    Very well scripted and researched video! Although, I do think many missed a large point that Frank Herbert inserted into Dune. Dune, at it's core, is a critique on religion. Not a celebration. He shows how religion can be weaponized and how it can be used to manipulate people. Dune is exclusively against the three abrahamic religions. Dune shows a man-made prophet take advantage of an entire group of people through the vail of religion to rage a war on his behalf. Paul in this story is a metaphor for Jesus, Muhammad, and Moses. I see many people here taking Dune as propping up Islam which is completely missing the obvious point of the book.

    Great analysis. I kept waiting for someone to talk about the real world cases this was taken from. It really makes this first season even more ominous. It's a black pill but damn it's good.

    Something I find very interesting is that, in the real world, the people who actually perform "satanic rituals" are christians, like it was mentioned in the video, some people turn from "Jesus to Satan". People who don't believe in god or even self proclaimed satanists, who are completely different from devil worshipers, don't make sacrifices to something they don't believe in. Rust is not religious, people judge him for it, while the religious ones are the ones who commit atrocities, none of them as a rule, but as an inversion of expectations.

    Rap is way to broad to say that one person is the best at it. It’s like comparing a race car to a truck and asking which is the best car. Lupe is like lobster at the best restaurant while another great rapper might be like your favorite fast food item. The lobster is better but you still spend more on the fast food because you get it more often. But there are also people who like rap who hardly understand english so they arent even able to appreciate all the levels of Lupe’s lyrics.

    Really think the latest season of TD (might country) follows through with the themes just as well if not better than season 1; I think the finale for season 1 did too little for the ambitiousness that was established in all the episodes before it.

    I think when he drives over the kid’s bike, it was alluding to how Rust’s daughter was killed. She was on her bike in the driveway when a drunk driver hit her. There is a parallel there somehow, I’m just not fluent enough in media literacy to explore it.

    • @kazmaloop
      @kazmaloop 5 днів тому

      That's an interesting connection. It could be a parallel to Rust mentioning that his marriage couldn't survive the death of the child, like Marty's marriage couldn't survive his infidelity. That still ties into the larger narrative of society not withstanding the death of innocence too.

      @@kazmaloop when I watched this series for the first time, I had three daughters all under the age of 10. Needless to say, it unlocked new levels of terror and paranoia. Anyway, when I saw him drive over the bike I thought Jesus, a kid could have been riding that thing and he’d probably be too drunk to notice in time. Then I remembered that that’s exactly how Rust’s daughter died. That show was so otherworldly at times, talking about these deep philosophical ideas about nature and death, but then it would also feel so tangible. It made me think that there could be a cult like that in real life, and it’s right around the corner from where my kids go to school.

But pray to jesus or go for some lib bs optimistic propaganda and pretend things will get better. I can't listen to this no more, it's confused copaganda and liberal values wrapped up in a conservative framework. Trash all that and revolt against a system that only cares for itself. The connections you try to make are questionable and the reactions in the comments are insane. Dune is a warning to what will happen if you blindly follow some prophecy or religion. You will get your holy war and trillions will die. And what was it all for? So much completely pointless suffering just because of religion. Religions have their place, but as soon as they are used to radicalize and dehumanize they lose their place in a modern civilized world.

    Christianity is the New World Order religion that worships evil. Europeans are satan for spreading the cancer all over the world in 1492 starting the New World Order. Killmonger is the hero for his beliefs. Spare me the "Ethiopia Bible" stuff. Christianity was introduced to Ethiopia by a European. 🐑 think the New World Order is "coming soon" it's already here and been here for centuries. Columbus, Cesare Borgia, Pope Benedict the 6th, etc are the Antichrist. Pope Benedict's son was Cesare Borgia who is the image of Christ. Pope Benedict was friends with Columbus and payed for his journey to kill and molest millions (to sugar coat it. He also messed with little girls) 🐑 celebrate every week indoors worshipping some imaginary zesty European on a Sun 🌞 Day with his little 12 disciples just like the 12 zodiacs. Its all Sun symbolism and they fearmongered deceived and manipulated all the 🐑 worshipping the religion. The Sun is God/ there is no God. It's all make believe

      Also, "Slavery" is a sugar coated term. It was legit a Terroristic Holocaust. People were "enslaved" just because they weren't Christians and others weren't if they were already Christian. Why do you think Ethiopia just so happens to be the 1 continent that just so happens to never be allegedly colonized 🤔 what a gigantic coincidence huh. Although they've worshipped Christianity since way before 1492 unlike 99% of other African places who believed in Spirituality and the Sun/ knew Christianity and the story of Jesus is clearly bs
