iTrensharo ther are so many that say both yes and no to this. For me it wasn't a good lol to have a standalone hardware that's not your be able to have play series and not your own. That's crazy by itself but the endgame o guess is what is important and what it the endgame........who knows, smh lol Just gonna wait and see why this happened. @@PULSEMusicGroup let me break it down. NI called out Avid (Pro Tools) in their NAMM release and we see what they did with Akai. These 3 companies are all owned by private equity (vulture capital) companies. Private equity is a very small community and the owners likely run in the same circles and came to the conclusion less competition is better. What they are usually after is the usage data moreso than the money you pay for instruments. So, I would guess they don’t really care whether customers buy their products anymore as long as they can surveil them and use their usage data to train AI or sell to other companies. All my opinion.

Absolutely........the verdict has multiple feeings and I dont feel like NI won in this case but to get a full scope of what the idea is behind this move we would have to be in NI shark tank, lol Where does it leave Maschine........the same spot its been for a while. @@PULSEMusicGroup I had this exact convo with someone in the comment section on an MPC post. They said "since NI couldn't beat them, they joined with them." I had a problem with that, cause NI is far better as far as sounds go. Akai absolutely wins in this deal, cause NI gains NOTHING.... Oh... and they sell for CHEAPER on the Akai platform. $29

Well. NI wants to sell sounds. It looks like they don't care where they sell them or who to as long as they sell them. So putting their sounds on more platforms seems like a win if people keep buying their sounds. NI makes more money on high margin sound packs which they can repackage and resell than they probably do selling keyboards and Maschines. I wouldn't be surprised if we see them start releasing Ableton drum racks next.

After the Kontrol MK3 release and Maschine+ debacle, no one will buy any hardware from them imo. They are done. They might as well just give the keys to Akai.

I was gonna state that as well. The play series doesn’t have the step sequencer either so it’s not the full experience. Besides, I think that Akai may be helping NI improve the M+ as part of their partnership.

Ok I can see how you might say that smh lol But no, Im not sour.....matter of fact if you look at the channel, I am an AVID user and I am affiliated with NI. So Im not sour, just confused with the move and I tried to talk about that in the vid with those of us that have Keyboards and maschine and even though the functionality is different it still has a leg up no on the keyboard side. They can even get the Maschine MK3 and abve updated and Maschine 3 software was an upgrade bust for us. I take it you have an MPC3? Its a win for some and a loss for others because everyone will not feel lthe same. Appreciate the input and sharing the insight family! Blessings!

I know that this is in everyones minds right???!!! Combine NI Sounds and software with Akai Keyboard functionality. That will work for more Akai and "New" Users to that arena of the game. But for us who are S-Series Keyboards with MK3 maschines or Maschine + even (which by the way doesnt have play series compatibility on there OWN software) we feel like we have been robbeed of the very thing we ave been asking for YEARS. Love the channel fam. This is how you look at it. We maschine/MPC producers will never be satisfied. I have the maschine+ , MPC software and I use them both in Reason 13 with The Komplete Kontrol 49 and I love the environment. The Maschine + is NOT a DAW, it’s a groovebox. If I were native instruments I would do the same thing. Use my competition to try out stuff while I’m perfecting my next move. This merger changes the game forever. The future has begun.

I disagree. NI’s plug-ins are outdated and really overhyped. Akai Jura and it’s new suite they launched last year is wag better. We could already load NI expansions with Kitmaker, but now NI allowing access to Play Series feels like NI gave up. NI has not fulfilled any of its development roadmap really and had no announcement for its users today that gave them really anything. I think Akai will acquire NI soon.

@@PULSEMusicGroupI paid $800 for the Kontrol S61 MK3 and it was a brick for almost a year due to no midi control. NI finally released it so I use it now to control other things, but honestly the NI ecosystem is not enjoyable anymore. I moved to Akai during the whole wait period for the midi controls and never really went back I guess. On the other hand, I love my Live 2 and Force.

EXACTLY! Especially he keyboard users. The fact that you can just get an MPC3 and have "some" of the NI sounds makes it feel like what Sega Genesis did in the 90s. Now they make games for other systems. So thats how I see this seriously!

And see thats my thing right there. I have a Maschine MK3 and I use that ALL THE TIME. When I saw that the Maschine + couldn't even do it, I was confused. And now having this "foundation" for MPC3 really feels like a huge slap so to some I believe. But I will see what others say about there feelings on it. Still love them but just trying to figure out the real business move here and moving forward. I think the same way when it comes to that. I do the opposite of how you do it. I use Pro Toos to record and then Cubase Pro 13 to produce in. Now you can record very well on Cubase but I have just always recorded and mastered in PT. Just give me a different vibe of sound IMO. Well let me just say family. NI is one of my favs and its how I produce for sure. There sounds are awesome........BUT there are issues I have as well and I have grown to have a true love hate relationship with them, smh lol The customer service have always had issues seems like but they need to get on the ball with that. I am super new to native instruments first time good product good sounds horrible service and sometimes a lot of tweaking things for everything. to function properly. I’ve tried a couple of things and still do not have all of the thumbnail picture icons on the midi keyboard. I will be checking out more of your videos so I can learn more 💪🏽

If you have a MAC and are using Logic it has a keyboard feature to use and create music with midi.
