- This CAMC site is situated in a pine plantation close to the reservoir. There is a visitor centre, water sports activities and wildlife centre. There are attractions a short drive away for example Matlock Bath, Middleton Top engine house and Ashbourne town. Plus walking and cycling tracks.

Good one sunbeams! You more or less followed in our footsteps of over 30 years ago, almost no water in the reservoir when we went! Listen, if you two keep making good videos like this, you do know that you will be held responsible if we accidentally buy a caravan! Keep them flowing!

Hi Rob, been watching a few of your videos over last few days and enjoy your indepth descriptions and "how to" ideas.
However, this video made me subscribe because it's the first site tour I've ever watched that gave the view from different pitches, which is something I always want to know! Thanks for your diligence 😊

Brilliant vlog from a lovely couple.
Looks a very nice site. Only thing puts us off are the trees overhanging. Had a nightmar.e a few years ago with sap and birds.
Love the peak district. Did the cable cars at Matlock Bath. Been there on my motorbike on the Sunday, heaving.

Can sympathise with you where sap and birds are concerned. At this time of year we got off light with just pine needles and cones on the gusty day.
Matlock Bath is certainly a magnet for bikers. We’ve visited many times but never done the cable cars.
We enjoyed our stay and making the video was fun too.

Hi Rob and Gail we love your videos I have to say we had a bad experience with one of the wardens at carsington water a few years ago My wife complained to the area manager of the site at the nec and told him of our experience At the moment we are at Cartref caravan park in Shrewsbury on a fully serviced pitch a lovely site

Hi Rob. I'm surpised you had poor EE coverage at Carsington. Their web site says it should be good there. Then again, it could have been the trees. I love your informative videos. Keep it up!

Hi Rob and Gail. We have stayed on both the CL and non CL pitches. We would recommend the CL pitches if one is available as these have stunning views.That said all the pitches are good and some have views of jodrell bank radio telescope that is only a few miles away. Hello there Dave & Helen, We guess you’ve been sunbathing in your own private garden courtesy of pitch 26 🌞, the best isn’t it. No signage required at Eye Kettleby with all those privacy hedges 👍. Don’t forget to visit Ye olde pork pie shop in Melton Mowbray whilst you’re there. Carsington club site is a good one, as is Waleswood caravan park, South Yorkshire which is only 12 miles from Chesterfield. All the best to you both, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Rob and Gail nice film we both enjoyed watching, I'm impressed with the inspection pit just the job that , that's the first CMC site we ever visited it must be well over thirty years ago and I still remember picking the pine needles out of the car vents for at least six months lol , we often run up to Ashbourn it's not that far from us we would of popped up to say hello if we had known you were going,

You should have a look at Croft Ends CL site at Appleby-in-Westmorland, fully serviced pitches & the view is outstanding👍

Hi there Paul and Joanne, We love a woodland setting and you’re right it is like Kendal. We never felt the 49mph gusts in the caravan at all so the tall trees did a good job of sheltering us. But the wind gifted us a few pine cones 😂.
Just counted my maps especially for you and I have 90 😁
It was a happy holiday, we always have a laugh and always have a grumble too 🤣. This vlogging can be stressful at times hence, being redeployed as camera crew 😂😂😂 .

Hi Rob, Planning for the reservoir started in the 1960s and construction started in 1979. In 1984, there was a partial collapse of the dam before it was filled. The dam was removed before the construction of a new dam began in 1989.

Enjoying very much your latest adventure at Carsington from a sunny CCC Braithwaite where all on site seem to be making a bee line for the facilities between us and next door pitch to the point that I may venture out after dark and lay a small minefield. Hi Alan, Good choice of caravan there 👍, we still love ours after 11 years. Yes indeed the battery does charge up when connected to the mains. Ours is stored at home and permanently connected to the mains. First battery lasted 8 years. Cheers and happy travels, Rob & Gail 😀

Would you consider buying a double step? We bought one a while back and are sorry we didn't get one years ago. Very comfortable to use.
Hello Tom, we’ve actually got a double step which we use whilst the caravan is in the garage and do find it a lot easier. However we find it more convenient to travel with the single lightweight step in the caravan . It’s more of a step up / drop down but we’re ok with that. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍. Hi there Phil & Juliet, All well here thanks and not long to go before our next holiday. CD still in car ready for play number 2 👍. Surprisingly those trees didn’t cause us much bother, probably with them being so tall. We’d definitely go back there. It’s very tempting to swap cars when you see one that you like 😁.
