away from combustion engines. I know my car is old but if it was new in April, the first year tax would be £3,300 😮. Gail says hello both. And we’re both back on site soon. Take care and best wishes, Rob & Gail 😀
A good point about the vin plate not showing any weights, alot of imported cars do not show a weight for towing, not sure how this would effect insurance claims if required. Great vlog👍
Hi Graham, I think it’s best doing research beforehand like checking handbook and manufactures specifications. Gov.uk states ‘ If your VIN plate does not list a train weight, you should not use your vehicle for towing’. No doubt insurance companies will investigate after an accident. Towing with a vehicle that is not approved could invalidate an insurance claim. Thanks for watching 👍 and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
THE best video out there for numbers in towing and explaining it all. And we loved the humour. And your car is SO clean! Fabulous 😊
Hi Victoria, Thanks for your kind words and top score. Makes it all worthwhile 👍 . A light hearted video amidst all the calculations and a humdinger of a blooper to finish it off 😂. Glad you appreciated it all. Thanks for praising my car too. Kind regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Rob, really good video, you explained things really well and you even smiled a few times and made some jokes which made me laugh. Loved the use of the models. Looking forward to seeing more videos soon 👍😃
Hi Simon, Thanks very much for your positive comment 👍, I really enjoyed making this one. I more than smiled at the very end after my blooper 😂 , even Gail couldn’t stop laughing. It was good to dig my old toys out too. Thanks for watching and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Great information Rob thanks for posting
You’re welcome Ray 👍 . Pleased you liked the video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Great info Rob We pull with a Volvo xc60 automatic with factory fitted tow bar and I love it. I think most accidents are caused by excessive speed, the amount of times we have been overtaken on the motorway while doing 60 is unbelievable, I always use the speed limiter set to 60 on motorway so I don’t get carried away.
Hello Clive, You have a good tow car there 👍, same as subscriber Sandra’s we featured in our Goodleigh Hill CL video. Agree with you there about excessive speed being the cause of most accidents. My car is a little old for a speed limiter, but I do use the cruise control set at 60. Thanks for watching and commenting. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
As ever Rob and Gail another faultless video. Looking forward to seeing what you two get up to in 2025. We’re ready to start our year shortly too. All the very best. Tony and Pam 🎉
Thanks for your compliment Tony and Pam 👍 . We are due to go away soon too. It’s an exciting time prepping for that first holiday of the year and we have several sites booked. Happy travels and thanks for watching, Best regards. Rob & Gail 😀
Love your garage! Well jel. Nicely explained video, my only comment is re the dash light to show towing indicators, the legal requirement is to be alerted if they’re NOT working, so some manufacturers have a light when they are, so you know when they’re not, others don’t but alert you if one of the caravans bulbs has failed (or even beep instead of dash light).
Pleased you like my dream garage David 👍 I rather taken with it too 😂. You’re absolutely right about the dash tell-tale light. It’s there to monitor the correct functioning of the indicators. No doubt it will be in the Road Vehicle Lighting Regs or ECE Regs 48. When I had my 1994 Ford Granada I purchased the Ford tow bar wiring. The kit included a replacement indicator relay and a wire that went from the new relay to the dormant trailer light behind the dashboard. Thanks for watching and commenting. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Now that was a fantastic explanation Rob 👍 thanks
Thanks very much Dave, pleased you were impressed 👍 . Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Great video Rob, But..... there is always a but, I don't think you mentioned the vehicles max. Towing capacity it may be lower than the 85%. The point about Skodas being not eligible to tow if not factory fitted with a towbar.
Ah yes David, good point 👍 and you’re absolutely correct I did forget to include this info. I will mention this in our next holiday video. As for the Skoda brochure, maybe I should have read the next sentence under the one I read out, as it says ‘as such it may not be possible to retrospectively fit a tow bar if the car is not fitted with tow bar preparation at factory’ . Tow bar preparation is mentioned as a separate item in their options list next to the factory fit folding tow bar. Cheers for watching. best regards, Rob & Gail 😀.
Brilliant video Rob and very informative 👍
Good morning Shaun and Sally, Pleased you enjoyed this video. Hope your new tow car is as good as the Q7 👍. Take care and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Hello Rob & Gail really helpful information especially for us new to towing, thank you. Picked up our caravan on Monday, all went well stayed away for a couple of nights to get the feel of things and loved it, and lots to learn. Looking forward to watching your 2025 adventures. Safe travels 😊
Hello Morag, Great to hear your wonderful news, we’ve been waiting for this 👍. You’ve had Gail and I reminiscing over our first trip away and how much we enjoyed it too. A learning weekend we called it, at a site close to the dealership in case we needed them 😂 . It’s lovely to be able to say safe travels to you too. Pleased you found this video helpful and we will be back on site soon. Take care, Rob & Gail 😀
@robswiseways5697 ❤️
Nice to see someone go through all the problems that can occur, and also love the 3 measurement descriptions total coverage alot just use mm which is a pain.
Hi Paul, thanks very much for your compliment 👍. Being in civil engineering I only use metres and mm. This annoys Gail too 😂. But yes sometimes it’s best quoting them all. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Rob 👍
Brilliant, however I would have thought the big Audi would have been to tow a lot more..
Hi Gordon, Pleased you enjoyed the video and thanks for your comment 👍. According to the spec, my Audi can tow 2100kg on a 8% gradient. But this is over 100% of the cars kerbweight. The 1662kg I quoted is the recommended 85% of the kerbweight. It’s great to be able to tow at just 66% though. Thanks for watching and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Wow Rob, after around 40 years caravanning I have never heard anyone explain towing weights so well . Absolutely excellent. I'd love to know what your profession is .. I'm guessing a teacher or something of a technical nature? Also my husband has serious garage envy ! How wonderful to have your caravan in your garage and a beautiful immaculate garage at that , and with hot drinks on tap. Wonderful for Gail to be able to clean and load the caravan in comfort too x
Many thanks for your top marks for my tutoring 👍. I’m no teacher Vicki but my job in civil engineering has taught me a thing or two. Pleased to hear you are impressed with my dream garage. We very often sit by the caravan with a coffee ☕️ (or Kit Kat hot chocolate 😂). And in the summer we eat our tea by the caravan ! Yes it’s very convenient having the caravan in the garage and we don’t have to winterise it. Gail’s in and out all the time changing clothing in the wardrobe and adding other bits in preparation for the next holiday. Thanks very much for watching and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
@ you really do have the dream garage x
Excellent video Robb of just about every aspect of choosing a tow car. I changed up from a petrol 2L RAV4 to a VW 3L Touareg V6 pulling my 1490 MTPLM Sterling and the improvement was unbelievable. Great torque and 140kg noseweight limit plus it had a Westphalia factory tow bar. All in all a fantastic tow car that would pull any big twin axle 8 footer. All a bit academic now as I sold the caravan couple weeks ago as we just weren’t using it and paying storage etc. Now got to sell load of accessories AND the Touareg ! Will still watch your channel even tho we are no longer caravanners and thank you for all the help, tips and reviews we got in the years we were towing !! Cheers Robb Howard 👍🏻
Thanks for your compliment Howard 👍. The Touareg was an excellent tow car choice, shame you’re not keeping it as your everyday car. They always receive excellent reviews on UA-cam and the latest model is a great looking car. Sorry to hear you’ve given up touring but it’s great to know you will continue to follow our channel 👍. Take care and all the best, Rob & Gail 😀
Thanks Robb & Gail Only getting rid of the Touareg as we don’t need such a big car anymore and have another small car so will probably down size to a Golf or similar . Retired now and make good use of rail card ! Look forward to all your vlogs and tech tips, it doesn’t go unnoticed the amount of work you put into production Regards H 🚗 👍🏻
Thank you Howard, A lot of research, notes and 104 clips went into the making of this one. Not to mention all the retakes along the way 😂. Sounds like a reasonable size car to down size to Howard. Enjoy your retirement and travels and thanks for sticking by us 👍.
P.S. Regards to Sandra
Great info for experts and beginners alike. Looking forward to watching your 2025 adventures. If Mrs D chucks me out I’m moving into your garage, you’ve been warned👍
Hi there Chris, Cheers very much for the compliment 👍. We’re sure you would encounter serendipity in our garage 😂 . Our bags are almost packed and we are looking forward to jetting off in our caravan soon. We hope to discover many pleasing things to see and do that we had not been looking for during our forthcoming holiday 🙂. Regards to Mrs D, best wishes, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Rob & Gail if Carlsberg did towing info, top job 👍
Thanks for the best score in the world Colin 🍺 😂👍. Cheers, Rob & Gail
Hi Rob n Gail. Very good explanation of the Towing Rules. My Skoda's Factory Tow Bar is very good as includes all the Trailer Controls and software for towing the Caravan or my Trailer. I am get in the throws of rearranging my garage from a store room to a Proper workshop. Thanks Phil🙂👍
Hi there Phil, Thanks for your compliment 👍. It’s good to hear you have factory fit and your safety is covered. Sounds like you’ve set yourself a challenge for an interesting project there Phil. You’ll end up spending a lot of time in there like I do in the garage 😁. All they best from us both, Rob & Gail 😀
Evening Rob and Gail, Nice to see you back on our screens 😀. Great advice Rob, not only for newbies but a reminder to experienced caravanners of checks to make. We had an after market tow bar fitted but did get the specific wiring loom, well worth it. Looking forward to your first site vlog. Take care and travel safe 🙏. Paul and Joanne 👍
Thanks very much Paul and Joanne, Good to hear you have the specific wiring loom 👍. It really ought to be a legal requirement as it activates safety features. We’re really looking forward to going away and Gail is busy looking up things to do and places to visit. We’re ready for a rest too 😌 Best wishes to you both 👍 Rob & Gail 😀
@@robswiseways5697 👍💛
Hi Rob and Gail hope you're both well , think you covered it all there Rob with a bit if fun in between, Its surprising how many people cant get the correct hitch weight its easy to overload that front locker, lovely car Rob I like to see a well looked after motor all the best Glyn and Carol.. ps ill have a kit kat lol
Hi Glyn and Carol, we’re both fine thanks and excited to be prepping for our first trip away. I’ve still got a 6kg Calor lite but it’s running low. I know all to well a standard 6kg steel bottle has our nose weight panicking! Kit Kat coming up Glyn 😂. Thanks for watching 👍 and all the best, Rob & Gail 😀
Excellent! Love the garage
Thank you very much John, glad you enjoyed the video 👍. It’s my dream garage 🙂. Cheers for watching and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Sounds missing for first 1.23m
Hi Lily & Bruce, I’ve just played it on UA-cam and it’s ok 👍. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀
@robswiseways5697 Ah, it's only playing through the left channel in parts, so can only hear it through left headphone (or without headphones). I often only one earbud which is why the sound was missing for me
@@ArtJourneyUK We’ve noticed some early clips are in mono. Must have been a glitch with the microphone so apologies for that. Hope you enjoyed it though. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀
You should have walked up Snowdon. We’ve done it 3 times and it’s not too difficult tbh. Stayed on exactly the same pitch as you. Lovely site as are all the Morris leisure sites 👍🏼🏴
Hi Steve, we would have walked but the train journey sounded intriguing. I guess we experienced the best of both walking the final mile up then back down again. We’re with you with the Morris Leisure sites. Wish there were more of them. Someone else commented they stayed on our pitch too. Must be a good spot 😁. It was a brilliant holiday. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍, Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀
@ I’m only teasing about walking up. The train does look fab. We stayed on the Ludlow morris site at the start of January after flying to Edinburgh to pick our new Swift Kon tiki motorhome up. Fab site too. Happy travels both 👍🏼🥰
😂😂We stayed at Ludlow and Oxon Hall before UA-cam, both great sites, must return one day. We absolutely loved it at Stanmore Hall. The only ML we haven’t stayed at is Poston Mill and it is on our list of future sites to visit. You’ve got yourself a fabulous motorhome there Steve. A touch of class. Hope you have some great holidays and make lots of memories. 👍 Take care 😀😀
Hi we curretly have out heater out to replace the heating elements the problem we have at the moment is the person who did the service on he caravan removed the element cabels from the power supply does it matter what terminals each wire goes back into any help greatly appreciated
Hi Lewis, Don’t see the reason for disconnecting the cables. There will be a pair of terminals for each element. Might be worth watching a UA-cam video by Steve Watson. Type in UA-cam Truma combi element replacement and the 6min 25sec video should come up. You can see where he has taken the wires out of the terminals. The terminals look colour coded as in, light and dark for one element and same for the other. Hope this helps. Cheers Rob 👍
The vast majority of people will not be able to tackle this Rob.
Actually it’s s a fairly simple job. Mine looked a bit complicated because of where my master socket was in relation to the hub. I suppose anyone not confident in tackling this could ask someone who’s competent. Thanks for watching. Cheers Rob 👍
We love it there , and we love all of your videos you really are a lovely couple! One question, we've never seen you use an awning or sun canopy . Is it because you go walking so often ? Vicki & Gary x
Hi Vicki & Gary, Thank you so much for your kind words 👍 . It’s a really nice site and we had a great holiday there. We don’t own an awning or a sun canopy as we’ve never felt the need for one. Having a two berth we enjoy relaxing stretched out on our long benches on a caravan day in or after a busy day out 🙂. I’m working on a video now but we can’t wait for our next trip out in February. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
so in theory if you have your home wired up to a petrel powered generator it should power the WIFI
You’re right Shane. But I think most people would just sit out a power cut and wait for it to return. This video was basically about having battery back up for a corded phone plugged directly into the hub. That’s if you have a landline as part of your broadband package. Cheers Rob 👍
you forgot to do a WIFI speed test
You’re right Shane. However, WiFi did work as normal because the mobile phone was still on WiFi calling. Cheers Rob👍
great vlog fella my dear mum is getting uk sky fibre soon has a bt master socket near router and alarm connected to the landline.so if i got a bt engineer to do what youn are doing will be ok as she uses the landline when best to do after sky installation or before great video thank you from cape town sa
Hi Dixie, It’s likely that Openreach will install the fibre cable to the property and disconnect the master socket. If your mum has extension sockets, the extension wire will come out of the master socket as in my video. Once they disconnect the master socket, it’s probably worth asking if they can leave the master socket in place. This can then be used to plug the landline cable into from the router that will feed all other extension sockets. Hope this makes sense. Cheers Rob 👍
Sorry Whatwhyme channel your comment will not display. Guess it’s a glitch in UA-cam. Yes you’re right, we’ve had another comment telling us it’s pronounced crow land 😂. Thanks for watching. Cheers Rob & Gail 😀
What a complete and utter faff and a complete waste of time as everyones BT master socket is located differently and what you're showing is of NO use to me or anyone else,
Hi Nick, Yes you are correct about everyones master socket being in different places which I did mention. My situation is a little different but the end result is exactly the same and works perfectly. It took me approx two hours because of locations of phone socket and wiring but for most people who want to keep their landline and extension sockets, it would probably take half to one hour to make this very simple alteration. My video is basically demonstrating on how to keep your original phone sockets which is something BT does not tell you. They don’t even mention it on their regional digital voice events. Cheers Rob 👍
I just bought some of these, thanks for the video.
You’re very welcome Simon. Cheers Rob 👍
Maria Thomas - I’ve had a notification of your comment but it hasn’t displayed. We generally choose a perimeter pitch but this one backed onto the facilities, it didn’t feel we had much privacy. Otherwise a lovely site and a great holiday. Thanks for your comment and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Only just watched this video. Love the channel. Was very interesting watching you cook the lentil pasta meal just with the kettle, how long did you steam it for under the pasta plates, seems a great simple idea. I’m gluten free and find some things hard to manage. Any tips. Keep up the great work we have a Motorhome
Hello there Douglas. Great to hear you love our channel 👍. This is one of our favourite caravan meals and the flavour of the lentil pasta makes for a real change. Never actually timed the cooking but would say around 15 minutes. Have you watched our video titled ‘our favourite caravan meal’, another simple and easy, tasty, gluten free meal. We also eat fresh hot smoked salmon from Lidl. They come in a pack of two and microwave for one minute each. We have this with salad and potato salad, delicious. When holidaying on the coast we search for gluten free fish and chip shops. Happy travels in your motorhome for 2025. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
@ there’s a great fish and chip shop in Llandudno called barnacles
Thank you Douglas 👍
You have to think for a moment. This switchover from a very reliable 'copper' connection for the landline has become more costly, the battery requires plugging in to be kept charged up. For older houses with fewer power points this is a frustration. Past power cuts never interfered with the landline, now we have NO landline till the power is restored. Very good ISP for the ingenuity.
You’re absolutely right Quentin, but I guess we have to move with the times. One consolation if an area doesn’t suffer from power outages there wouldn’t really be a need for battery backup. Thanks for your comment. Cheers Rob 👍
Jack Kennedys president of the USA his sister known as Kicker was the Marquis of Harrington wife was killed in an air crash she is buried in the graveyard where you were. The president visited the grave by helicopter six months before he was assassinated at Dallas.
Sorry it was Kick Kennedy.
Hi Rob. Thanks for this very informative video. Can I just ask. I have the same boiler with low heating output (temperature very low),and very slow on heating water when just set on electric. Just wandering whether these are the same symptoms with your friends boiler before you replaced the elements. If so I will be using this video as a tutorial for the task ahead. Thanks again Jason
Hi Jason, Yes it was the same problem of water not heating as hot as it used to on electric alone. I’m pleased to report water is now heating up to full temperature within the time expected. I would point out if I was a caravan engineer, I would fabricate an heating element extraction tool for my toolbox as they were very awkward to get out. Someone did say they cut the old element in two which made getting them out a bit easier. First it’s probably best disconnecting the connecting wires from the elements and doing a test on them to see if they are dead or not before trying to extract them. Similar to what I did at the start of the video but yours will still be inside the combi. Hope my video helps and the job goes well. Cheers Rob 👍
@ Thanks that is much appreciated Rob. There was one other thing i didn’t mention. When the fan was set on either boost or high it would revert Bach to low after a short while. This was confusing but then thought would this be because there is not enough heat within the heat exchange so the fan intern is reduced in speed via a censor of some kind until there is the required temperature to run at higher speed. Its a shame the boiler has to be removed from the van to access the ends of the elements to do the test on them.
@@jasonhargreaves8506 @jasonhargreaves8506 Not sure about the fan speed as this is the only time I’ve used a combi. But I suspect you’re right about sensors controlling the fan speed. If there isn’t room to take the cover off then there maybe no alternative but to take out the combi. Going by what you have described, it does sound like one of the elements has failed, so it may not be abortive work. There are two UA-cam videos from David Hirst and Steve Watson that are worth watching before starting any work. Type in UA-cam search ‘changing Truma combi heating elements’. Both videos should come up. Cheers Rob
@ Thankyou Rob for getting back to me. You have been a great help.
Or you can get a ups for your broadband and solve another problem. Excellent video by the way . no fuss on point
Thank you for your compliment, much appreciated 👍. I did purchase a ups. I show it in my ‘Full Fibre Setup with Battery Back Up’ video I posted in October. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Rob 👍
Hi Rob can I ask you how did you get cassette lights to come on to see if they are working
Hi Kevin, I had a length of wire bent in the shape of a hook at the end and slowly lifted the float in the cassette through the toilet opening. There are three control panels and only the standard one doesn’t have the multi level waste indicator lights. The standard one only has a single red LED to indicate the cassette is full. Hope this helps. Cheers Rob 👍
Great video. We are planning a visit to Llanberis Touring Park and your video is very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you very much Janet 👍. This is our most viewed touring video. We are so happy it’s done so well as we we had such a brilliant time here. It’s just great to be able to share it and influence others to visit. Thank you for watching and happy touring for 2025. Rob & Gail 😀
Thanks Rob and Gail for the great reviews, myself and my wife are new to touring and found your videos very informative, I copied your drainage system 😊 and it works a treat, if I can recommend a lovely site to you it’s Beverley holiday park Paignton, if you book a super pitch the views are magnificent, look forward to seeing all your destinations in 2025, and keep up the great work 😊
Hi there Dean, That’s great news, we’re pleased our videos are proving helpful for you. We looked up Beverley and it’s really lovely. There is one thing preventing us from travelling too far at the moment and that is Gail spends a lot of time looking after her mum who’s 90. At the moment we don’t travel more than approx 3 hours away from home and for more than 5 nights. But thank you for the site recommendation, we have made a note. Hope you had a good Christmas and happy touring for 2025. Cheers 🥂 Rob & Gail 😀
@ thank you ☺️ All the best to you Gail and Gail’s mum
Merry Christmas
Thanks very much and a Merry Christmas to you too Kevin🎄
Hello there Rob and Gail. I have a couple of questions for both of you.... What are most useful gadgets or cooking utensils/vessels (i.e for weight saving) you have come across for your caravan? Gail, I am also gluten free, so I'm wondering what meals you're cooking while away in the caravan. I'm getting a bit fed up with pasta and rice dishes 😂 Keep the fantastic videos coming 🙂👍
Hi there Scott and thank you for your comment. Our most useful lightweight item is our Dry:Soon heated towel airer from Lakeland, although we realise not every washroom has space for one / or would need one. Another favourite gadget is a small plug in ioniser air purifier to neutralise the air after cooking salmon etc. Not exactly weight saving but very handy for cooking outdoors is the electric Lakeland Remoska. It’s a low wattage 400w, one temperature setting cooking pan. Gail sometimes cooks sausage and onions, bacon & egg and skinned and boned chicken thighs. She uses it all the time at home but doesn’t do an awful lot of cooking in the caravan. After a full day out exploring we enjoy throw together easy meals such as cold meats, cheese and pickles, salads as well as pasta and rice dishes 😂. Pleased you are enjoying our videos 👍. Have a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2025 🥂. Rob & Gail 😀
@robswiseways5697 thanks for that Rob and Gail. Have a very merry Christmas and a great new year 🙂🎄
How do you clean the combustion chamber and the exchanger from sot and dust?
Hi Martin, Never done this before. Apparently Truma do a Combi E heat exchanger element kit. This includes all gaskets / seals, screws, nuts and exchanger. Have a look at the website leisureplus.co.uk There is a download on the Truma combi element page. I’m not sure whether doing what you ask is actually required or is a DIY job. To do this you would need all those gaskets etc. Hope this helps. Cheers Rob 👍
@@robswiseways5697 I clean the intake fan every year like you did in this video. What I have noticed is a small layer of very hard to remove dust , some kind of ultra fine dust particles that collect over time on the bottom of the fan fins. After a couple of years use, my Combi stopped working (if I remember correctly it was constantly overheating itself) and I had the combustion chamber replaced (if I recall correctly, this was the part that was replaced, but maybe it could have been the exchanger, or both) and the mechanic said he saw a thin layer of hard dust covering the entire thing, just like what I see on the fan. If this was the reason we needed to do the very expensive replace in the first place, then this means the Combi will always fail perpetually like almost on a schedule. I have tried compressed air on the fan it doesn't do much against the hard thing layer of dust, which need to be brushed away. So no need to be blowing compressed air into the machine. Btw, when you were cleaning the fan, did you notice this kind of thin, hard layer of fine dust?
@@themartinandersson After cleaning the dust with the vacuum and brush I don’t recall seeing a hard layer of fine dust. The caravan is a 2019 model and the combi is still going good. I’m not an expert on these appliances but I cannot see this causing your combi to overheat. It’s a puzzling one. Only thing I can suggest is keep using it and see if any errors occur over time. Cheers, Rob 👍
Is that Gail getting flash with her artwork at the end? Looks like a nice site with plenty to do in the area. Have a lovely Christmas you two. Look forward to more of your travels next year ❤
That’s made Gail laugh over breakfast 😂 . Doodling yes, flashy no 😂 . We had a very good time at Burrs and especially enjoyed the market. Lots of sites to sift through still before we make our final selection for 2025. Hope you both have a lovely festive period too L & B and thank you for your support this year 👍. Rob & Gail 😀
Hello my friend 😊 amazing informative video 👍👍
Hello there and welcome. Thank you for watching and for your lovely compliment 👍 . We had a great time at Burrs Country Park. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
👍👍Enjoyed that! Best Xmas Wishes Rob & Gail - Do you ever do a bloopers reel? atb snack.
Hi Snack, pleased you enjoyed our final 2024 jaunt. Never done a bloopers reel 😂. If there are any clips worth saving we tend to slot them in mid roll or in our older videos have show them at the end. Thanks for watching 👍 and have a great Christmas and New Year, Rob & Gail 🥂
