Here on Geared Productions we provide railroad videos highlighting the historic value and beauty that world of trains has to offer. Be sure to check back monthly, as I try to produce one video per month or more. Make sure to take a look at my two series, A Blast from the Past. A Blast from the Past currently has only one installment and shows the beauty that the sound railroading and steam whistles can produce.

BTS Look @ Walkersville Southern Brakeman Training
During my junior year of high school in my Interactive Multimedia Production class, I was assigned a project to create a video for the local TV station. This project sparked an idea to revamp Geared Productions, which would include the more vlog like content, rather than the no narration content, which had been declining in views. The plan was to upload this project to Geared Productions, as a pitch to see if a new style could bring more viewers.
Over the summer, the file went missing, lost to cyberspace. However, while looking through Google Drive, I re-discovered the video! And as I planned before, if this video does well, Geared Productions may be getting that revamp! So like, comment and subscribe if that is something you want to see!
Sit back and enjoy as you watch me go through the 2018 annual volunteer training for brakeman at the Walkersville Southern Railroad!

"3-Train Meet at Tarrytown" (+Blood on Plow?)

On August 26th, 2018 me and a friend were heading up to Maine for vacation when our car broke down. This could't have been at a better place, with an MTA station right down the bottom of the hill in Tarrytown, New York. While the brakes on the car were being fixed, we ran down to the station to catch some trains... Look closely on Amtrak 715 plow to see what looks like the aftermath of a collisi...

Переглядів 2306 років тому
Every year, Tuckahoe Steam & Gas hosts their annual show featuring tons of antique equipment, and even a live steam group. This live steam group is the Aikenback Live Steamers. Every year I spend my rest time at the show here, watching the little steamers rush around the loop. This year, I was able to put my GoPro on one of the member's trains, who I had made good friends with. The train featur...

A good friend and I went out to work on the Walkersville Southern Railroad Museum's layout on May 20th, 2018. I had brought my GoPro and decided to put it on Flatcar #11 to test the handlebar mount, which never moved once! Next time, it'll be on the engine! I did get footage going over the Monocacy River Bridge, which was very high after a storm, however the audio cut out. The rest of the foota...

While in Harrisburg, PA I stumbled along the City Island Park Railroad, which operates a small trolley and a Crown locomotive in 24" or 2-foot gauge. The little railroad loops around the Harrisburg Senator's baseball stadium. The day I visited the trolley was operating.
24" Crown Locomotive "Janelle" at Hershey Park (Phone Video)

The 24" Crown Locomotive "Janelle" passes over the switch to the sheds. This is the portion of the line where the trains tend to speed up. "Janelle" shares the Dry Gulch Railroad at Hershey Park with another Crown, "Skooter." "Skooter" was built in 1984 and "Janelle" was built in 1990.

On May 9th 2017 we headed out to Shepherdstown, WV to catch the final run of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus train. We planned to get to the spot a few hours early to catch some regular Norfolk Southern trains. Those few hours ended up turning into six hours and we caught six trains including the circus train, not shown in this video. One man in town said that it was the most trai...

One Last Time... - 6 Locos w/ Virginian Heritage Haul the Last RBBX Circus Train

It's the end of an era. On May 9th 2017 we headed out to Shepherdstown, WV to catch the final run of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus train. This was the last run of the circus train, as a full train and with people on board. This was also the exact moment where Ringling leaves West Virginia for the last time as the Potomac River, the river the bridge crosses, is the border between...

Jimmy Baird's replica 1880's inspection cart was out and about on Walkersville Southern's opening day on May 6th, 2017. We managed to catch it returning from the north end of the line over the Monocacy River Bridge followed by Walkersville Southern's excursion train headed by 45-Tonner #45. It's rare to see 45 on the excursion train. Want to ride the Walkersville Southern Railroad? Visit their ...

(Phone Video) Virginia Rail Express @ L'Enfant
Переглядів 1367 років тому
While walking around the streets of our nation's capitol, Washington DC, two large metal poles on top a raised section of land caught my eye. It almost looked like something you would see rail-fanning the North East Corridor. After some investigating I found the beautifully designed L'Enfant Virginia Rail Express station on top the raised section of land, which was exactly what I thought it was...

"The Centreville Line" Freight on the Maryland & Delaware Railroad
That was an awesome video! I love short line videos like this
Sudlersville, Md.; hometown of baseball hall of famer Jimmy Foxx. Wonder how often he would've caught a train at the Sudlersville station as a young man crisscrossing Delmarva peninsula to play baseball.
Awesome!! 🎥
Is this locomotive two-speed transmission?
No, this is a Class B Climax which didn't have a "transmission," some of the Class A Climaxes had some form of two-speed though. I think there is a replica of a Class A somewhere out there but I'm not sure if it has that.
2:51 that whistle is so creepy
This rr still have alot of business?
17:07 My favorite Chime
Great moment !
Does anyone know which shay was responsible for all these incredible-sounding whistles?
#5.
Beautiful, what is it's towing capacity?
Is this currently running now?
Nice job please upload more videos
mmmmmmmm spackle
I love the litter in the foreground!
Baltimore, Baby!
I've been wondering if they've ever blown the Old Sawmill whistles because they still have them at Cass since they're in the museum in The Old Company store
A part s'amuser à quoi ça sert ?
Sweet
4:43 probably what T-1 5550 will sound like
Pony
this is the best video ever
is this still available?
Is this still available?
Do we think it's the 1950s? Well it's not it's 2017
I rode in #1702's cab in August 2017.
Awesome Video!
Here in the US, railroads used speeders like that to inspect the quality/condition of the rails up and down the line. The really cool ones are the small-ish, home-built steam speeders that one can take out on various abandoned rail lines (which we apparently have a lot of).
Was that the original train that was replaced by the mono rail?
Parece que tocan los tambores
2:01 what kind of locomotive is that odd thing
It's called a climax. It's an old school logging engine. Not very fast but has more torque than a bulldozer. Good for heavy loads, right turns and steep grades. Not good anything over 7 miles an hour.
My fav is that 3 chime that is heard after the banshee whistle, it sounds like either a southern, l&n, or sp&s or t&p 3 lower pitch Hancock 3 chime
12:45 I’m surprised that the traffic stopped and backed up a bit
when will amtrak stop being late. why can't it keep up with the other florida trains like SunRail and Tri Rail.
Awesome bro
Dónde es eso.
Idk why trains have blood on them do they like to kill people i've been on marc trains sence i was 1 years old now i am 8 now i see why they like killing people cause they don't pay their taxes!
:Hippos: We will hunt you down to ride us!
My favorite locomovite's on the north east corridor is muti layer hhp-8 acela and acs-64
This is going to sound like a really dumb question, especially considering the hundreds of times I've been to Cass on excursions..what is the "buzzing " sounds that Shay's make? Is it something with the boiler?(not referring to the rhythmic chuff of exhaust or the gearing)
The buzzing sound is the steam driven dynamo for powering the headlamps and interior cab lighting.
I could watch this all day
i'd just imagine if she was in an actual movie
interesting
A little background on this run. We departed Charleston with two CSX units. We were held up in Roanoke while they found some locomotives for our journey, and they again added units in Shenandoah. About a half an hour prior to crossing this bridge, several people were out to see the train pass holding signs saying " Thanks for the memories". I served as the final assistant trainmaster on the Blue Unit train and was on board while you filmed this. Thank you for posting. I always enjoy people who loved this train as much as I did.
I need one
What is the whistle at 3:24
I have no idea but it reminds of the Hogwarts express
Modified Crosby.
Crosby 6 inch chime
Would be interesting too hear them at night.
Would love to see a SRC 90/R&N 425 doubleheader in the future!!!!
Oh yeah
