Louise, I watched your video on getting your kids into painting. My 5 year old will help me base coat my tyranids. My now 18 year old who got me into the hobby has started playing again and has got 2 of his friends into 40k. It's so much fun to spend time hobbying with my sons. (Sorry for the multiple comments. I'm long-winded and really enjoyed the video.)

The Sharpe battle reports got me and my partner into watching the show, we just finished Sharpe's Waterloo the other day. Lovely work, Peach! PS. Chocolate silicone moulds are better than fidget poppers because they come in white, often have more wells and come in many different well sizes. I'm really happy with mine.
Children painting video was very nice. I‘ve been painting with my kids, unfortunately they mostly got into 40k and I wasn’t prepared to guide them to actually having fun painting 20 Spacemarines 😅 they want to paint like the boxart which is way out of reach obviously and then get frustrated. We did some whimsical stuff from kickstarters I backed (curious critters sthsth) but it’s not a priority and growing up, playing switch and going to school is already busy. The workshop thing and also Louise being a very sympathetic and energetic teacher helps for sure.
In terms of clocks I like them for competitive play, as long they don’t do what YuGiOh did for their rulings (weird rules meant that near the end of a close match stalling was encouraged if you had a slight lead)(this was many years ago so may have changed)
Dear Peachy, Louise and Rob: A comment was made in the video about your worst videos being your faves. For some perspective, in every field of art I have experienced (first or second hand) the feeling of “putting the most out only to get the least back” is standard. As a tattooer, I will spend minimal emotional investment on a little Pinterest piece and if I was to post it on insta or something it would do super well. However, Everytime I finish a backpiece that took the client and I more than a year of BS&Ts to finish… it gets 5 likes😂. Furthermore When the dudes from Blink182 brought their demo of “take of your pants and jacket” to the label, they were told “this album is not dumb enough. Where are the summer hits?” So Mark and Tom left the offices for a lunch break and wrote/recorded “the rock show” and “first date” respectively. Both within an hour and off the tops of their heads. When they arrived back at the label’s offices they tossed the tracks on the table as if to spite their evil overlords…. These are now two of their most popular songs. Okay. That’s enough anecdotes. You get the point. But I’ve always thought of tattooing as doing work (Pinterest tats) to facilitate the passion (back pieces etc.) so do the click bate. Cause it allows you to make the videos you love.
As a dad, who collects wargaming minis and watches UA-cam videos in their spare time, Louise's video was very helpful for me. I can't wait for my son to be old enough to give painting minis a go.
I don't always play on a clock but i will never play in the 1 local tournament that doesn't allow them. My son and i will have casual games that take 4-5hrs. In a tournament setting i want to be respectful of my opponents time. I've been and played against the player who's taken 30 minutes to move their hoard army. Clocks make you respect each other's time. I get that it is intimidating for new players. My biggest fear was cutting into my opponent's time. Also, in response to that tournament who's rules to avoid using chess clocks: it's a chess clock with more steps.
The music problem is why my mate over at Das Nerdspiel (who you should all check-out, by the way) composes all his own music for his videos. And the Peachy Palette (TM) sounds ace! You should get somebody to make a peach-shaped palette with all that - I'd buy one! And Rob isn't bald under that cap?!?!! That should have been the clickbait video title!

But if someone was loosing in an earlier game, couldn't they purposefully slow down get the table clocked and try and handicap their opponent? I think the best counter to someone saying "I should get more time because I have an army of 200+ goblins" is that you still need to be able to finish a game in the time period against a mirror match. And if you can finish the game with half the total time, then you don't need more time than someone with a different army.
I play board games most Friday nights and for a while there was one semi-regular attendee who was *really* bad at just getting on with the game. I get that we're playing games as a social activity - but if all we're going to do is talk, then let's just go sit on the couch and *talk*. I like talking, just sitting around and chatting is perfectly fine. If we're playing a game, *play* the game. But this one friend would basically do everything *but* take their turn. But of course social rules make it challenging to say to someone "hey, you're making this suck, please stop." So I'd just sit there being more and more annoyed because I couldn't figure out a non-confrontational way to raise the subject. Finally, one day I was like "*Dude.* We are all kibitzing because we're *waiting for you*. That means your obligation is to take your tune *right now* because it's *your turn* and then join in the conversation while *other people* take their turns." Fortunately, that worked. Since then I've just been more willing to say to people "hey, if you're going to play the game then focus on the game; if you don't want to do that, then just sit here and chat, yeah?" And things got a lot smoother. (Well, until the Covid lockdown hit and we all forgot how to people.)
