Hi..Im just about to install a pair of TEC progressive fork springs..BUT wil change the fork oil too,,I recently bought a 2012 T100 with 1;120 miles on the clock and the oil has to be 12 years old...I fitted Progressive springs, and changed the oil on my 15 reg 1050 Tiger Sport..MASSIVE difference all round..in fact that good I have a progressive rear spring waiting to install on the rear monoshock..!
Firstly Keith, no man - and I mean NO man should be subjected to EastEnders.... it's simply beyond the pale!! I suppose I'm lucky really, having your/my/our magic tunnel just a mile from my back-door, so it's easy for me to pick my days, and fortunately those days do come around from time to time, and if conditions are a bit too iffy, at least I have a rig with three wheels on it. Spring is indeed coming though, so other than investing in a winter hack, you'll just have to sit it out matey. At least the nights are drawing out - just think of it that way. 😎
Hi Martin, I hope you are well. I'm afraid I've been hibernating a bit but I cant disagree with your wise words. I think you will probably agree that as you get older the time goes all too quickly and I really shouldn't be wishing my life away but spring is just around the corner. I have bought myself a little caravan and I can see that if I start to get out and about in that for extended periods next year my motorcycle You Tubing will have to take a back seat. (but never say never!) I wish you all the very best Mate. Good to hear from you. Happy New Year Ride safe.
Nice video but I have a problem understanding you with your accent.
Sorry about that. Ride safe buddy👍
@@shottostravels No worries- keep the videos coming just bought my T120 a few weeks ago and love it!

Long time since videos, we’ve had SOME decent weather at times
Hi, Yes, I've been hibernating. And you are not wrong. Ride safe bud👍
W800 for me but T100 would do!
Thanks for commenting. Fair enough.👍
Hi Keith, I am cold virtually all of the time - even in the summer - so I understand how difficult it can be to summon the motivation to ride when the temperature is not too far above freezing, but I promise you that if you get the heated gear and take a ride in the winter, you'll feel like a million bucks when you get home. I mean, that's what people tell me, anyway. Hey, I thought you were going to spend the winter driving around in a VW camper van with a chemical toilet and a 2 burner propane stove! Did the Missus hatchet your plans? Thank you for the video!
Merry Christmas Keith, good to see you back! I've been watching videos to get through the winter with my sanity in tact.🙂 A couple more months to go here😒
Hi Mate , I'm not really back, I'm still in hibernating! Good to hear from you. If you haven't already, have a look at "Itchy Boots" on you tube. That'll keep you busy for a while. Happy New Year bud👍
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year back at you, Keith!🎄🍻 There is always heated gear as an option.
Hi Mate, good to see you're still here, how's it going. I went out today in the car and there were quite a lot of bikes out but I'm a wimp, it's just all too much hassle for me. Ride safe 👍
@shottostravels I'm still here waiting for you to get your act together and start posting videos again. 😂 I hear you, though, about it being too cold. Sometimes, it just sucks the fun out riding. It's been snowing here, so the roads are all treated with brine and salt, so I have to wait for rain to wash it away. That crap creates rust in seconds. My bikes have been parked for 3 weeks!
Happy Boxing Day Keith…..Spring isn’t too far away, though there are some delightful days riding to be had between now and then. We just have to be not too worried about getting the bike all mucked up 😳🫣🤣. All the best.
And a Happy New Year Ian! Iv been hibernating a bit and I don't disagree with anything you've said. I need to give myself a kick up the backside. Ride safe bud👍
Morning Keith. Its Boxing Day and I'm just about to put all my clothes on, done the heated gloves, and head over to Buxton for a coffee ...... dont let the chilly weather put you off fella. Lifes too short! Have a great new year - ride safe mate.
Happy New Year to you too. Enjoy your ride out, I'm afraid I'm too much of a wimp to go out, even though it's not that cold really. I think I need to re-evaluate because we do get some reasonable days, I need to stop being so precious about my bike. Ride safe bud👍

Ayup Tiger, I know it does. I always go a bit down this time of year, it's pretty normal for me👍
I agree with everything you've said Shotto. The quality has improved but not nearly enough in my opinion. I bought a brand new bronze chrome classic 350 similar to yours. I've had a variety of issues so far. I've only had it for just over a month and covered only 200 miles. The first thing I noticed was corrosion on the spokes and nipples. The spokes are cheap quality chrome plated galvanised steel which doesn't help. The bike has only been used on dry roads (no road salt) and hasn't seen any rain. It's only happening on the rear as the front wheel looks ok. I'll be interested to hear if your spokes are corroding yet? I've had similar problems removing the rear seat pad. Those hex bolts are very tight so I left them and removed the whole thing as one unit. I have a slight blemish where the chrome hasn't taken properly on the rear mudguard as well. It's not as bad as yours though. You had better keep an eye on it because rust or corrosion isn't covered by the warranty. The chrome plating seems to be very thin in places and scratches easily. I was carefully polishing the petrol cap and was surprised to find I'd scratched the surface. Don't use Solvol Autosol or you'll damage the surface. Perhaps it may be better not using any type of chrome cleaner at all. I can't think what the chrome work will look like over time. I'm not sure whether this was caused by the dealer or during manufacture but I found the right hand mirror had been so over tightened that it had stripped the thread in the mounting bracket. The whole brake cylinder and lever assembly will have to replaced as you can't just buy the top mounting bracket (which is separate). The speedo and LCD display have started to mist up with condensation already. This is a common problem unfortunately. The bike is kept in a dry garage by the way. All in all I'm pretty disappointed so far. This is the first RE I've owned but could well be the last. Good luck with any warranty claims because I don't think it'll be worth jack sh*t. Thanks for sharing the video :)
Hi Mike, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I kept my classic for about 4 months and then traded it in for a T100 Bonneville. To be honest I was pretty happy with it, I just needed/wanted a bit more power. The dealer replaced my rear mudguard and just before I sold it the speedometer packed in,( common issue apparently) I thought this would give me an issue as I did the first service myself and thought that I may have invalidated my warranty. This proved not to be the case, the dealer did supply me with a new speedo( off the shelf) but I had to fit it myself. A 10 minute job. I am sorry to hear that as an overall package you are disappointed, it's not the way it's supposed to be. Me, I'd have another one tomorrow, the issues I had were dealt with and I loved it. Ride safe Mate, the running in procedures a pain but work through the issues ( it maybe part of the ownership experience) and I think it'll grow on you. There are many happy owners about. Ride safe Mate👍
I have a 2021 model. There are a a few cosmetic things that I noticed that are different. You have a painted front fender, mine is black. Your fender looks longer also. My engine casing is all black, yours is silver. I have brushed aluminium exhausted, you have all chrome. The dials “font” is different on yours than mine. Then of course the black wheel rims (not spokes) on mine vs yours.
It's because it's a " special edition", truth is in some respects I prefer the look of the standard bike, I would of sooner had a standard tank with the eyebrows badge but it is what it is. Great bike though, whatever the "details" Ride safe buddy
Lovely bike ,can't fault it for what it is.
hi, nice review. thank you. nice bike, I really love it. I just bought one Triumph t100, 2016 in US auction. Can't wait to get it, in Minsk, Belarus. drive safe! 😊
You are going to love it. Ride safe buddy👍
I laughed when you asked if people name their bikes. I never name any of my vehicles. That got me thinking though. I gave my cat a name she will not come when I call her. If a cat gets a name then why not a motorcycle? It won't come when I call it either.
Hope to see more content soon!
Hi Chris, that's very kind, unfortunately I'm a bit of a fair weather rider so it's in the garage now, sorned and safely under its rug. Roll on springtime, or won't be long.👍 Ride safe bud.
Gorgeous bike and super video - new sub.
Can't go wrong with Pachelbel😎
Whereabouts is the ford?
My thought are as a pensioner is use it when I can an there’s no knowing how many riding years left
Nearly bought a Classic 350 18 months ago. But the crazy low running in speeds and the frequent service intervals put me off. I still love it though! But out this morning on Shropshire's muddy country lanes on my CL500, I loved it more! Take care and ride safe.
I thought about a sump guard, but then I wondered... Stuff will get behind it and build up - how do you clean back there?
Just get one, you won't regret it. Honestly. Nothing will get behind it, without it all the crap gets thrown on your exhaust and all over your engine. Ride safe 👍
I'm glad to see you're still making videos, Keith. You have a talent for it, and that shouldn't be wasted. Thank you for the video! FG Rides in Pennsylvania, USA
That's very kind Mate, I'm not too sure how accurate it is but it's a kind sentiment non the less. Good to hear from you. Ride Safe bud 👍
Sounds like you have the same plan I do for winterizing, I will say as an old stone mason, that concrete garages will cause condensation, Ventilation is key to reduce and prevent this, I use a solar powered fan in the cupola or gable vent to keep air circulating tends to help. A small electric fan can help as well. I do start mine at least every couple weeks, I'll take them out, if there is no salt on the roads. Good to see you back Keith!
Thanks Bud and for all the advice, I clearly need to sort my ventilation too. I am a bit surprised that they salt the roads in your neck of the woods too. I Dont know why I should be surprised. I don't think we get the winters here like we used to when I was a boy, just an odd day of snow and a lot of grey skies and sometimes wet spells. Good to hear from you, be good Mate.👍 Oh, can. I just say, maybe I shouldn't but I am becoming a bit obsessed with the politics over there as your election is about to take place. I find it fascinating.🇺🇸
@@shottostravels No Problem on the politics, I am just ready for it to be over! I thank God we get the opportunity to vote, it is important! I just get tired of the mud slinging. I watch the debates and try to make informed decisions about what they truly believe in. We haven't gotten as much snow here in recent years, but they do seem to like the overtime putting salt on the roads :)
Great to have you back 👍😎
That's very kind. Ride safe bud👍
When I lived in the UK in the winter time my garage would cause condensation on my bikes, so I had a dehumidifier in there. Always greased the chrome parts etc. But if the roads weren't covered in salt I would use the bikes on good days during the winter and do here as well. When I was young back in the 60's and the bike was my only means of transport on one occasion having missed the works van I had to ride to Blandford (in Dorset) about 25 miles in frosty weather and was frozen stiff by the time I arrived on site. Having managed to get it into neutral I ended up coasting to a wall, stopping and leaning against it then warming up with my gloved hands on the exhaust pipes. The general foreman was laughing at me for getting up late and missing the van - didn't do it again in the winter. Anyway it's good to see you on video again.
Thanks for commenting Mate, good to hear from you. Ah, yes, the good old days, who hasn't warmed their hands on a hot exhaust? I really don't think, even here in the UK that we get the really cold winters and weeks of snow anymore, must be global warming? We get rain and floods now. Don't know what's better. Ride safe bud👍
I’m retired now, and I’ve not ridden through the winter since the mid-naughties, since I started riding posher bikes. I’ve got an Asgard security shed. It’s metal with a wooden floor. I don’t cover the bike but I give it all of the products before it goes away. I plug it into the Optimate as well. Never had any condensation or rust.
Thanks for commenting. I've never heard of one of those but sounds like you have it sussed. My problem is that on the odd occasional day that is sunny, blue skies even if it is a big on the cool side I can't resist a ride out. But there's no right or wrong. Ride safe Mate👍
Nice to see you back. I have my Himalayan for my winter riding as you can get some reasonable days in the winter months. I can choose what days I ride due to now being retired. To keep the Himalayan protected, I throughly wash it done and dry it off (with a pet dryer!) and spray Scottoiler FS125 over the bike avoiding the brakes. The chain gets a claen, adjustment and lubricated. The other bikes are taken off the road, cleaned, polished, tyres pumped up and ready for the battery tender to be used when required. I usually brim the fuel tank and only use E5 fuel. Every now and again I will start the bike and let it wasrm up. I do tend to spray GT85 over the engine to drive out any moisture. My garage doesn't tend to suffer from damp as badly as my own stand alone brick garage did.
Ayup Mate, thanks for commenting. All very fair, I need to investigate this Gt85 stuff, I'm a bit late to the party on that one but after a few recommendations and a quick Google search it seems daft not to give it a go. It's much cheaper than ACF 50 too. Great to hear from you, ride safe👍
@shottostravels it's worth looking at Aldi or Lidl as they sometimes have GT85 as part of a cycling promotion and much cheaper than anyone else!. GT85 was a recommendation by Stuart Fillingham a few years back and was part of his cleaning regime, both GT85 and FS125 are much easier to apply than ACF50 but don't "stick" on as hard. GT85 and FS125 wash off much more easily but need reapplying again after every wash down, the dirt comes off very easily.
Thanks Mate, all good stuff. I'll keep my eyes peeled when I'm in Aldi. Good advice Im sure. I'm with you on the occasional ride puts on sunny days just to keep your hand in. Be good👍
Very similar to you sir except the Harley has a belt ( no chain) you can actually buy an inflatable bubble to store your Harley in , too expensive for me.
Thanks for commenting, yes I've seen these bike bubbles but I can't help thinking it's just a step to far. But I am often wrong. Ride safe bud🤞
Good video, enjoyed that, food for thought on various matters😀👍
Thanks for commenting Mark. Ride safe 👍
@@shottostravels You too 🏍👍👍😀😀
Lovely to see you back Keith! 😊👍
Thank you thats very kind Ride safe Mate👍
For laying up, mine get a good wash and blow dry (bike driers are amazing game changers) then lather it in Motorcycle Protectant from MuckOff, pump the tyres up, ACF 50 on the brightwork, top the tank with E5 and add fuel stabiliser. Into the garage, plugged in to the Cetek battery minder and a nice stretchy cover over (Oxford Products, like lingerie for your bike) and that's it. I don't start the bike until it's coming out again next spring. Never bothered putting oil in the bores. It seems to work, for the three months we put them away for here in what's left of England. I put mine away at the first sign of salting on the roads. On nice days open the door for a bit, let some air circulate. They really can get soaking wet in there. It's just cold damp air getting in there, the bike is warmer than the air so it condenses out on your bike. Maybe give it a once over with the bike drier :-). Come springtime, another good wash and an oil and filter as a minimum - maybe a full service if it's time. I've tried getting a winter hack these last couple of years but old bikes are so cheap now that I ended up with a really nice old VFR750 that is far too nice to take out in the salt! Got an old XR400 now though, that should get me out over the winter and them old XRs laugh at an English winter.
Good advice. "Old xrs laugh at an English winter?" I wish I did. Truth is, we don't seem to get bad winters anymore do we and it helps that most councils are trying to save money so they have got very "stingy" with the salt. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mate, ride safe👍
I bought a couple of desk top fans run off usb a couple of winters ago. Realy cheap and they stop the tell tale signs like misting on the chrome etc. had no probs since and in abrick garage
Thanks for commenting. Great ( low cost) idea if condensation is an issue Many thanks 👍
Know what you mean about the cortinas. (Mk2). Plenty of ventilation in them😊
@@nigeldalrymple4099 I wish Id still got it now, I rekon it'd be worth a fortune.
Brilliant!
Thanks for commenting. Ride safe bud👍
Fortunately I have a dry ventilated garage so winter prep is minimal. Thorough clean and polish, then a dose of wax all over, just put it on, no buffing or polishing. Lift bike off ground, brim tank (no additives), put on tender (I leave it turned on for a week, then off, on etc). Cover with a light cotton sheet (not a waterproof bike cover or plastic). In the spring I just buff off the wax, do standard maintenance checks and ride. I think the key is ventilation and a through flow of air, if the air is static and moist and the metal on the bike is cold you will get condensation.
Thanks Mate, all very good advice I'm sure. Thank you for watching and for your input👍

Unless you really have the urge to buy a Versys [ ugly bike in my opinion ] Re - wet belly . wear a belt over your jacket or make sure the jacket is tight against your stomach . My jacket has a built in kidney belt which keeps the jacket tight , makes me look slim and turns me into a chick magnet 🤣. You could also get a pair of salopette type trousers with a bib . Tank bag can also block driving rain . An old bed sheet works well for a bike dust cover , make a "'tent' with it and don't let it touch the bike . Keeps the air flowing and open the garage doors on nice dry days .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mate. Believe me, the jacket is pretty tight on my belly. It is a bit academic as I dodge bad weather days whenever I can, I am these days the flag bearer for fair weather riders, I've had my fair share of soakings and can't really remember any fun ones. Be good 👍
Cracking ride Keith, good to see your still out and about on the bike, best thing for it even if it’s only once in a while over the winter, I know it’s a couple of hours cleaning it after but it’s better than sitting getting condensation for months under a cover 😮 even though I’ve a “winter bike” my main bike still gets an outing once in a while just to keep everything running smoothly and to burn off any condensation buildup inside the engine and exhaust, then a wash, dry and a liberal dose of GT85 again, all the best buddy 👍
Hi Mike, I agree, keep the wheels turning now and again can't do any harm. We don't seem to get the really bad winters anymore either, well, down here at least. And much of the time the councils can't afford the salt for the roads anyway. Would you recommend Gt85 then, I've never encountered it and I'm not entirely happy with Acf50, I think it's a bit of a pain to apply. Ride safe bud
In the80's I ran the 1st mobile repair business for Citroen 2cv (flat twin 602 cc air and oil cooled),especially with the last one,s made, that had crap Portugese made chassis they rotted in front of (the chassis that is ),9 times out of 10 they were kept in concrete / breezblock garages with 1 air brick as ventilation. It got so bad that if we went out to a new customer 1 of us would slide under the back and check the chassis.Personally I wouldn,t leave a car or a bike inside a garage built from concrete slabs (pre brabricated ),or a garage built with breeze blocks. You,d be better of keeping the bike in the house,or building a timber structure with masses of ventilation.
Thanks Nick, I am still a big fan of the 2 cv 6. I still fancy one even though they are fetching daft money nowadays. I had heard that the last few years, the Portuguese ones were not as good as the French built ones and you seem to confirm this Interesting too about your thoughts on the garage. Many thanks, ride safe bud👍
Hi Keith Good to see you back In reference to condensation in your garage if you fit an extractor fan it will cure it 👊👍
Hi Mate, thanks. Hadn't thought of that, I guess it's just a matter of keeping the air on the move then 👍 Ride safe bud👍
Ey up For the first four years of my working life starting back in 1968 I rode my bike to work every day all year round. It wasn’t till my 20th birthday when I passed my test that I could get inside a car with a heater on during the winter months, I still had a bike though 😊 I still ride all year round, albeit now for fun and pleasure Si thee
Ey up, like so many of us eh? I don't think many of us had the option of a car, let alone a new one. Ride safe bud. I hope you have a few good days this coming winter. The Ride safe👍
Enjoyed that Keith. I do pretty much the same with mine over winter but I cover em with old duvets so they're nice and snug 😁 Never had an issue with condensation.
I don't know why, Maybe the carpet was damp so as it evaporated it went up onto the bike and stuck to the cold shiny bits. Dunno, fancy seeing you today! Be good 👍
Sounds good to me Keith, I personally wouldn’t put the classic on carpet only because any damp will get trapped in it and If it warms up the moisture evaporates up under the bike, garage with a draught is good mate keeps the air moving, something I do is warm the bike up and then spray the down pipe with WD40 and it will mist up around the bike especially under the tank, most of my jackets do the same water pools in the front of your jacket gets past the flap the zip and then the baffle and into you undercackers 🙁 wouldn’t want to take a camping car down that lane bud 😬 good vid Houdini 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 one good thing living here no tax SORN required lol, later bud … Pete🇫🇷
No tax🤔 Don't get me started. Oh too late..... Our new car falls fowl of the Over 40k when new rule which means ( if you didn't know) we have to pay the normal road tax plus £400 each year until it is 6 years old. Ours is 4 and a half. So for the next 1 and half years then. Luckily I think I got a good deal but the tax situation, I just don't get it. 👍
I'm assuming that when you said you used a cover that you meant an outdoor bike cover. The problem with those is that they are designed to rain water out but that means they don't breath so condensation forms inside against the cold metal of the bike and it is pretty much trapped inside the cover.
Hi Mate, thanks for commenting. The cover is an indoor cover, I still can't work out why it was so wet. It didn't cause any damage but it was dripping wet.🤔
@@shottostravels Wow that's very interesting then. Did you ever try leaving the bike uncovered to see if it was better or worse? Sounds like it might have needed more ventilation.
Agreed, I think I stood it on a carpet, it may of been damp so when the water evaporated it rose as and stuck to the bike. Just a theory.
Hi, my bike used to get wet (condensation) in my shed so now I use a tube heater screwed to a length of decking board which sits between the wheels and then use bike cover.works a treat! Get one with a thermostat and it just comes on when weather is cold (I think its about 120 watts
@Triumph2004 Sounds like a plan to me, thanks for the suggestion. Ride safe Mate.👍
