Tips & Tricks for Pain/Sick Days With A Physical Disability
How are you doing? You do a great job with your walking.
I am 62 year old woman with CP. I am married 42 years, and i have 4 children. Everything you explained was very true. Advice to all: stretch and exercise as much as possible. And use any available walking implement that allows you to move. I dont pay any attention to what everyone thinks. Its independence im after. Fyi, my mom had know one to ask about cp because they were shunned. Today, let's let mom's of cp kids know we can do anything we set our minds to do.
Rip god bless your mom and you
Thanks for the video, I have CP too and shoes are really a headache for us lol! I would love to try Doc Martens too, for myself I wear Palladium but the ones that are from Asia, the base and front materials are strong that lasted me for months which is impressive, those I got from other regions seems to just lasted for around weeks. The shoe are wide enough that it doesn't hurt my bunion too much after walking a long time wham my feet start to swell. I do add my own orthopedic soles in them as they are not soft enough. I think they have slight heeled pairs too, pretty cool lifestyle boots.
I still get up like that when people are around. Should I accept help?
It’s up to you. I find it easier without help myself
Confidence is beautiful. Nothing can stop us.
An OT once gave me a thingy that made putting socks on a lot easier. Long story short, I lost it
Oh darn!
Better than me!! I once had handprints all over the walls of the house. 😞
I constantly have to wash fingerprints off my walls lol
Your positive attitude towards things is great. You picked up my spirit today from a bad day. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
🫡 and love your energy!
Great video.. 🙋♂️ no disrespect at all, just wanted to ask if you have foot drop on right foot?
Sure do
Same here 😆
🙋♂️ Do you use spasticity to enable you to do things?
Yes all the time. I got Botox a few years ago and felt so useless
Get it gurl… You’re doing great! I made a huge mistake when I agreed to a wheelchair. In time, I weakened myself and things got harder. Currently working on getting stronger. 🫡
Thank you for posting. Am dating someone new who has a similar presentation of cp and want to learn what I can so I can be a better partner without putting all the burden on them to teach me. Very appreciative. (They are teaching me a lot - it’s just that my lack of understanding is profound and we are mostly doing fun things with our time.)

Hello how are you doing
I'm so so sorry for your loss Blemi. My heart goes out to you. May God give you strength. He's not only holding your mother, He's also holding you in his arms too😢
Sorry for your loss. Praying for you at this difficult time.
I am so sorry for your loss
I have a question as a mom of a child with CP. I’m assuming you know about the surgery specifically by Dr. Parks in St. Louis, if you could go back to when you were a kid, knowing what you know now, would you have had it done?
Yes I would have! I looked into it as an adult but being Canadian going to the us it would be too expensive
Good for you, tell em
None for adult C.P. And you just cannot eat what want. 😮😢
Good job sweetheart, Thank you for sharing this with us. I do simply something very similar by hanging onto the wall as though the refrigerator handles.I have in my home. Thank you again.
Oh no 😟 I hope your okay? Why are you at the hospital? When I use my walker a lot of people stare at me the give me the weirdest looks all the time.
My mom is in battling a cancer diagnosis
@@LifeWithBlemi I'm so sorry prayers for you and your Mom

Yesterday. Same thing. One of the volunteers comes in. Boss yells at him to come meet me. He's older. Probably in 70s or 80s. Very much older. Sees my cane. This yours? Mhmm. Is it permanent? (I assume he meant the reason why I used it) ...yes... Oh. ...I have cerebral palsy.... I wonder what he'd have said about my walker. 🤦🏻♀️
Urg so frustrating!
Uncle Ted can help you with the pencil. Do you have the little white charger that goes into the end of the ipad and the pencil? It may be on the end of the pencil or in the box.
I love your shirt
Can you please do a socks try on haul and show us all the beautiful socks you have clean and dirty to?
nice move great💫👍
Boogey girl!
Ha! Got it from my mama!
I have cerebral palsy women are not excepting as men a lot harder for a man with cerebral palsy to find a woman at least it is in my case my dateing life is awful because a guy with no physical problems walk in and they go for him teust me it has happened toe soany times i lost count I'm in a single group and the women always go for the other guy or i get friend zoned.
He must be able to gi e you somethin 😂
Lmao.
44 year old here in Atl. I have cp on my right side. My balance suffers when I sit for a while. After a couple hours of sitting I’ll stand up and walk like I’m drunk for about 3 minutes. Swimming has helped me a lot. Not 10 minutes a day. 2 hours a day when I was a kid. If your kid has any level of cp get him or her swimming. The water will stimulate muscles they never knew they had and stimulate their nerves. Bedsores are still a thing for me because I don’t have a want to shift at night. I feel like I’m sleeping on a cloud so I have to set an alarm sometimes to tell myself to rotate. Good luck and hit the water! 😊
😂 You're a great video you go girl Great video you go girl
Thank you!! 😁
Can’t wait for a part 3!
lol If I can think of more!
😍😍😍
I like your comments !you are beautiful no matter what 、
Just like my mama❤
You have the best love. Never forget
The very best ❤️
U go gurl!! ✨
Thank you!!😊
Honestly, idk if you are disabled due to injury or just this is how your body developed, but you’re living your life. Nobody gets to judge.
Awe your beautiful, don't let anyone maje you think otherwise❤ We are all deserving of love, Ian learning that still myself!
Thank you! Everyone deserves love friend
She's so pretty❤
Thank you!❤️
When I get pins and needles, it will creep up from my foot up to part of my calves. So, I shake my foot to get the circulation going, or press on my foot a few times and it wakes it up.
I wish you were my step sister 😂 sorry 😅 I hope that made you laugh
Lmao🤣
@@LifeWithBlemi 🤣🤣🤣 Yo my older brother has cp and he has the best humour out of anyone i know so i figured youd probrably get a laugh if i didnt make it creepy 😂 Peace, your hair looks cool as too btw
@@adriandabarber3996totally made me chuckle. Gotta have a sense of humour right?
@@LifeWithBlemi humour is the master key to morale and with morale your unbeatable inside and out 🙌
The fact that i do this as an able bodied person, i need to lift
Lol
i don’t have cerebral palsy, but my leg nerves get pinched if i cross my legs. They go completely numb so i can’t feel the floor or move my feet. I have to get up the same way haha
Blemi, you're hanging in there. Even people without disabilities go through some form of mental issues. Being human is very hard. The days will be up and down, as long as you keep going forward. I try to keep myself occupied with different things so the days don't seem so drawn out. Just a small, small hobby can keep your mind busy (even when it only takes less than a half hour). It's hard, but I'm cheering for ya.
Thank you for the encouraging words
Awe, hopefully there's often someone around! Grab my hand young lady I'll help you up 🙂 Take care, have a good day!
lol it’s less embarrassing when no one sees when I fall
Awww Blemi I think you are a good dancer 💃 ❤
Thank you! It was fun!
