Just curious for any guinea owners out here. I had guineas for 25 years, been cleaned out by coons in 1 night , never seen a difference in how many ticks I personally got and agree they are great security systems. The oldest bird is now 11 years old, she still screams all day, eats normal, gets up to roost(indoor pole) but doesn't run just steady walk. Question is on this hen her crawl over the last 6 months has gotten lower to the point the feathers are gone and I can see everything she ate through her skin, what can I or should I do? I don't want to put her down but I know if she hits something sharp or just right there's going to be trouble.

Have you had any issues with ice dams forming? We also have a vaulted ceiling and I'm nervous to install the wood stove as someone warned us that a wood stove's heat can cause ice dams on vaulted ceilings due to there not being an attic/increased insulation...

I can’t stand the Japanese beetles on my rose bushes so one time I went to the store looking for this trap. I looked at it for a long time and finally walked out the store without getting one. I just can’t kill them.

Our guineas roost in some trees close to the house. Their biggest predator is owls. At one point I lost 1 guinea per night for a number of days until I found how to keep the owls away.

This was a very helpful video but definitely don't install flashing that way as it will leak. To properly install that type of flashing, you would need to remove some of the shingles above the chimney pipe and reset them over the top of the flashing. You also would need to be careful how it gets nailed in, if the nails are in the wrong spots, it could leak.

Sorry for your loss. What a lucky dog Samson was, and how lucky you were to have him. Heartbreaking that some people can just kill an animal with no remorse. It’s not possible that they couldn’t have seen or feel that their car had hit him, so that they could have at least stopped and talked to you. R.I.P., Samson. Your memory will be treasured. I have a rescue dog that seems to have parts of the same Great Pyrenees breed (although medium size), mixed with a bearded collie; she’s still a puppy now. I don’t live in a house with a yard, but I try to walk her out as often as possible, and also play with her indoors and challenge her often. Amazing companion, tons of energy and fun, but also affection galore. She is fully dedicated, protective, but only barks when something is really strange or problematic, so I love how intelligent she turns out to be every day, trainable and independent at the same time. I work with many children and young adults and she loves the attention from everyone. Grateful for finding your video - respect for what you’re doing, keep up the great job! I loved watching you all and your beautiful animals. Try to get the new puppy soon, so that your grief is also redirected positively onto a fluffy soul which can’t wait to get home and fill those big Samson “shoes”. ❤ Love from Romania

It may depend on where you live. My garden ( in southern Ontario Canada) had petunias and holes were eaten through the blooms, daily. I spent three hours a day through the entire season, and all my planters are full of those eggs. I’m slowly reclaiming the dirt and getting rid of the grubs.

Don’t buy a trap unless you have a huge wide open space. Otherwise you’re inviting them with the scent of JB sex pheromones. You need to treat the soil with something like BogBeGone, late in the summer and the following spring.

The pheromones in the traps attract male beetles. The females will follow. If the females that follow have been mated the you end up with lots of eggs in your yard/garden. I wouldn't use any pheromone products in my garden.

They’ve taken out most of our ash trees in my area of eastern canada. So now they’re destroying lots of the wild grape vines, killed off most of our roses before we could do anything about them, etc. etc…. Hate those dam things and all the other invasives brought in from global trade.
