Louise your looking for answers in the wrong place rather than whats directly infront of you. I will fairly certainly garuntee you have excessive internal rotation and lack of circulation. Most will scoff or not understand, think about the yoga that makes people trip or the meditation positions. Even more generally positions and movements that allow you to feel different emotions. If you increase the external rotation and extension of the shoulder plus increase the capacity of you cardio or high intensity movements you can somewhat change your perception of the world around you n stop being the whippet n become the wolf lol. That is a brief summary and aspect to think of imo.

So I am very confused at 33:40 about "conquest being crazy money"...?... someone please explain.. lol... their individual resin models (38mm, not scaled down) are fantastic resin models at $24 ... and Para Bellum (out of Greece, not Brazil, lol) just put up starter boxes with 4-5 units of 12 infantry or 3 brutes or cavalry plus a hero for $160 US... which is a quite competetive... There are some $125-135 fancy large resin or plastic kits, but they are 8+" tall monsters on 100mm round bases... and yes, full disclosure, I think Conquest is a great game... but this is the 2nd podcast/vidcast that has mentioned the price of the game being an issue that I don't understand. Anyway, carry on with dried up dead worms and phoenix snails rising from the watery grave... lol.

The company that makes Conquest are Greek, last year they had their World Series finals on Chios in the Agean sea, just a bunch of wargamers under canopy's throwing nice right next to the beach with the company CEO on the BBQ making lunch. The really expensive Conquest models that Rob is talking about are the Artisan Series resin sculpts, they're ridiculously crisp and high detail sculpts of big monsters & characters, they're not your standard troops. Your normal regiments and troops are are about on parity with GW for price with some awesome deals for their started boxes which will typically get you between 800-1000 points of a 2K list. Some of their oldest sculpts look bad, but they switched from an American to a Polish sculpting company and everything they've been putting out since around 2021-2022ish have been absolute bangers. One thing to be aware of is that for 3D sculpting you usually want pressure sensitivity in the pen. Quite a lot of tablets don't have this! I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ last month, got round to looking at Nomad last week and was surprised to find it doesn't have S-Pen compatibility at all, and the third party options are dubious. Fortunately Nomad is free to try, but check the specs if you're buying a tablet specifically to sculpt. Louise: Second channel with stream highlights :P

So, here's my understanding of miniatures "scale" as a not-quite-fifty-year-old. First, it's not actually a scale because a scale is a ratio. 1:100 is a scale. 15mm is a size. (15mm is generally accepted as being the same as 1:100). That bit of pedantry out of the way, xx-millimitres refers to height to the eyes of a 6' person when standing erect. Measured to the eyes because it's hard to find the top of the head when the figure has a helmet or hat on, and because a World War 2 paratrooper in a beret has a lot less "hat height" than a Waterloo Grenadier in a Bearskin, so measuring to the top of the hat/helmet is unreliable. "25mm" is the old RAFM/West End Games/Ground Zero Games stuff. Early GW stuff was called "Heroic 25mm" because the exaggerated heads and hands made the figures slightly taller. Eventually companies like Reaper started making figures that were about the same height but less exaggerated and this became known as 28mm. GW has since had a fair amount of size creep, and the resulting figures are often called 32mm. *However* 32mm is also often used to refer to a "True Scale" figure - "True Scale" being a term for "actual realistic proportions." The Knight Models Batman figures are true scale, for example, as are the Warlord Doctor Who figures. (The Doctor Who ones are interesting. Because these are all sculpts of actual real people, you can get an actual scale by measuring the height of the miniature and comparing them to the height of the actor, and these figures work out at very, very close to 1:48 - so much so that I can put 1:48 Airfix soldiers next to the Doctor Who minis and they look perfect.) Then there are 35mm and 54mm. "Realistic" proportions and ""Heroic" proportions skew our perceptions a lot, though. Humans evaluate other humans mostly based on their heads, so a shorter figure with a large head looks "bigger" than it actually is. And of course none of this is an actual official standard, so every company's 28mm is just a little different. So it's also completely valid to just jettision everything beyond "6mm is really tine, 15mm is still small, 20mm is pretty short, 25-28mm is medium, 28-35 is big-medium, and more than 35mm is really big" and go with what you think looks okay Anyway, I agree - LOTR figures are too tall to be 25mm. They look right with 28mm figures from other companies. Since most of *those* are also based on actual people, one could probably work out that actual 1-to-whatever scale of them, but I've never bothered.

The LOTR scale is so confusing! They match Oathmark and Frostgrave miniatures almost perfectly, which are 28mm according to the manufacturer, but they are dwarfed by standard GW minis. It makes me a little batty, honestly.

Insert mandatory Canadian complaining about the British inability to pronounce "Newfoundland" correctly here. Fun fact, you can wear medieval armor on a plane. In the armored combat sport community. To save money on checked luggage. Some people will wear their armor. It's just awkward to get through TSA.
