Pichi-pichi is a Filipino dessert made from grated cassava, brown sugar, water and lihya (lye water), topped with grated coconut or cheese. Pichi-pichi is steamed and become glutinous or chewy. Once it's cooked and cooled it is rolled in grated coconut or cheese.

Bilo-bilo comes from the word Bilog (round). Guinataan bilo-bilo translates into rice cooked balls in coconut milk mixed with plantain banana or saba, sweet potato, sugar, coconut milk, langka (jackfruit) and tapioca. This is known as coconut soup with other mixture of ingredients. Guinataan bilo-bilo/ halo-halo is great for snack (meryenda) and other occasional gatherings.

TUPIG (also called INTEMTEM OR KANGKANEN) originated from Northwestern Luzon, mainly in Pangasinan, Tarlac and Ilocos. It is made from grinded gultinous rice (galapong) or Glutinous flour, mixed with coconut milk, dark brown sugar (or muscovado) and young coconut (buko) strips. Tupig is wrapped in banana leaves in cylindrical form and cooked in charcoal grill. Tupig is great for snack or meryenda.

Pirurutong is a variety of glutinous flour that is dark in color. Kalamay pirurutong is a native sweet rice cake traditionally served during "Cuaresma" (Holy Week). This kalamay pirurutong is made from pirurutong or black sweet rice, Coconut milk, dark brown sugar with a latik topping (coconut curd).

The puto is steamed and is very fluffy. This dessert is a delectable treat.

I always use coconut milk in carton because it taste better and no can after taste. Please help me by letting me know how many cups of coconut milk in a can of coconut milk. Thank you so much! Lye water is used in a lot of cooking as long as you don’t use a lot.
