Been in Germany and speak the language now, my daughter is going on an exchange too, so really enjoy your perspectives. “How are you?” is just a way of aknowledging someone you deal with a bit more. It is not quite meaningless. People would normally say “good and you?” It also gives opportunity for some more small talk. It also gives opportunity for some minor complaint about the weather (yes we do sometimes talk about it, though the weather is normally less interesting to South Africans than it seems to be to many Europeans). It is an opportunity to so something in a language one does not normally speak well. For example in Johannesburg people (sensing my ethnicity) would often put this question to me in Afrikaans, and I myself would likewise often pose the question in Zulu or Sotho. (In those cases I might well talk about the weather just to say something). This relaxed talking is some of the things I missed when I was abroad. Btw also from Roodepoort. And Germans really know their thing when it comes to variety of bread. It is indeed quite embarassing in that context that will call that pre sliced mass produced thing bread.

I answered, No as it was stated in my application but she was going back and forth with me, I stood by my words and she later said something that I couldn't get so I asked her to COME AGAIN and she said IS FINE without saying anything again, she scanned my Documents and gave my receipt to me Please is that a RED FLAG?

In South Africa, we do have toastie bread, by Samko too. The one you showed has big premium slices. Toasties have more slices and they are thin to fit perfectly on a toaster.😂

😂 I have never been to Germany but I think they probably call it Toast because it is sliced and can fit perfectly on a toaster compared to the other different shapes I have seen in pictures. 😂 I am taking a wild guess here. Imagine a round sourdough bread, that doesn't fit nicely on a toaster even if you try to cut it. OMG!😂😂 I actually paused the video @08:51 to write this comment only to find out that Ricarda is going to explain exactly my thought.
