Hey Jake
👋
Love your authenticity and honesty! So valuable!
Thanks doc 🙏🙏
Please keep at this! We need more content like yours in this world!
Thank you will! Much love 🙏
Let’s go!
You share a very valuable perspective, and it sounds like the thoughts of someone embracing their own individuality and having the appreciation and awareness of the value they have as a mind of their own. Good job!
@@vibingmyreality wow well put!
Such a good video. I am in a similar place... so therapeutic to hear someone that is in a similar boat. Also, you low-key look like Austin Butler. Haha.
@@jonhanlan thank you bro! On both fronts haha. Appreciate you connecting
Yep, comparison is thief of joy ! You Do You !!!!!
3:55 the sign is your age
@@kevin-jd5gf hahaha we live in the matrix
i am 36. still living in my family flat with my folks. feeling ashamed of this and other things like usings drugs (to feel a bit more energetic and happy) and stucking on the same convenient low pay job that doesnt move me in almost any way. trying from time to time to brake from this circle. have some hobbies like doing art and tatooo and try running and reading and being positive, but always come back to feeling empty and stuck. but not giving up..) i know there's so many ways and oportunities to be happy and i have a lot of priviligies that many dont have. but still i am so stupid and keep on wasting my life.
Thanks for sharing this bro. It's hard out there. Hang in there! Pick a direction and stick at it! All we can do is our best
@@jake_enslin thank you , Jake. it's cool to find you. will visit your page and try to learn some tricks. good luck
thanks! this one gave me some energy!
Your lacking time management. You have to keep striking, resting only little bit ❤😊
Agreed. You can't always rest haha. Gotta find ways to keep pushing forward
Thank you for sharing this with me, I’m 18 and I feel like I’ve had a small grasp of these concepts. I found the doing less aspect interesting, with regard to living a quality life. I seriously appreciate you sharing this at a time in my life where I am literally pressuring myself and sometimes I just gotta take some unnecessary stuff off my plate. Thank you bro. Keep livin’
Stoked it helped Brody! keep crushing it
Congrats on the hairline man
Haha I appreciate you bro
When i wake up i have a 2 task rule for the day. If i can do those two things and do them well i succeeded. I always leave space for ME whether thats video game, sketching or watching TV eith my spouse. At 37 i finally realized that im not gona change the world but i can make a difference in my own life. ❤
I love this man. Ya I've noticed that all my relationships are better when I take care of myself too
@@jake_enslin I have been afflicted by what you would call a savior complex. At 21 I enlisted in the Airforce. Afterwords i went into teaching. Although great experiences none of those things brought me joy in my personal life. And the lack of positive impact on society left me feeling used and disillusioned. So i had to understand that its not my responsibility to change the world BUT it is my redponsibility to make myself happy and help those i love. THAT is where i can make a difference. Its been an ongoing journey byt at 37 it feels like im finally understanding the cruel realities of life.
@@rikubear6549 I feel that. I went into teaching also. Nothing wrong with teaching, I appreciate the hell out of those who do it, but I personally made a lot of decisions early on in my life that didn't consider my basic needs at all.
@@jake_enslin same bro. Love that we are kindred spirits in this way. Shit you realize right?
This ! 34 here, same feels
I've honestly really enjoyed my 30s so far
@@jake_enslin no lie! The 30s is when everything falls into perspective, making the 20s such a blur .
At 28 I often chastise myself for 10 wasted years before finding a goal. This video relieves some of that self-loathing. Good luck on your journey, Jake. I hope you find what you're looking for.
Glad it helped dirt_dolphin! Good luck to you too
Sounds like someone who has settled on mediocrity. You've given up on being the best version of yourself. Rise and grind. Lock in. Just kidding. I'm 31 and this video resonated with me. I too think we should live our lives in a way that please us so long as it doesn't harm those around us. We aren't obligated to live a life that is expected of us.
You had me in the fist half, not gonna lie haha
This is the beauty of capitalism. It expands your ability to help others. You can present your uniqueness, and some will buy it and some won't. Do some take advantage of it? Of course. And they always will. But it also allows you to be expand into the community and lift others up, when you have that option. And many of you do. Crony capitalism is a curse of nepotism. But free market capitalism is about the little guy and is the source of innovation.
Appreciate you sharing this connection, it's awesome encouragement!
You put that into perspective so well
Thank you yukti!
what a great video man, im 24 and i found this hugely relieving
Happy to hear that brother!
I just found my purpose recently! Proverbs 3:6
hell yeah
Great video Jake! Thank you for sharing💪
Thanks infinite!
Very wise as always
Sometimes haha
Good thoughts, Jake. I remember it was my 30s when I felt like an actual adult. I know that sounds silly, but I had my teaching career established, a home, etc. so I felt grounded, for lack of a better word. One of my favorite quotes from Shakespeare is: "To thine own self be true". Yes, as a Christian, I'm always TRYING to think of others before me, but I'm also human. I won't do something that the general population says I should do just because they say I should do it. "What's right isn't always popular and what's popular isn't always right." Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
Grounded is a great word for where I'm at. There was so much "wandering" early on in my life. Though I'm sure there will be more wandering in the future, and that's ok too
Jealousy is not only unhelpful; it's toxic to self and relationships. We weren't created to envy other people.
I realize this may not at all be helpful, but being a man NOW is a lot harder than it was when I was 34 years old. We are living in society where it's becoming uncommon to hear MASCULINITY without "TOXIC" in front of it. The message being sent is this - if you're a man or act in a manly way, you are inherently bad. We are hearing that women have so much more challenges than men... that men have it easy and have no pressures, struggles, or hardships. All created by a society that wants to weaken its very own strength. Women provide blessings to a society; men provide blessings to a society. Just because they are DIFFERENT blessings don't make one type better than the other. It's just so silly to me. My unsolicited two cents. :)
Thanks for the thoughts Ted! I find it a very interesting topic for sure. I’ve noticed a lot of opinions about masculinity online but not a lot of healthy conversations about it. I’ve also noticed a lot of men around me feeling isolated - and not to discredit the female struggle by any means, but I can’t personally speak to that so I didn’t haha.
God bless you, young man. You're finding wisdom and it doesn't matter if you're 34 or 134. Good for you! When you spoke of comparison, one quote that has helped me is a quote by Theodore Roosevelt: "Comparison is the thief of joy." and I truly believe that. If we are constantly looking at what we don't have compared to the other guy, we will NEVER find the elusive joy. Another thing that has helped me is asking myself (VERY OFTEN DURING THE DAY) - "Do I have ANY control over that (be it a person's reaction, a news story, politics, etc.)?" If the answer is no (which it is more often than not), then I say, "Okay... then the chips will fall as they will." That has also helped me. I look forward to hearing more from you! :)
Thank you Ted! These are terrific words of wisdom. What a simple, but profound question to ask
I’ve really been getting into listening to these raw, uncut video from people just sharing their thoughts. I really like the raw, uncut, not flashy videos. They feel more welcoming, and less in my face. And I think everyone has a story and lesson to share. Thanks for sharing yours.
@@conversationswithyou5737 thank you brother!
@@jake_enslinyou’re welcome! Don’t stop. Keep sharing your story :)
Me too, I’d much rather real stuff than highly produced ‘entertainment’
I feel that too!
you are doing great 😊 keep it up!
Thank you! We all just gotta try our best!
I'm 27 and feel like i don't have a job that i care about and it is making my life feel not so nice sometimes. But i'm positive i will figure things out as time goes and it's great to hear you've gotten better
Wow ya i can relate to that. I’ve changed careers 3-4 times so far. We all run our own race. No rush to figure it all out by any means!
Bro is handsome
My tired eyes first thing in the morning and crackly voice haha
You deserve it, too. The systems they have going now are not healthy. Stay true and gracious, you got this🙌
Appreciate it! The same to you 🙏
Great points. Happiness is not the goal. Feeling all emotions intensely when they arise is the goal. That’s a rich life.
Ya I love that! Chasing perpetual happiness is just not possible. A rich life, that’s totally it. Thanks Thomas!
Love this, Jake. Appreciate you sharing.
Thanks Jared! Very kind of you
?
Real
Also here in Washington. Small marine service company. Appreciate the video :)
Thanks Riley! Hope ur well
There are hundreds of people like you who think they have the answer to starting a business and making money. This is just a Hustlers University clone. Stop being a cliche
Ya, there’s a lot of that out there rn. But this video doesn’t talk about any of that! It was all meant as encouragement to say that whatever path you choose you can get your needs met! I talk about how I went to school and (currently) work full time at a hospital and how valid that is. I’ll note this for future videos though.
I think there is far far more that have ideas but haven’t started! Fair play for anyone who starts and takes action!
100% Consistent actions starts the mind to believe. Hang on a minute I can get better at this!
Keep it up Jake. Experiencing the same thing you are experiencing now at 28. Life is too short to put everything on hold for your career.
Thanks doc! You're a real one.
This is amazing. I needed to see and hear this. I'm currently going through something where I feel like my back is against the wall so I needed a spring like this video to launch me to do something about that something. :)
Right on! Get after it! I absolutely think there’s enough money and opportunity in the world - we just gottta pick a direction and hone our skills.
I’m 300th sub
Bro thank you!!! I’m excited to put out more stuff, improve the quality of the work and support whoever needs it. I did not think I’d hit 300 in just a few months so thank you for this brother
