    Great video sir.
As a martial artist who performs in front of drunk people and is recorded,i often wrestle with the idea of being a spectacle. I cannot control how my actions and words will be received and interpreted by those who watch me. I often think of the slaves forced to fight for the entertainment of their masters. Funny how not much has changed. And some day I just want to punch something. I think the movie “nope” tells us not to be consumed by the spectacle, and keep our gaze on those who we love, and who love us back.

Im SO glad you touched on the nickel that got OJ's dad. Seeing that for the first time had my head in my hands and my jaw on the floor. I love how you edit, keep it up!

The quality of the writing is great. The editing is decent. I think you should consider practicing the narration at 1.25-1.5x speed.
The cadence of the video is relaxed but is missing the snappiness you see in more modern video essays. Maybe this isn’t your end goal tho. Cant wait to see more of your content in the future :)

You know how things link up with your life as they appear before you, each at their own moment (serendipity I guess, something like that anyway) - the interplay is so lively it's making me yelp, just delicious. Besides that, once again just a wonderful essay. Thanks as always.

The genre he does or the style rather is called “Black Surrealism”. There are many movies like this and it’s a genre called simply surrealism, don’t trust Tyrone is one, Atlanta the tv show is also black surrealism.
If you like his movies, he didn’t invent these thought provoking movies, he’s just good at the genre. Check out other films. Black mirror is a tv show example.

I feel a little embarrassed I didn't catch any of this when I watched it and I'm the type to overthink all media, insisting it all has a deeper meaning. 😂
When I watched Nope my brain just shut off, and enjoyed.

Wait, are you equating protests against police brutality with the January 6 insurrection? This is like the, “both sides” are yelling so they’re both wrong.
I was one of the estimated 26 million people who participated in the protests of 2020. We weren’t out there because some old man on the TV told us to. We had and still have very material demands that led to millions of people getting their back rent paid, and a larger raised consciousness about the role of police and prisons in our country.
_Network_ and _Nope_ are brilliant movies. But please do not use them as useful warnings for a dumb, easily-persuaded public.
