By trying to show a more positive approach to a common physical disability Cerebral Palsy. I want to let people know they are not alone in the struggles. To let parent's of newly diagnosed children to know there is hope beyond the initial diagnosis and that their children can go on to live full, productive and happy lives.

My issue comes from the way able-bodied people act. I understand they don't know how to act around us, but they could attempt to make conversation. They make me feel like I'm from another planet. When they do talk, it is because we're in their world. We didn't choose our disabilities.

If someone is talking to me in a manner that is not fitting. I always tell them to speak to me like an adult please. It usually puts them in their place pretty quickly!

@@LifeWithBlemi I've had experiences similar to that. When I was in school we had to come up with a list of vocabulary words. I used the word choleric, but since that word was new to me I spelled it wrong. The aide kept telling me that was not a word and I took my vocabulary book to school with me the next day and showed her. All she said was, "well, I don't understand why you're pointing that out to me."
