hello, i've just watch the tutorial for the inventory system but instead of pistol and rifle I have a sword and a war axe, but I don't know how to make attack with them, someone to help me ?
how would it be done with Bow IK? since left hand holds the bow with most animsets, is there a way to swap the hand socket to left hand but only for bow?

I can't connect the ID from the Break into a not equal (!=). I tried using the "text not exactly equal to" but it fails to proceed coming back with the error "The current value of the B pin is invalid: 'B' in action 'Not Equal Exactly (Text)' must have an input wired into it ("by ref" params expect a valid input to operate on.)

I have a question: since your project is based on the "default online subsystem," I should be able to create a dedicated server through Visual Studio, right? However, when I try to build it, I’m only getting Error 6.
My MetaHuman shirt seems to be clipping through the mesh but only on server. When viewing on client everything seems fine. Know any reason why this might be occurring?

In 4:15 does the function GetHandIK need to be in the retargeted character's blueprint or is there a way to get that body mesh from the Sandbox character?
Yes, since retargeted characters are child blueprints of the sandbox character, the sandbox character is not aware of its children. This means the meshes that exist on the retargeted characters are not accessible through the parent. What you could do is create a "Custom Mesh" variable and use that one, but in each retargeted character you will still need to define what that "Custom Mesh" is.
@@nativecoder I got it working this way but there's a weird issue. I was tweaking the socket's possition to better match the metahuman's skeleton and I found that in some positions the hand IK struggles a lot, it starts jumping between two points when you walk while aiming (the possition where it currently works fine is a little too close to the model). I'm doing this with the pistol and the problem doesn't exist with the default mannequin. Either way, thanks for the fix and your other tutorials, they've been of great help.

It doesn't seem to work fine with metahumans, the weapon moves at a different rate compared to the hands, resulting in clipping. With the included mannequin everything just works. I don't know exactly what's to blame, if anyone knows what it might be I'd really appretiate it.

after adding 8 different weapon to map variable, it gets bug. I doesnt show new added weapons anymore. If i try to change a weapon, it still shows the previous one (deleted one). Idk why "map" variable cant hold and present it correctly. Any1 have solution?
Okey i find the solution myself AGAIN LOL. The issue was about the Retargeted Character. My updates on Parent does not synce with the Child. I just found the data on child (on details) and make it "return" to original. Than whenever i check the parent, it start working again. Hope it helps to whom have the same issue.
Good morning , @Native coder Could you make a tutorial on the attack system? Ax, gun ... I try to implement an attack system, but my problem and that even if I block the mounting animations, only in the arms, at each attack that I give, the character stops a few seconds, which cuts my character's race. Even if I modify the root motion at each ttaque, otherwise the character does not even advance, but I can crouch or jumped. I created a game and I take out my weapons via an inventory by pressing the Hotbar key. I have to slide my animation attack mounting in the blueprint of each weapon.

why are two hand positions necessary? if the overlay poses have the hand in the correct position, shouldn't you just need one socket?
You could try just one that's also valid, but this way you can have control of the hand position on both animations cycles (Idle or Aiming).

You need to create a first person camera, unfortunately my videos are mostly focused on third person, but you can find some good videos on how to do that from other people.

For anyone who didn't follow the previous gun tutorials or has the following problems : - no mesh appearing in hand after pressing 1 - weird sliding movement after prressing 1 You need to go back into DT_Inventory and add an Actor BP for the item in Holdable Settings. And you need to set Collision Presets to No Collision.

Probably something to do with the animation flow you are applying, if you join our discord we will be able to help you better.
Rather than using a bool to blend poses, wouldn't it make more sense to use the Alpha on the FABRIK node? Link that to a curve in the animations (traversal ones should have alpha set to 0, the rest as needed).
The difference is that with blend bools you have more control over the blend types and the interpolation speeds. If you use alpha values the transitions would be instant by default, you would have to interpolate the alpha values manually which is too much work for the results we wanted.

Followed everything step by step, but its not working. the only difference I can think is that im using the updated GASP that includes sprinting, crouching and replication so maybe thats changing something. will have to retry later :( saved it in a duplicate for now though
Did you ever show us how to fix the camera from going into the walls? When you go under the block your camera automatically goes under it instead of through it.
